When you're like 10 you look at these guys and say that's where I wanna be, but now at 21 I'm like FUCK, WHAT HAPPENED?

Skippord 04-23-2010 08:04 AM

well I'm gonna go shoot up some heroin and hang myself

thanks for reminding me this is going to happen to me also soon

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 08:09 AM

On a slightly happier note, Mount Cody is still available.

Make it happen, McDaniels. O-line be damned

Skippord 04-23-2010 08:14 AM

Put him at guard

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 08:17 AM

And center. At the same time.

Oh yeah, and Tom Brandstater...

Something about him riding off into the sunset seems hilariously fitting

Evil Vito 04-23-2010 09:23 AM

Really interested in seeing what the Giants do today.

Did a lot of reading up on JPP...a LOT of people seem to think he'll be a bust, including USF fans.

I dunno, I have faith in Jerry Reese. His draft history the past two years hasn't been able to match the awesome 2007 draft, but it's still been better than most.

Yeah I had that feeling a few years ago, really sucks the first few times you notice it.

Evil Vito 04-23-2010 09:49 AM

Yeah several of the first rounders are younger than me, including Jason Pierre-Paul (first Giants player to be younger than me).

Next year players will be drafted who were born in the '90s. Fuck.

Evil Vito 04-23-2010 11:01 AM

I bet the Rams feel pretty stupid in retrospect. Yeah they raved about Bradford and everything but they could have drafted Suh and still had Clausen there to start the 2nd round. Ridiculous draft.

lol that bottom right pic isn't his missus. But fair play to the boy

Droford 04-23-2010 12:36 PM

Conspiracy Theory Alert!!

The Broncos traded #15 Brandon Marshall before the draft knowing they were going to draft Tebow so they could give him his #15 that he wore in Florida which was the # Marshall wore.

I bet he was like "I dont wanna come to Denver unless I can wear #15"

hmm

Yeah, next year a guy who is younger than me and who I rode the bus with every day will likely be drafted 1st or 2nd round.

Mr. Monday Morning 04-23-2010 01:03 PM

SAVE_US_TEBOW

Seriously though Ozzie Newsome is a freaking genius. Trading out of the 1st round basically meant they got back the picks they gave up for Boldin, only better.

Given that Marshall was unlikely to stay in Denver starting from Week 17, I call BS and just a coincidence. Marshall has so much attachment to 15 that he's making no real effort to take it from Bess in Miami, so I doubt he'd have had a problem giving it up

SammyG 04-23-2010 02:38 PM

I wonder who the Rams are taking at 33. I wouldn't mind trading down here, getting hella more picks. Minnesota picking 34th might help us, people might wanna trade up to get Clausen/McCoy. Can't believe McCoy and Clausen are still there.. shit, coulda drafted Suh AND Clausen/McCoy. Kinda hate Clausen, so I guess that's good we don't have him.

The Giants drafting JPP could be a sign that Osi is on his way out, I think they have been trying to shop him... What better place than St.Louis for him, Spags knows him best.

Hanso Amore 04-23-2010 02:40 PM

Bills are trying to send Marshawn Lynch to the Seahawks for picks, then package those picks with the 41st pick and sending it to the Rams for 33 to draft claussen.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-23-2010 03:00 PM

what do you care? I thought you were done.

Hanso Amore 04-23-2010 03:14 PM

Im tell Sammmy so he knows. I really have no excitement in this draft any further. Its just going to be a letdown. Most likely they will sit at 41 and no pull the trigger, then end up keeping Lynch for no apparent reason.

IT just shows how out of it the Bills are. The NFL is a passing league. And Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey (Dukes of Hazard) are rolling out this "Run First" Offense....like it is some form of new idea. They are swapping to a 3-4, they have no starting tackles, no serviceable QB, and they choose to grab a luxury running back when they already have 2 One Thousand yard backs. I just cant really get into this now. I sit here and listen to AM Sports Talk to listen to Rome, and get the Bills updates.

Innovator 04-23-2010 03:19 PM

I hope Spikes falls to the Giants, or Reese trades up to get him, WE NEED AN INSIDE LINEBACKER GOD DAMMIT GOD DAMMIT

Supreme Olajuwon 04-23-2010 03:37 PM

I know Buffalo is in a position where the fans won't care unless they get a name-brand QB, but I really think they'd be better off waiting a little bit. I really don't think any of the QBs in this draft stand out, so I don't see why Buffalo can't pass on an expensive choice like Clausen and settle for an equally talented guy like Dan LeFevour later on.

I think in the end they would accept no qb, should they have sufficiently addressed need positions.

This is a Team who since 2003 has drafted 3 RBs in the first round....

That is now how you build a team.

They had a Pro Bowl Travis Henry (Pre downfall) and they went cute and drafted McGahee.

Then they trade that 1st round RB for two 3rd round picks, and spend another first to replace him.

Now we have 2 top 12 picks in the backfield, plus a 1000 yeard back from last year who is the starter! THey are just spinning their tires. Now they have no leverage in trading Lynch, and will be lucky to get a 5th since people know he is on the way out.

Its not about passing on a QB, its about watching evbery other team in the East improve, and the Bills have only been sliding backwards for 15 years. New Regime comes in, and makes the same mistakes.

I actually would have been ok with the top 3 picks being a OT, NT and WR and gave Brohm and Edwards one last chance with a new system and nabbed a Locker or Mallet next year...

But this was just pure ass

Hanso Amore 04-23-2010 03:54 PM

Lets look at the Bills last 6+ drafts.

2003 Willis McGahee Miami (FL) Running Back
2004 Lee Evans Wisconsin Wide Receiver
2004 J.P. Losman Tulane Quarterback
2005 No 1st Round Pick, Roscoe Parrish (2nd Round) Miami (FL) Wide Receiver
2006 Donte Whitner Ohio State Safety
2006 John McCargo North Carolina State Defensive Tackle
2007 Marshawn Lynch California Running Back
2008 Leodis McKelvin Troy Defensive Back
20091 Aaron Maybin Penn State Defensive End/Outside Linebacker
20091 Eric Wood Louisville Center
20101 C.J. Spiller Clemson Running Back

Not one Pro Bowl player.

Maybin barely saw the field, and the Jury is out, but he looks like he could bust. Wood is Solid. WHitner is the block, and is Lynch. If both get traded that means only

McKelvin, Wood, Evans and Spiller would still be Bills. How can you miss that much? The 2nd round is even worse.

7 Drafts, and only 7...maybe less depending on expected cuts and retirements, players remain from the first 2 rounds.

ClockShot 04-23-2010 03:56 PM

One pick in round 2, 2 in round 3. Unless McDevil is gonna pull more hijinks today, I'd like somebody, hell anybody for defense. Got the WR, got the unnecessary 3rd QB.

Tebow is going to start a new "Leadership" position.

ClockShot 04-23-2010 07:06 PM

Round 2 is underway.

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 07:22 PM

Yeah, this Claussen thing has really gone from funny to kinda sad.

He can go anywhere but KC and Oakland and I'll cheer for him

ClockShot 04-23-2010 07:25 PM

Clausen better do some last minute flirting on Erin Andrews while he still can. Unless she left him already.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-23-2010 07:37 PM

Nasty Nate Allen to the Eagles. Great pick. That dude eats cocktail fruit.

ClockShot 04-23-2010 07:39 PM

Jim Brown. Is this important?

ClockShot 04-23-2010 07:40 PM

Nope. Guess not.

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 07:44 PM

Happens when it's possible. Floyd Little will announce Denver's pick regardless of whatever it

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 07:52 PM

If Claussen doesn't go to Oakland, I can't see him going until Carolina at 16. After that maybe the 49ers at 17 or Arizona at 26

ClockShot 04-23-2010 07:57 PM

Let's kill some time and I'll ask this:

Who's gonna be this year's Graham Harrell?

Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, or Tony Pike?

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 08:03 PM

Holy clusterfuck, this is looking shitty on the NFL's behalf. How the hell can Denver pick when Baltimore and Oakland's picks haven't been announced?

McLegend 04-23-2010 08:05 PM

Is there any player that Jon Gruden doesn't love?

FearedSanctity 04-23-2010 08:05 PM

Per Schefter's Twitter:

Zane beadles to Denver. #nfldraft

Crimson 04-23-2010 08:13 PM

I wonder how Kiper feels..his 4th overall best player in Clausen is still on the board lol
