WTF?!?!? No Terkay and Burke?!?!?
|
I like the cameramen idea. Two hovering around the ring, waiting to get whacked incidentally, would be cool.
|
Time to get my notes in order.

Or have their cords gathered up and used to choke someone.
|
Or have the Chyna sex tape playing on them to blind your opponent.

YESSSSSSSSSSS Nitro has the paparazzis

If you watch the 360 videos on IGN, you can see Taker choking the life out of Triple H with the monitor wires from the announcing tables
|
Hmm, watching the interview again, apparently Rumbles are gonna be a lot easier this year. Just pick the guy up (assuming you can), and chuck 'em out

I do like the idea of 2 camera men hovering at ringside, with the slightest touch knocking them and and dropping their camera to use as a weapon. Good stuff.

LEGENDS POSSIBLY CONFIRMED
Back before DOR2, EBGames listed every legend in the game LONG before they were officially confirmed...and were forced to take the list down and replace it with a generic Legends statement. Their list ended up being spot-on though. Well, they did the same for SVR07. The list is gone now but here's who was on it: Andre The Giant™ Bret Hart™ Dusty Rhodes™ Eddie Guerrero™ Hulk Hogan® Mr. Perfect™ Rick Rude™ The Rock® Roddy Piper™ Steve Austin®" --- Definately a believable list. I REALLY hope its legit because this list rules ass especially compared to last year's. Perfect and Rude >>>>>>>>>> 2 other Hogans If this is in fact true, I'd also wager that Mick will be on the regular roster then...which is fine by me, I don't want them to leave him out |

But they need Double A, Ted DiBiase, and Ricky Steamboat. :'( |
Thing is though, there is only 3 fresh new unplayed characters on that list, the others are just remixes.

A tag team from THQ stopped by the Game Informer offices recently to slam our heads into the turnbuckle and show us their latest wrestling title, WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007, on Xbox 360. We got the full breakdown on the new control setup, found out what it’s like to wrestle in the crowd, and got some insight on what fans can expect from the story mode. Plus, check out over 20 minutes of direct feed videos of sweaty men tossing each other around. For WWE 2007, developer Yukes and THQ have decided to focus all grappling maneuvers on the right analog stick. Players can flick the right stick in several directions to perform a quick grapple move that doesn’t take off a whole lot of damage, but can put the opponent in a more vulnerable position. For stronger grapples, players must hold the right bumper and flick the right stick. From here you can choose to perform one of several moves or click on the right stick to initiate special moves. Specials will throw up contextual button prompts onscreen where you can do things like rub an opponent’s face on the ropes by moving the right stick back and forth. As far as the rest of the buttons go, A is the universal “action” button, X is for strikes, Y is for running, B regenerates stamina, the triggers handle strike and grapple reversals, the left bumper performs finishers, and the D-pad unleashes a variety of taunts. However, last year’s control scheme is included as well for those who can’t handle change. WWE 2007 has over 20 “hotspots” in and around the ring for players to execute moves particular to the situation at hand. Aside from the obvious slams and strikes fans can imagine from the ropes, turnbuckles, and metal barriers, they will also be able to utilize places like the announcer table to deal out maximum damage. We were able to rip off the table top, grab the TV monitors inside, smash them on our unsuspecting victim, and then choke him with the cables hidden inside the table. THQ also promises a new storyline with complete voiceover for all of the cutscenes. “We have a new format similar to the one we had in [WWE SmackDown!] Here Comes the Pain where you have three tiers you can go down: champion, challenger, and a general storyline tier. You actually jump between those and play multiple years and see multiple stories that way,” explained Cory Ledesma, creative manager at THQ “A lot of feedback we got on the story in our season mode in the past is that, at the end in WrestleMania you win the championship and you never get the chance to defend the championship through the story. In this format, you can play multiple years, ten years, and you can go down that champion path and actually hold the belt and challenge people for it,” said Ledesma. Another new dynamic lets wrestlers fight in the crowd. Observers will clear out as you toss your opponent over the barrier and slam him into the cement. Here you can grab weapons from the crowd like canes and crutches, break a TV with an enemy’s face, or set up a table and smash a guy through it. The pain disbursement options seem to have really branched out. Finally, we’ll get to the part that everyone wants to know about. Who’s going to be in the game? We know for sure that John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Booker T, Johnny Nitro, and the Undertaker will be making an appearance. And we’ve seen several other favorites that we’re not allowed to talk about yet. Sad, I know. WWE SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2007 is looking like it’s taking wrestling to the next generation in style. But don’t take our word for it – check out our massive video collection to see for yourself. -Bryan Vore ------------------------------- Did I read that right? 10 year season? Not sure if that means the season itself is 10 years or that you can get 10 years without repeating storylines, but still  |
Taking pages from HCTP's book?
This game is gonna be worth getting, now all we can do is hope for a good roster. |
I've heard whispers of some more roster confirmations next week.
Hope it's true cause I won't be here to see the final confirmation. |
God, it better be a good roster, I'm gonna check the current one...
|
Most of those guys I dont know how popular they are, who do you think'll make the roster?
|
Well let's play the guessing game.
In: John Cena Rey Mysterio Triple H Kurt Angle Shelton Benjamin Chris Benoit Booker T Johnny Nitro Undertaker Should Be In: HBK Randy Orton The Big Show Kane Rob Van Dam Lashley Edge Carlito Ric Flair Maybe: Batista (Since he was out for most of the year, but still a big enough name to include anyways) The Great Khali (Might've debuted too late) Mark Henry (He was a big part of Smackdown up until his injury last month) JBL The Spirit Squad (Will they go ahead and use 5 spots on them?) Finlay Chris Masters (Would his suspension hurt his spot on the game?) Joey Mercury (See Masters) Mr. Kennedy Umaga (See Khali) Matt Hardy |
Here's my now-revamped crack at the roster, assuming the legends list is legit. I'll go with 50 current guys (making it 60 overall with the legends)
RAW: Big Show Candice Michelle Carlito Chris Masters Edge Eugene John Cena* Johnny Johnny Nitro* Kane Kenny Lita Melina Mick Foley Mickie James Mikey Mitch Nicky Randy Orton Ric Flair Rob Van Dam Shawn Michaels Shelton Benjamin* Torrie Wilson Triple H* Trish Stratus Umaga As much as I love the Squad, the Raw side of things seems a bit bland...probably because the Squad may very well just be the same character times 5. SmackDown: Ashley Batista Boogeyman Booker T* Brian Kendrick Chris Benoit* Daivairi Finlay Great Khali Gregory Helms JBL Joey Mercury Ken Kennedy Kurt Angle* Lashley Mark Henry Matt Hardy Paul Burchill Psicosis Rey Mysterio* Super Crazy Undertaker* William Regal I like this roster a LOT more than the Raw side. Khali's an iffy choice...as he debuted in mid-May, but I think they'll squeeze him in thanks to a WWE tipoff. If he's not in it'd be Tatanka or someone And to explain the differences in roster size: I'm assuming that Ashley was originally meant to be on Raw, and Orton, Melina, and Nitro were originally meant to be on SD...so originally it was meant to be 25 per brand |
Probably take out Eugene and Vis and add Victoria and Candice Michelle
|
Jesus, pretty generic..
They better have a good CAW mode this time around |
Quote:
Eugene's probably a safe bet though...if only because he has all those specific moves. Also, for the sake of realisticness, I'm cutting Vito and putting in a guy I completely forgot about - Captain Paul Burchill, who was pushed huge back around cutoff time |
Super crazy and that other mexicools guy?
|
Shit....how did I forgot about the Mexicools? :(
Alright, two final changes...Crazy and Psicosis in, Nunzio/Tatanka out. Smackdown roster is still miles better than the Raw one in this, mainly due to all the new guys |
You really think Khali will be in? I'm having a hard time seeing it. I think if they went that recent then they might as well put in some ECW members.
It's going to be hard to make a good roster out of what they have now. |
Eh, I think Khali will be in...he was around a full month before the ECW'ers
Though, an idea did surface: since they all take up the same amount of space anyway, may as well not include secondary attires and instead use those spots on a few extra guys (ECW)...Tommy, Sandman, and Sabu at least. If you want an even number throw Funk and Balls in as well. You would think they'd know the fans would expect to see ECW in. Will it happen? Not likely, because Yukes has a fetish with including pointless backstage attires for the big names. :( |
I could really care less about different attires. Only the ones that change the characters (Undertaker, Kane, Foley, and only Hollywood Hogan) should be the ones that stay in or at least get thought. Things like suits for HHH, Flair, etc are just pointless unless you are roleplaying your matches.
I guess Khali has been there longer then I thought but I still have my doubts about him making it. |
Hey, has anything been said about having your own entrance music from the 360 HDD?
|
Nothing has been announced but I would feel safe saying they would add it. Both RAW games had it and seeing as how they are creating the game for the 360 and porting it to the PS2 I think it would be a good call.
|
I'd like to see alternate wrestling attires for certain wrestlers. Like for example, guys like Angle, HBK, Benoit, and RVD don't always wrestle in the same outfit. So why not include different outfits for them? Yes, I don't want Batista wearing a suit while wrestling a match, but have more than one of his tights available to wear during matches.
|
I don't think alternate attires are a big deal at all. A nice touch but if it were to come between giving a character a different attire or adding a whole new character into the game, I'd choose the latter (because different attired guys still take up the same amount of room as a whole new guy)
I'm hoping they still have CAW-trading online available (which would be really stupid if they didn't)...save tons of time and just download the CAWs from the top makers  It'd be cool if it went the Attitude route and you can make as many CAWs as you have space on your hard drive. You can easily update the entire roster and barely lose any space. |
I think alternate attires should be a shortcut to having extra legends, like HBKs WM X ladder match attire, RVDs ECW attire, Kanes masked attire, and Biker undertaker attire.
|
I think they should just go back to making wrestlers out of CAW parts. They have the technology to make it look as good as the renders, and thus wouldn't have to have the space for a fully rendered superstar for each outfit.
|
Yeah, I want my CAWs to make people say "How do you unlock ____?" Now its just "What the fuck is that?"
