Hmmmm... I've thought it over.

Sting I have pretty much always enjoyed. I enjoy him still to this very day. He is past his prime, but I still enjoy seeing him and his matches.

Randy Savage I LOVED during his prime... but in his later days in WCW, when he was past his prime, I did not enjoy him.

Still, I kind of hate voting against Randy Savage.

Stealth-Icon 01-26-2010 10:07 PM

Snap into a slim jim.....ooooooo Yeaaaaahhhh!!!

Savage hands down for me. I like the old sting, never liked the crow sting. Savage has been one of my personal favorites of all time.

The Gold Standard 01-26-2010 10:31 PM

Did not expect that big of a difference.

I have always been a Savage fan. I never really watched WCW because I could never get into it. I was never a big fan of Sting when I saw him either.

I'd also like to note that in the picture, Sting (the wrestler) is Strumming a Bass. WIN.

Jeritron 01-27-2010 04:43 AM

I got you for 3 minutes

The Mackem 01-27-2010 10:18 AM

The TPWW Hall of fame is biased towards WWF/WWE wrestlers. Sting doesn't stand a chance. Just kidding.

Loose Cannon 01-27-2010 10:24 AM

Going with Savage.

On both careers overall it's very close. Both were draws in different eras, both were main eventing during the height of WWF in the 80's (Savage) and the height of WCW in the late 90's (Sting). Work rate wise, both a ton of great matches throughout thier careers. Savage edges out Sting in the promo department. Charisma wise, it's a tie.

One major win for Savage is Sting sucked as a heel. He could never pull it off. Savage was an awesome heel and an awesome babyface. Also, like someone mentioned I saw Savage as the HBK of the 80's. He really was the MVP of so many Mania's in a row.

Bottom line, Macho Man Randy Savage

Sting

I like Sting better

This is true

but this time it's ok because Savage is clearly better.

Close one for me, but I am going with Savage for the reasons Loose Cannon specified.

Destor 01-28-2010 07:11 PM

this isn`t even close and i`m glad the poll agrees. savage can out work sting, out talk sting, and out draw sting. DIG IT?

Emperor Smeat 01-28-2010 10:14 PM

Macho Man.

Besides the final few years in WCW, Macho Man was a good character in both WWF and WCW. His feud with Hogan over Miss Elizabeth was one of the best feuds he had in the WWF even if later in life he really began to get paranoid over Elizabeth.

Macho Man played the face and heel character pretty well while Sting is more known for his face and "tweener" character with the Crow version.

Phenomenal 1 01-29-2010 05:08 PM

No suprise here that Macho Man won this....While both Savage and Sting were great performers, I think what made the miss of the boat here was the lack of national exposure for WCW vs the mainstream exposure of WWF/WWE in the late 1980's and the early 1990's. While Sting is a legend and a phenomenon in wrestling in his own right...Savage was a more established and well known name by the time mainstream exposure came to wrestling fans to discover who Sting was.
