Juan 10-19-2011 11:10 PM

Why?

Xero 10-19-2011 11:12 PM

People always associate December with ice cream.

Not complaining, because by then it'd have been long forgotten anyway. Just making an observation.

Emperor Smeat 10-19-2011 11:19 PM

NXT was pretty good this week and the crowd itself seemed to like the Divas and main event match the most with the clapping cheering. Didn't sound like the WWE went overboard a bit with potential pipping in crowd responses like during certain parts of RAW.

Would be amazing if somehow the WWE offered a WWE Ice Cream bar as the freebie offer for buying TLC in December. Might have some issues with the actual delivery of them but at least it would be a sign of someone actually makes them now and a matter of time till they go on sale.

There is another TLC poster out there claiming to be official. It has Randy Orton on it and a different TLC logo. But all the legal mumbo-jumbo that's at the bottom of the poster has "© 2009 WWE, Inc. All Rights Reserved" so it's obviously just a fan made poster.

News bits that don't deserve a full thread

Quote:

In recent weeks, we've seen a babyface turn and renewed push for one of the most physically jacked-up wrestlers to appear on WWE television in years - Mason Ryan.

According to sources in the WWE locker room, there is a great deal of skepticism about WWE pushing a guy who has a physique that's virtually impossible to maintain naturally. With WWE's strict Wellness tests, the superstars know what they can get away with and what they can't.

Mason Ryan has the body type that looks straight out of the late 80's & early 90's - and these days, the general feeling is that he wouldn't even have a job with the company if he didn't look the way he does, let alone get a huge push.

WWE went a long time without any Wellness suspensions - then we had Sin Cara, Mike Chioda, Darren Young and Heath Slater all get suspended for drug use. Many are questioning the decision to give a big push to a guy whose main selling point is his body.

Quote:

As previously reported, WWE will be airing another live episode of WWE SmackDown on Tuesday, November 29th from Charlotte, North Carolina. The show will replay several days later in SmackDown's usual Friday night timeslot. The last time WWE aired a live SmackDown on a Tuesday night, the show did its best ratings in years - and this upcoming live Tuesday SmackDown is another experiment to see whether the show should be moved to Tuesdays permanently.

As part of CM Punk’s new WWE contract, he gets first class plane tickets, which is one of the perks reserved only for a few top talents. Punk also now has his own tour bus.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is said to have a love/hate relationship with the divas division as of late. While Vince has mandated that both RAW and SmackDown each feature at least one divas segment each week, he often thinks it’s a waste of time and instructs Michael Cole to talk about unrelated topics during the diva matches.

Quote:

WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler is getting praised backstage regarding how he comes across like a star in his interviews. Additionally, Ziggler recently got some backstage praise for carrying Mason Ryan to a good match.

Expect to see more storylines begin and progress online - through the WWE website and Twitter. Friday's "Mask vs. Mask" match between the two Sin Caras are an example of an angle being announced online but not pushed on television.

Yep yep yep. From PWInsider:

WWE have applied to register two new trademarks - "Ryback" and "Avalanche".

Ryback looks to be a name for a new or existing character, while the description for Avalanche reads - "Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of a wrestling club; Entertainment services, namely, organizing and conducting an array of athletic events rendered live and recorded for the purpose of distribution through broadcast media; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a wrestler; Entertainment services, namely, providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of celebrities, entertainment, and popular culture."

Plus, the random posts will mean less videos per page, which will make the loading better.

Random thought I just had recently.

Could a Muhammad Hassan type character actually work if the guy himself actually tried the same promos about showing what is wrong with America without being either a minority, Muslim, anti-America character, or overtly preachy-style heel (ex. Jericho in the business suit)?

He'd still be a heel but wouldn't have the cheap way of getting heat by verbally attacking America or be a Muslim which is something fans booed Hassan for.

During an interview on the “Right After Wrestling” SIRIUS satellite radio show, Hulk Hogan predicted that Nielsen ratings would triple to a 3.0 on his debut appearance on TNA Impact on Monday January 4.

lol

Lock Jaw 10-21-2011 11:49 PM

April 6th, 1998 (The show where RAW beat Nitro for the first time since '96) results:

SPOILER: show
* NWA World Champion Dan Severn (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated Flash Funk via submission; Cornette did guest commentary for the match

* Steve Blackman defeated Brian Christopher via disqualification; after the bout, Tennessee Lee distracted Blackman while Jeff Jarrett snuck up behind him and blasted a guitar over Blackman's head

* Owen Hart defeated WWF IC Champion the Rock via disqualification at 5:47 when Chyna interfered as Hart had the Rock caught in the Sharpshooter and hit the challenger over the back with a baseball bat; Kama, Mark Henry, & D-Lo Brown escroted the champion to the ring before the match and were initially in his corner until they were ejected at around the 2:30 mark after the referee caught Kama attempting to interfere; after the bout, WWF European Champion Triple H, X-Pac, and WWF Tag Team Champions the Road Dogg & Billy Gunn appeared on the entranceway, with Chyna then walking up the aisle and past them to go backstage.

* Luna (w/ TAFKA Goldust) pinned Matt Knowles after TAFKA Goldust attacked Knowles before the match

* Ken Shamrock defeated Marc Mero via disqualification when the Nation interfered and attacked Shamrock

* WWF European Champion Triple H & WWF Tag Team Champions Billy Gunn & the Road Dogg defeated Chainz, Skull, & 8-Ball; after the bout, DX attacked DOA with chairs until the Legion of Doom made the save; X-Pac did guest commentary for the contest

Naturally, I assume that the ratings win was due to Steve Blackman.

Emperor Smeat 10-22-2011 12:04 AM

The amazing part of those ratings is even when the nWo and Goldberg were at the height of their popularity, WCW could only average the high 3s to high 4s for ratings (hit 6 once, and 5 a few times).

WWF on the other hand was able to maintain high 5s to low 6s as an average and then could hit a few 7s and 8s during their dominance which doubled WCW's best.
