I dont mind them changing Kickoff rules for safety. So many injuries. Its the only part of the game where you have massive men with 50 yard head starts barreling into someone trying to block them.

Ever since the Kevin everett game I have agreed. I dont like moving the kick spot though.

The game is evolving, time for Special teams to. Been the same about 25-30 years with no changes until recently.

Hanso Amore 08-12-2011 11:01 AM

Lee Evans is apparently on the block as the bills have a ton of young WRs ready to break out.

Im ok with trading him, but it sounds like they arent going to get much in return, which I dont get. if you want to deal from a strength to make your team better, cool, but if you dont get ernough in return for a starter, you are just making holes.

I like Lee. Classy guy. Hope they dont trade him. But Joker Johnson is the clear number 1 now, and Lee cant run any routes except "GO DEEP AND AN 80 YARD BOMB IS COMING"

James Steele 08-12-2011 11:17 AM

I know it was only a preseason game, but I am glad Garrett showed some balls and went for 2. A few guys shined yesterday and hopefully earn a spot on the roster and get a chance to develop.

RP 08-12-2011 01:11 PM

Colts are apparently close to signing TJ Houshmanzadeh....not sure what I think about that.

Evil Vito 08-12-2011 01:21 PM

Giants are said to be interested in Evans, not sure what to make of it. He'd give them a legit deep threat - but he's owed $5 million each of the next two years. Giants may be in cap hell again next year with all the restructuring they did.

But I would like to get a vet in there, since at this point the most experienced WR likely to make the 53 man roster is Domenik Hixon.

Hanso Amore 08-12-2011 03:06 PM

Evans to Baltimore for a 4th...Ugh, wanted more.

as long as Boldin is there doing everything else, Lee can just run fly routes all day. Good fit for him.

IC Champion 08-12-2011 03:23 PM

Anquan Boldin is a seriously underrated reciever.

Ermaximus 08-12-2011 03:31 PM

What are wide recievers? Those don't exist in Jacksonville. At least not since the snow sniffer and Keenan.

Crimson 08-12-2011 07:39 PM

Boldin is done, he's not the same anymore. Tandon Doss will probably be Flacos' go to guy.

Emperor Smeat 08-12-2011 08:25 PM

According to ESPN, Pats QB Brian Hoyer is the new "Kevin Kolb" which means some team is going to be fooled in giving up a lot to get him.

Unlike Cassel, Hoyer doesn't have nearly the experience nor stats while at least Kolb started a few games and was a legit contender for #1 QB with the Eagles last year.

He isn't a bad player but sort of crazy to give him the "Kolb" tag considering he's only appeared in 10 games with the 1/2 game against Tennessee the most he's ever played (not counting preseason).

lol maybe in 2013..but not this year. Boldin is ok, but hes not that speed/deep threat.

Funny it was pointed out that the only reason the Ravens passed on every other WR was apparently because GM Ozzie Newsome was infatuated with Evans after the Ravens/Bills game last year where he caught 10 passes for 100 yards and 3 TDs which was pretty much his only production for the Bills last year.

Hanso Amore 08-12-2011 10:19 PM

Yeah, Evans is a one dimensional player at this point and has lost a step, but he should be a nice weapon on a contender. I wouldnt expect much in the way of production at a high level, but I think his value comes in having to plan against him. He should open up the middle a bit for boldin.

Boomer 08-12-2011 11:51 PM

Falcons first-team looked awesome. So excited for Julio Jones and the season.

Innovator 08-13-2011 10:49 PM

Giants first O looked amazing,

for Eagles, Cowboys, and Redskins fans.

Evil Vito 08-13-2011 11:08 PM

Looks like the Panthers have drafted a Donovan McNabb clone with their top pick in the draft.

Misses easy short throws
Claps his hands and smiles
Gets sacked
Smiles
Good deep throws
Black
Can Run
Smiles

Hanso Amore 08-14-2011 02:47 AM

Shawn Merriman sighting in Chicago tonight.

SammyG 08-14-2011 02:28 PM

lol Curtis Painter was awful. I love this new Rams offense so much. Can't wait for the season.

RP 08-15-2011 06:48 AM

Yah Painter should be benched

Oh wait, he is benched.

Innovator 08-15-2011 10:16 AM

I'm glad to see the Giants addressed the problem of no one covering the seam go route in the offseason.

RP 08-15-2011 03:23 PM

Lol

RP 08-15-2011 03:24 PM

I hope your backup qb performed well, or sammy g might talk shit

SammyG 08-16-2011 07:59 PM

I'm not talking shit at all, I realize Manning is incredible and the starter. I'm just stoked on how good the Rams looked in that first game. I legit think we might beat Philly week one.

Evil Vito 08-16-2011 11:46 PM

Giants bring in Rhys Lloyd to fill in for Tynes while he's hurt.

Think he has a chance of sticking around as a kickoff specialist. Even with the new kickoff rules, Tynes' leg won't guarantee a touchback. Lloyd would change that.

Rams are gonna be solid this year. Definitely gonna be a team that makes a huge leap forward.

Emperor Smeat 08-17-2011 12:17 AM

NFL postponed the Supplemental Draft on the day before it was supposed to occur just for Terrelle Pryor so that instead of him missing this season, he can get more time to be legally declared ineligible by Ohio State and the NCAA while also having at least 1 personal practice for scouts.

Normally the NFL doesn't postpone the SD for just 1 player but they did it for Pryor while the other potential draftees didn't know it was cancelled until after the announcement.

Riker 08-17-2011 12:20 PM

HOLY SHIT HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS SOONER

Look at this shit. HAHAHA! 10 yards down the field and the dude goes for the endzone.

Illegal much?

I think he is going to be a good NFL backup, maybe starter (was a huge fan of his on college) but man, I still think it is so funny the shit rookies do in their first action. Im sure he was just so revved up he wasnt thinking. Its like guys who score on their own goal. Imagine coming to that realization that you fucked up.

Evil Vito 08-17-2011 07:23 PM

God I hate the media. Eli Manning gets asked if he thinks he's in the same class as Tom Brady. He said yes.

The media then throws a shitfit over this...what the fuck did you expect him to say? If he said no they would have been all over his ass for that, too. Lose-lose situation.

Crimson 08-17-2011 11:31 PM

He coulda just said 'That's not for me to decide, it's you guys' job' or something like that

Evil Vito 08-18-2011 10:46 AM

Even then, the media would put a negative spin on it as per usual. We all know he's not in Brady's class, very few are.

I'd put Eli in the Top 10, somewhere near the bottom. A lot of people point to his interceptions, but a good amount of them weren't his fault last year. There's a YouTube video kicking around of his 25 INTs from last year, and I can count 10 that the stonehanded receivers tipped into the defense's hands. Dude had some incredibly bad luck.

Innovator 08-18-2011 10:55 AM

All the more reason why Michael Kay is a douche.

FearedSanctity 08-18-2011 06:23 PM

Was wondering if anyone here has or currently uses a VPN to get access to NFL.com's Game Pass, which is basically an online Sunday Ticket. It's $250 for everything (can do monthly payments) or $200 for one team (no payments), but of course it's only available to those outside the US and Mexico.

But apparently you can use a VPN to gain access to it. I've read on several websites about people who do this. I just used a simple UK proxy and was able to get to the order page, but I'm gonna need something faster if I'm gonna shell out $250, so a premium VPN seems to be the way to go.

Just wondering if anyone here has done it before I make the commitment

Boomer 08-18-2011 06:37 PM

I use an Amazon EC2 server to route my connection for MLB.TV to watch Braves stuff since I don't have cable. I would link you to the tutorial, but the one I used got removed. I essentially only use the proxy for the initial connection check, and switch back off the proxy when the game starts loading. The first year is essentially free if you keep everything to the free settings on Amazon; I only made a few initial mistakes in my setup, and in 6 months I've paid 19 cents for the server.

Boomer 08-18-2011 06:39 PM

And I have no idea if NFL game pass checks your connection throughout the game, but I would presume it worked the same way.

Team Sheep 08-18-2011 09:51 PM

I'm using my home university's proxy to watch all my UK TV channels here in the US which is great :D Probably gonna have more chance of watching some Jets games through Sky than local TV here in the South.

free/ILLEGAL Redzone streams son

FearedSanctity 08-19-2011 12:24 AM

That'd be good if I cared for all the games, but I really only want to watch Denver's. And being in Texas with both an instate AFC (CBS) and NFC (Fox) team, it's damn near impossible to get a game locally unless the Broncos are actually playing the Cowboys/Texans.

Streaming was good for me for a while, but I'm getting tired of streams getting shut down midgame and having to do a mad search for a working one. And worse, given the decline of the team some places just don't stream Bronco games regularly. It may be a bit pricey, but it's worth it to be able to watch the game in HD live, or if I can't catch it live I can watch it archived whenever I'm ready

Emperor Smeat 08-19-2011 01:07 AM

I know its just a preseason game but wow at how bad Vick played vs Pitt.

Love how good the young D on the Pats look after the 1st two preseason games and there was even speculation Brady was struggling in training camp but he was great today.

FearedSanctity 08-19-2011 04:25 AM

Alright, so I found a good cheap VPN service that offers a refund if I don't like it, so for now I'm risking nothing. I check my IP using various different websites and it'll come up as whichever country I'm using. I can use BBC's iPlayer when using a UK VPN. But whenever I try to get to the Game Pass page it gives me the usual "must be out of the US and Mexico" bullshit, so wtf? Why is it the only one I need it to work on is being an asshole?

Ermaximus 08-19-2011 10:42 AM

Playing the Falcons tonight at home. Definately going to that game. Matt Ryan is great, not elite status like Brees, Manning, Rodgers, or Rivers, but he is great. Hell of a WR tandem he's got now too. Ryan to White/Jones, fucking wow.

Boomer 08-19-2011 10:44 AM

Matt Ryan could be great one day, but I tend to agree with you. I hope they open up the offense for him this year.
