I said, people complained there were not enough, I made no argument about their quality. |

If I bought a Wii at launch I'd be thinking "Hmm, I bought this Wii on Nintendo's track record for good games. Why are all these shitty games coming out? They have clearly lowered the bar." Which they have. Again, I'm not saying they DON'T have good games, but I'm not going to buy into a game system that doesn't strive for quality software. Nintendo is catering to the non-games, and it's an awesome strategy and the only reason they've been able to keep up with the other consoles. These people don't know what's "good", they just know what might be good because of the colorful box or a familiar topic. These are the same people who would buy a Wall-E game or a Madagascar game based solely on the fact that they liked the movie. When you have so many uninformed people making uninformed purchasing decisions it's going to lead the developers into a false sense of security and cry fowl when these people stop caring when the 150th "Brain" game comes out. |

Not enough but 90% good ones > Too many and 10% good ones |
Nintendo have gotten lazy, they have two machines that literally print money so it's not easy.
I kept my Wii during the mad prices they were getting on EBay because I owned a Gamecube so I'm used to droughts and Nintendo's games are always awesome for me, but what did we get for Christmas? Wii Music and Animal Crossing. I like Animal Crossing (I've been told it's due to my homosexuality  ) but it was just a carbon copy of the DS one. 2008 was also the first year in 10 years that there was no Zelda game relased, and I've loved every one of them. Hell, I can't even think of a good DS game for Christmas and that thing has had a steady stream of quality since it's been out. Wii Music bombed, so I hope Nintendo quickly see the error of their ways and that this Motion Plus thing is actually any good. |

"There are too much bad games on the Wii, so if I had one, I would have no choice but to buy them!" Why? I know for a fact that you listen to a lot of music. You will probably agree that a vast majority of music being produced could be considered "shitty". So just because the artists that are most talked about are crap like Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers or Tokyo Hotel, do that mean you have no choice but to buy their CDs? No. You comb through the shitty releases and eventually find something that fits your taste. Which is exactly what Wii owners like Hasney and myself do. Yes, Wii Music sucked, but on the opposite end of the spectrum, there was Mushroom Men, which is probably the most pleasant surprise I had in video games in a couple of years. |

I did have a PS3, but sold it because GTA4 drove me nuts, I needed cash and I want an 80GB one anyways. |

But as long as they can make money with faux fitness and cooking games, who's going to stop them?

Okami is "good," released on ps2 though so it doesn't count? I have 4 Wii games and I homebrewed the shit out of it and I am quite satisfied.

My daughter got one for Christmas. Have to say it's been great playing bowling and stuff with her. So yeah, there are some advantages to the console.

That's the thing. Wario Ware, Wario Land, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers and Boom Blox are all fun games, but they in no way define the system like a lot of 360 and even now PS3 exclusives do. If String Bad didn't come out on PC as well then my Wii would have gotten a lot more love recently. |

In fact, ALL games have been dumbed down over the past 10 years. |
Oh God.

Yeah, but within the last ten years or so "longer" has translated to "harder".
