That's actually quite a bit more than I expected it to be.

Look at the films that were released under Miramax after they were bought out by Disney. Films like Pulp Fiction.

I'm sure Disney won't be silly enough to ruin Marvel, what would be the use of buying it and then ruining it.

Nowhere Man 09-01-2009 08:12 PM

Seriously, I highly doubt there's going to be any difference in any of the Marvel properties. Warner Bros. has owned DC for years, and you never see Batman and Superman teaming up with the Looney Toons. Disney owns tons of companies that aren't strictly for kids (Miramax in particular), so the idea that they're going to start messing around with the comics or even the movies is extremely unlikely.

That being said, I would not be surprised if they started pumping out some more animated series for the Disney Channel. Which isn't exactly a bad thing; Spectacular Spider-Man was the tits, as is Wolverine and the X-Men, and they're both family-friendly shows.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the film also but it does not matter if a few fans like it, it matters if the money comes in or not. It seems like R rated attempts at Comic book films are not as successful as the PG-13 ones.

Pixar having a hand in a Marvel flick would interest me

Absolutely agree with you, which is a shame because some characters, such as The Punisher, will not work in a PG environment.

However, the first Punisher film sold well in DVD sales, which is why they went with another film. Maybe Warzone did well enough to justify another one?

Jeritron 09-03-2009 02:21 PM

I doubt it

The Destroyer 09-03-2009 02:27 PM

It earned even less on DVD than it did in cinemas.

You did see Warzone, right? That movie is straight out of the early 90s. Cartoon villains, Xtreme henchmen, ridiculous ultraviolence... it was a recipe for disaster.

Destor 09-04-2009 03:05 AM

Like Youell I'm excited for possible Marvel/Pixar team up.

Funky Fly 09-04-2009 05:39 AM

Can't see Pixar being useful other than something like a Spider-Man reboot or something else relatively kid friendly.

The Mackem 09-04-2009 06:16 AM

Man, can't wait for a Marvel Universe High School Musical. Does Wolverine have the range? What is Spiderman's timing like? Will the Hulk be shrouded in shame after nude photos emerge?

The violence in warzone was fantastic. And I thought the character was represented better than in the first also. Beyond that however, the first was still a better movie.

Skippord 09-04-2009 06:22 PM

all I remember about Warzone is him killing that one guy with one punch. And the bad guy's badass wardrobe

weather vane 09-09-2009 10:57 PM

haha my buddy just sold his stock in Marvel and got a cheque for $4000
