Here's some quick notes. You can start fires, that includes forest fires. You can also dig a shallow grave with that trusty shovel.

Here's some stuff from GamePro

- What you can carry in home invasions depends on your strength and time in gym.
- You can negotiate a price with the fence on stolen items.
- You will seemingly have the ability to jack the trams in San Fierro.
- You will see ruins in San Fierro from the 1989 Earthquake.
- Lombard road and the Trans-America tower are in the game.
- Cops chase peds in high speed chases and helicopters can even get involved. These chases can result in your death however.
- Helicopters seem to be avaliable in San Fierro.
- You can speak to pedestrians using dialogue boxes, similar to those seen in Role Playing Games.
- Climbing will be similar to the climbing in Tony Hawks Underground.
- Hints that the player will be able to steal trains and even skateboards.
- Angel Pine is the size of two Vice City blocks.
- It would appear there's no limit on how high you can fly.
- You can fly for minutes in a straight line without coming into contact with a town.
- CJ's mobile will help you get back on track if you get lost.
- A complete day takes 24 minutes to pass. Exactly the same as previous games.
- You can view your health in the stats page.
- It should take the average gamer about 130 to 150 hours to complete using a strategy guide.
- Each main city has an airport with vehicles to jack.
- The game might be open from the begining or it might not. Rockstar are still deciding on this.

el fregadero 09-09-2004 04:38 PM

130 hours with a strategy guide?

Jonster 09-09-2004 04:43 PM

Holy crap.

Astley316 09-09-2004 07:29 PM

i hope it is open from the start, first time i get one of these games i just drive around for forty minutes

DS 09-09-2004 07:58 PM

If it was opened from the start, you'd be driving around for 4 hours.

DS 09-09-2004 08:02 PM

Also, probably the worst news that this game has come out with is:

The game has been delayed.

That's right, the new release date is October 26th in North America and October 29th in Europe. There's no word on Australia's date yet but being October 28th in the first place, I'm going to say it will be a good guess the first week of November.

DS 09-09-2004 08:48 PM

After that I don't know if this information is good (it is) or bad (because it will make you more anxious) but here it is: the first info on Las Venturas.

- There are plenty of casinos to gamble in, like the V-Rock Casino, styled like the Hard Rock Cafe. Other Casinos include "The Visage", "Pirates in Men's Pants", "Caligula's Palace" and "The Pink Swan".
- While in a casino, there are a variety of minigames available to play, such as Blackjack, Video Poker, Wheel of Fortune, Slots and Craps.
- Elvis Presley impersonators are present in Las Venturas for a little bit of drunken humor.
- The famous Las Vegas cowboy sign is included in San Andreas, but features Avery Carrington (of Vice City Fame) instead.
- A giant Candy Suxx statue adorns the exterior of one of Las Venturas' buildings.

Hired Hitman 09-11-2004 12:14 AM

I wish they would add another city to their website already

DS 09-11-2004 12:22 AM

Funny you mention that. They are adding San Fierro up soon.

DEATH : Go RIGHT NOW and kill the first person you see. You will notice that death is not really so very bad.

DARIUS FONTAINE is a genius!

Savio 09-12-2004 02:57 AM

He exposes lies and saves lives. Be afraid no longer.

These are some lies that have been spread
by people with no interest in helping you.

DARIUS FONTAINE™ IS A CON MAN WITH NO FORMAL TRAINING.
Not quite true. DARIUS FONTAINE™ is a fully-qualified gardener,
with a gift for personal development, especially his own.

DARIUS FONTAINE™ MAKES YOU SLEEP WITH YOUR MOTHER.
Only in a very select number of cases.
DARIUS FONTAINE™ is a strict Freudian, you see.

DARIUS FONTAINE™ ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO COMMIT MURDER.
Not so. DARIUS FONTAINE™ frees people from fear. There is a difference.

DARIUS FONTAINE™ ONCE MADE A MAN JUMP OFF A CLIFF,
KILLING HIMSELF IN THE PROCESS.
Unfortunately, complicated psychological treatment is a game of percentages.
It is definitely the case that the man in question has not once complained of vertigo since.

DARIUS FONTAINE™ HATES RELIGION.
CORRECT! Just checking to see if you are still reading. RELIGION IS FOR WIMPS WHO ARE UNREASONABLY SCARED OF THE FACT THAT LIFE IS COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS AND POINTLESS AND THE RESULT OF BILLIONS OF YEARS OF CHANCE. Why do people find this depressing? The fact that we are collections of atoms waiting for the sun to go out should be celebrated!

Hired Hitman 09-12-2004 03:07 AM

You are our 'Savior'

... ah, I'm going to go lay down for a while.

Savio 09-12-2004 03:13 AM

???

DS 09-13-2004 08:34 PM

- There are now underwater missions
- When using a powerful weapon close-up it will remove the body part completely
- If you ever get lost, you will receive a phone call on your Cell Phone to put you back on track.
- There could be kids in the game, it also has ‘make a quick getaway on some kids bike’ and ‘There is so much going on. Cars, bikes, citizens, gangs, kids’. Then remember there is an amusement park.
- There is a mention of CJ being able to surf, but it’s not confirmed
- You can do certain stealth kills with melee weapons, each weapon having a different animation. E.g. with a knife you impale the blade into their necks.
- CJ actually has his own crib in Orange Grove
- Peds can sleep and also you can do stealth kills while they are sleeping too
- You can visit shops, markets and drug related businesses in Hashury
- You can play basketball by yourself or take on other people
- There are pubs in the country towns
- Angel Pine is the size of 2 Vice City Blocks
- There is a motel up on Mount Chiliad
- You can also add artistic designs on your car at TransFender
- You can now power slide with the handbrake, and not so stiff and quick like previous GTA’s.
- Not only does your cars structure get damaged, but modifications made on your get bent and wrecked too.
- You can fly 3x higher then in VC
- Gambling is a stat and is increased based on your maximum bets
- You can only play at some tables if you are a high roller
- Recruiting gang members depends on your respect level

How Turf Owning Works:
To take over turf you go to enemy territory and start taking out the rival gang. After you survive a couple waves of attacking, the turf now belongs to OGF, and as such they will start spawning on the street. Every now and then someone from a rival gang will try to take the turf back...So you got to scrap together a posse and defend it.

Hired Hitman 09-14-2004 12:18 AM

Sounds great.

That makes 2 of us, but he was able to give me useful info

Hollywood Red 09-21-2004 03:33 PM

According to every other source, the PC release date is much closer to this time NEXT year.

JJ Moore 09-21-2004 03:48 PM

Well all i've heard is that it should be out 2 months after the release of SA. Maybe they will announce a PC release date in 2 months or actually release the PC version then.

Hollywood Red 09-21-2004 04:08 PM

September 09, 2004 - Buried (somewhat) in Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive's third quarter 2004 financial results is mention that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is indeed planned, and expected to be released in the third quarter of 2005.

To take that out of Business Time, think approximately a year from now.

Of course, most of us guessed a PC (and Xbox) version of San Andreas would be released eventually, but thus far Rockstar had not said anything officially. As is often the case, the desire to provide accurate information to investors trumps the desire to keep gamers on the edge of their seats, panting for knowledge.

Interestingly, the financial report did not mention an Xbox version of the latest Grand Theft Auto. However, we have little reason to doubt that the massively-anticipated (and generally massive) sequel will make its way to Microsoft's console as well.

Stay tuned for more on San Andreas PC as details come in.

The PC release isn't for Christmas 2004. If anything it will be more like Christmas 2005.

Cool! well it's more then likely it will be announced in 2 month's officially from Rockstart then or something, who knows

Optik 09-21-2004 06:47 PM

Have to agree with DS here. Anybody remember how long it took for GTA and VC to go to PC? Basically, don't hope for any version of SA to be available for anything but PS2 for awhile...
