Awesome popcorn flick. The only ocmplaint I really have is that Splinter's voice sucks. He sounds like he's drunk and not acting. |
My mates complained about Splinter too. Didn't really bother me as much as April. Her voice was a little distracting at times.
I did mark out for the swords breaking though. I like Raph. :$ |
Sounds pretty good. Might go check this out tomorrow. This or Shooter, if I can bust this cold I got.
For those of you who are wondering, here's the voice cast. Patrick Stewart: Voice of Maximillian J Winters Sarah Michelle Gellar: Voice of April O'Neil Ziyi Zhang: Voice of Karai Chris Evans: Voice of Casey Jones Mako: Voice of Splinter Kevin Smith: Voice of Diner Cook Mitchell Whitfield: Voice of Donatello James Arnold Taylor: Voice of Leonardo Mikey Kelley: Voice of Michelangelo Nolan North: Voice of Raphael/Nightwatcher John DiMaggio: Voice of Colonel Santino Paula Mattioli: Voice of General Serpiente Kevin Michael Richardson: Voice of General Aguila Fred Tatasciore (II): Voice of General Gato Laurence Fishburne: Narrated by |
You just reminded me: I was amused that Patrick Stewart was doing the voice of the main character in a movie that so readily mimicked Gargoyles, since his character is so much like Xanatos.
Also, MAKO did Splinter's voice? How the fuck did he do such a sucky job then? |

April was fine, except her animation was a bit too...Weird for me. She looked like incredigirl or whatever her name was. In fact, Casey and April were the worst animated in the movie, in my opinion. Still, not a big complaint. |

However, He died on July 21st. 2006. I think his age finally caught up with him. :'( Edit: Upon further review on wikipedia.com, I managed to find this. Mako died on July 21, 2006, aged 72, after a long period of suffering from esophageal cancer. Prior to his death, Mako had been recently confirmed to star in the newest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, providing the voice of Splinter.[1] His involvement in the project was announced on July 20; one day before his death. It is known that he had done most of the voice work, but not the ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement).[2] In a recent interview with the director Kevin Munroe, it was confirmed that Mako had completed his recording before his death, and his voice will be used in the movie.[3][4] |
I thought Patrick Stewarts character looked like Mr Incredible.
I'm with you on the April/Casey thing though. Splinter looked like a cuddly little fellow too. Not really a complaint. I hope they get a sequel so I can see and hear the explaination for EVILLER ZOMBIE SHREDDER though. |
Fortunately, in a world where people can become immortal, travel through time, and turn to living stone...

He's a good actor, it doesn't make his acting here any less shit. Of course, the esophagial cancer explains part of it. |
Saw it, liked it. And yeah lol, every time Splinter said anything it just made me laugh. Sounded ridiculous.
RAPHAEL IS THE MAN. Leonardo always used to be my favorite when I was a kid, but Raph is easily my favorite. :( |
Raph became a childhood hero after taking on 186 Foot Soldiers by himself in TMNT 1.
|
Well....the movie was good enough to take #1 this week....
The Turtles have defeated the 300 soldiers of Sparta..... Bad thing is that the Turtles will probably be knocked already out of the park on Friday when Blades of Glory comes out... |
Quote:
"Hooorah or whatever." Anyway, Since 300 sucked, I'm glad to see it toppled. Since Blades of Glory looks gay, I hope it doesn't take 'em down. |
Why exactly did it suck?
|
Since I sure as fuck didn't explain myself on that in the 300 thread, I might as well explain it here in detail.
|
k, so go ahead then.
|
I just did. Perhaps you missed it as you mentally filtered out the long-winded nature of my complaints. Or perhaps you could just check the 300 thread to see my thoughts. You're a bright chap. You'll catch on eventually.

Has anyone actually held a sai? Those things are fucking heavy.

Did everyone who saw this notice that small hint at the end that this is not the start of a new series...but the 4th movie in the Turtles franchise....
|

I didn't even know there was a TMNT series that was going on right now, and so I figured several things were ties to the movies, but apparently were not. For example, references to the Shredder being dead... However, my friend who has actually seen the series and the movies is convinced they're trying to blend the two. I don't know. I haven't seen this new series. |

On the other hand, most sai are made about as well as "medieval armor," which is generally needlessly heavy and unrealistic as such. You want something with substance, but a lot of them are like poorly balanced bricks. |

Them teaming up and them warning about a familiar opponent were at rather different times. One was before the final fight, when they sided with David Xanatos, and the other was after everything else was done with.
You will note, however, that this movie does almost nothing to keep continuity with the earlier movies, but apparently does plenty to keep continuity with the cartoon? Otherwise, for example, why is Tatsu not in charge of the Foot? |
I dunno how to answer that but I do know that even with Shredder supposedly dead, it just isn't quite the same watching anything Turtles without him and his cronies (i.e., Krang, Rocksteady & Bebop)...:-\
|
Not having Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady is the best thing that could happen to them.
...Then again, I was more a fan of the original comics than the ones based on the cartoon. |
I still haven't seen this. I never go to the movies, even if I want to see something.
|
Why, if I might ask?
|
Going to the movies is usually my last resort for a night out. I enjoy going, but there's usually other things I'd rather be doing going on. I'd rather just get the DVD and watch it whenever I feel like it.
