Well, I haven't played around with the new decks much, but in the process of the unlocks, I got to preview them. I got memory erosioned within an inch of my life....Seriously, chucking four cards to play a single card? I thought one of them was bad.

Nicol Bolas' deck has mad creature control. And several ways to draw cards. The Elf deck finally gets the Piper, which makes sense, only to get a new Elf in the Cries of Rage deck that would make sense in the Elf deck. Though it works in that other deck. Still, with limited customisation, it's frustrating to find your last unlock is...Another Taira's Rebelion. Booourns.

Still, 3 new challenges, 3 new decks, a five level "campaign," and more unlocks for each deck. It expands the game...Now if only I could go three games without the system locking it up.

Tez's deck is definitely less potent out of the box, BTW. It's the only one I've played at all, and they fluff it with...Ornothopers? Yeah, wouldn't want to risk drawing something useful....

Got the expansion and played it for the last couple of nights on my nephew's 360 since this game seems to freeze every time on mine.

Nicol Bolas seemed pretty easy to beat.

Ermaximus 10-29-2009 08:33 AM

Yea, he's not nearly as a pain in the ass as Tezzeret was. Gotta love the black deck and it's discard abilities. :D

Kane Knight 10-29-2009 11:06 AM

You guys serious? Tez was a walk in the park for me compared to Nic.

Could be the decks I used too, but it took me a few tries to beat Tez cuz he kept getting lucky as shit with those artifacts and would always seem to find a way to keep pumping them up and I had nothing to block with. I ended up beating him with the blue deck because I kept using counterspell on his shit.

D Mac 10-29-2009 11:55 AM

I think I used black to beat him.

Tez or Nic?

D Mac 10-29-2009 12:41 PM

Tez

Ermaximus 10-29-2009 12:41 PM

Ah ok. Either way, Tez is a homo.

Went ahead and paid the 10 bucks for the online PC game. You get 800 cards so it's a pretty good deal. Been playing the pre constructed decks for now but I'll make my own later.

Kane Knight 11-05-2009 08:27 PM

how much are expansions on the PC? I mean, whatever you call them...Boosters, etc.

D Mac 11-07-2009 02:35 AM

4 bucks for 15 card booster packs. 12 to 20 bucks for theme decks.

Kane Knight 11-07-2009 09:13 AM

Yikes. Kinda pricey, innit?

D Mac 11-07-2009 09:59 AM

Yeah that's why I'm sticking with the cards they give you when you get the game.

Kane Knight 11-07-2009 12:26 PM

Makes sense. I don't know if I'd really bother with that. I like DotP because it's simple, easy, and casual.

Just pulled the greatest comeback ever! Was down to 1 life and Nissa Revine or whatever her name is had 32. Playing with Mind of Void, had 2 flying creatures with 5/6 and killed off her 1/1 creatures, she tried to finish me with Drain Life, countered it. Then she just kept drawing forests while I pummeled her into submission.

D Mac 11-14-2009 04:27 PM

God I need a life. :(

Fryza 11-15-2009 03:00 AM

Haven't played it in awhile, prefer the actual cards to the arcade game.

RBM 11-16-2009 04:02 PM

Have you guys heard about the Magic the gathering Tactics game coming out? Hopefully that will be worth grabbing.

D Mac 11-16-2009 04:04 PM

For PS3. Yeah, sounds interesting.

Kane Knight 11-16-2009 04:44 PM

Not heard about it. I know Duels is making it to PC and PS3 now, though.

D Mac 11-24-2009 06:09 PM

Had to cheat to finish some of the challenges. A couple of them were total mind fucks.

Only got Cries of Rage left to fill until I get 100%

....

D Mac 11-24-2009 08:15 PM

What. You can't tell me you figured them all out on your own.

Kane Knight 11-24-2009 11:58 PM

Yes?

They weren't really hard.

D Mac 11-25-2009 12:52 AM

Yeah right.

Kane Knight 11-25-2009 08:42 AM

Don't hate me because you're slow...

Fryza 11-26-2009 05:05 PM

I cheated cause I didn't want to do them.

Sorin Markov, the ancient vampire sangromancer, has returned to Zendikar for reasons he is keeping to himself. This second expansion pack for Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers features new cards and new decks to add to your arsenal. Now you can wield the power of Nicol Bolas's "Eons of Evil" deck, unlock three new cards for all existing decks, or defeat the new single-player campaign to unlock Rhys the Redeemed's "Heart of Worlds" and Chandra Nalaar's "Heat of Battle" decks. This expansion pack also contains five new puzzling challenges, three new achievements and personas, host migration for multiplayer, and avatar attire awards all to test your Magic skills. Are you prepared to defy the Master of Shadows?

Kane Knight 03-12-2010 08:17 AM

Eons of Evil is terrible.

The only thing that makes it effective in the hands of the AI is that they get predertermined draws.

D Mac 03-19-2010 04:57 AM

Been playing Magic Online for PC quite a bit. Just constructed my first deck called Fire and Dread and won several matches with it.

D Mac 03-19-2010 04:58 AM

They need the option to make your own decks in the 360 version. It's fun to see it all come together.

No they don't.

On a related note, DotP still has a progress delete glitch. My buddy found it out the hard way, a day before my 360 died. I checked the Wizards forum, and it's not even uncommon.

Meanwhile, Stainless Games is getting rewarded for their XBLA glitchfest with a new deal.

Yes they do.

Kane Knight 03-19-2010 04:58 PM

That would turn it from a fast and fun game into...Magic the Gathering.

Fuck that.

D Mac 03-19-2010 05:08 PM

At least have the option. Like have matches for regular Planeswalker decks and matches for constructed decks. Magic online has it.

Kane Knight 03-19-2010 11:27 PM

Magic Online is a different animal. If you want Magic Online, play Magic Online.

El Fangel 03-19-2010 11:31 PM

Any of you ever play the actual CCG?

D Mac 03-19-2010 11:43 PM

Got a bunch of cards but no one I know wants to play with me. :(
