See last year we replaced the "if we win promotion" to "when..."
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">When we win promotion, this is what we'll sing, we are Portsmouth, we are Portsmouth, Harry is our king
Well done Palace. Simon Jordan is still a cunt though.</font> |
Hey Rob, remember when you were losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and Jordan tapped Milan on the shoulder at half time and said "we'll see how good Harry is now, wont we?" and in the second half you went on and won 3-2 and Milan tapped him on the shoulder and said "Harry did okay, didnt he?"
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">yeah and all 3 goals were scored in like a 5 minute and they were all scored by defenders </font>
|
Simon Jordan is a cunt, but I don't care.
We are palace we are Palace of the premier league |
West Ham should have had a stone wall penalty.
Poll is another petty ref. Misses blatant decisions but he'll book you for kicking the ball away everytime. It seemed like he had that yellow card in his hand for the last 25 minutes of the match. Alan Pardew is so tactically naive that it's not funny. He should resign immediately. Palace will be rock bottom next season with the least amount of points any team in the Premiership has ever had. |
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">im not gonna make any predictions until I see who everyone buys.
Last season everyone said we'd struggle but we managed to stay up because we bought well, we'd probably have done better if we hadn't had such shitty luck with all our squad getting sick/injured/dying at the same time. So if they buy right, they could stay up.</font> |
Quote:
Also, like RBF said, before making predictions its always good to see who teams sign. |
Yeah, that did look like it was a penalty.
I said about Pardew being overrated,West Ham easily have the best squad in the division and playing Harewood out wide is very stupid. Also taking off all 3 forwards today was wrong, whether they'd done much or not i'd certainly rather have Deane knocking balls down for someone like Connolly than Hutchison. |
Rio Coker played well though.
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">wish we'd signed Reo Coker and McAnuff when we had the chance. But Franchise's adminsitrators started pissing about and it collapsed. McAnuff would've been great cover for Stone.</font>
|
Quote:
|
When Pardew subbed Zamora,Harewood and Connelly I was thinking does he want Palace to win, cause that was the worse tactical decision i have seen since Claudio Ranieri in the champions league semi final and yes it should have been a penalty but Palace got lucky, the sort of luck you need to win play off games.

I see your point. Just would never have brought Deane on.

i liked him when we had him but then again think he was past his best when we signed him, we should have signed him the season he scored the equaliser for leeds on last day of season to relegate us. since then he's not been as good. padrew should have left it as it was, they just had two goals disalowed and were on top of them so what do you do, i know and think it went like this: padrew: hey dowie i bet you a tenner i can throw this game dowie : your on padrew : ref sub im taking my strike force off dowie : god damn you to hell padrew here have your f**kin tenner, ill tell you what ill make it £20 if you take that twat connelly off he's playing well padrew : ref sub, david your off, don go on and dont touch the ball ok hutchinson : ok gaffer dowie : heres your other tenner *dowie leaves smilng to him self as may have lost £20 but realises will get a good bous for making his boses £30 million* *padrew looks like this :?: , o yeh  bye dowie ill see you next season* *dowie - * well i think it went something like that anyway |
It wasn't a penalty, the guy got the ball before the man

Dunno who made the challenge but Carrick went down on the inner edge of the box. No ball taken. Clearly chopped his ankle.
|
I'm a Crystal Palace supporter and I think it should have been a penalty, Thank You Graham Poll
|
I really must of been watching a different game, because I clearly saw Leigertwood touch the ball first
|
Your TV must be broke or you need thicker milk bottle lenses mate :p
|
Good for Palace, Alan Pardew is an arrogant little cunt who thinks he's hot stuff for taking good teams other people have built and getting them into the playoffs (not just West Ham but Reading also). Yes he's bought a few players but the basis of West Ham's team was there before he got there, with that squad they should've won Div 1 by a country mile. Now they're going to have to sell at least Carrick and they'll struggle to make the playoffs next year by my reckoning.
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">I agree 100% with that. With Defoe, Carrick, James, Repka, Conolly, Reo Coker and Harewood (okay, some of them arent premiership quality, but they're more than good enough for Div 1) they should've been challenging West Brom and Norwich.
Had Pardew stayed with Reading he would probably have done better than he did with West Ham, by leaving Reading he unsettled them and pretty much fucked up their season. Oh well *blows premiership bubbles with Harry Redknapp, Hayden Foxe, Shaka Hislop and Svetoslav Todorov*</font> |
Hayden Foxe
|
Just seen that penalty incident again, the defender did sort of brushed the ball but it wasn't clear contact with it,so it probably was a penalty.Palace defended well enough to have earnt the win though.
|
I dont think he did, and even if he did it was AFTER the contact with the player.
|
Lucio's joined Munich for 12 million turned Chelski down to stay in Germany

Doesn't really matter though. |
We should've got lucio :'(

Kluivert has rejected Middlesbrough, surprisingly.
He wants to play in London, and not for a small club before Spurs get too excited. In other words, he wants to play for Arsenal or Chelsea. |
He always has. I don't know why he keeps harping on about it, Arsenal would've shown some interest in the past 5 or so seasons since we tried to sign him and he said he'd rather play for them.
That was comedy though, he turns us down, we win the treble  |

Yeah i've seen Heinze play once, just looked like a solid defender.Mind you with Ferdinand back i'm not sure if he's really needed.
|
From what Ferguson was supposed to have said Heinze signing will put the emphasis on O'Shea to really step up and prove himself in one position as opposed to being more of a utility defender.
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">apparently Wolves are after Duberry. :o</font>
|
I wonder who Crystal Palace are going to try and sign? I would like Palace to sign the sort of players Bolton have got but wages will always be a problem? It's always fun been a Palace supporter :y:
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">I think the main thing you'll need is a good solid defence and a decent keeper. IMO it was letting in sloppy/late goals that cost Wolves and Leicester this season.
Also someone who'll get you a decent number of goals. And a fair bit of luck.</font> |

Claudio Ranieri will finally be put out of his misery today when he is sacked by Chelsea. Football365 can reveal that Ranieri has been summoned to Stamford Bridge, where he will finally be told his fate. This follows two meetings last week with first Peter Kenyon in London and then Roman Abramovich in Milan when he expected to be sacked, only to be find himself talking about tactics. But after Chelsea got assurances from Porto boss Jose Mourinho at the weekend, they are now free to dispense with Ranieri's services. Mourinho will be officially unveiled as new Chelsea boss within the next 48 hours. Ranieri is expected to walk away with an £8m pay-off - £6m for the remaining three years of his contract and an extra £2m to allegedly prevent him publicising details of his treatment at the club. --------------------------- Well it's finally happened hope he gets another job soon. |
Unlucky and very lucky Claudio Ranieri, I wish I had all that money.
Ok question for everyone:- Where do you think Claudio Ranieri's next job will be? |
:'( Save Claudio.
I always liked the guy, he gets on really well with the players and this is going to damage the moral of the team. The main players that don't get on with him are Mutu and Hasselbaink, and its hardly a fucking shame if Jimmy was to piss off anyway. |
Hasselbaink is such a whiney twat and what happened to Mutu? he just couldn't score.

ok now it looks as though Rivaldo's move to Bolton is off and he's going to Qatar.Though seeing as it was yesterday that it was reported that it was back on i'm not sure now.:$
|
Why would Rivaldo want to go to Qatar? apart from the money of course? Rivaldo is one of the best players I have ever seen well a couple of years back he was better, Maybe Rivaldo will come to Palace?
Bye Ranieri :wavesad: |
Money is all it's about anyway,he's proven himself in Spain at least.
|
Quote:
The guy is past it anyways. He got released from two of the biggest clubs in the world in the space of 2 years. The diving bastard only deserves the likes of Qatar. |
Well his agent claims he rejected Celtic because they offered him a trial, rather than a deal straight away.
He obviously went for Qatar for the money, why should he get less at a mid table side who will not be playing in Europe in the form of Bolton. As a Barcelona fan he's proved to me that he is a quality player. You can use that diving thing on so many players now that its untrue ,so that last comment is unjust. |
Agent claims. He forgot to mention he got offered 40k a week when Celtic were first interested and used that to get more out of Bolton. Celtic and Bolton got sick of waiting.
Diving comment is unjust? Oh come on! He got hit in the thigh with a ball at the World Cup and went down holding his face to get the guy sent off. And who else do I use diving excuses on? I'd rather play for Bolton for 25k a week than spend anytime playing in a Mickey Mouse league. If Bolton is good enough for Okocha and the rest then it's good enough for him. |
Yeah i was wrong about the diving thing,my bad.Just saying it's not only him so saying Qatar is all he deserves could be said about more people.
|
Yeah it could and in most cases, I'd say those who have went there aren't good enough for other decent leagues. I think the De Boer's and Batistuta possibly are but that's about it.
|
Qatar sports club must be the best team in their league, they have also signed Christoph Dugarry

Quote:
That's what i've been saying, that he's proven himself to me at least, aswell as to the rest of the world i should think,so he should go to Qatar to get the money. |

Then i watched the ice hockey.:$ |
Rafael Benitez is reportedly set to quit Valencia, most likely to take over at Liverpool.Thats on the BBC website but just checked teletext, which says he's resigned now.
Would be a good coup for Liverpool. |
Not really bothered to be honest, he seems like a good enough manager, of course I'd put O'Neill above him, but if the board think he'll do a good job, then I hope he does.

Yeah it was top, only goal of the match but it was good when it went in. Keeper had no chance. Anyone who plays championsip manager (especially online) will probably have heard of Diego and Robinho, and maybe Aurellio too. Me and Mask are now licenced to give opinions of them, judged on the match, and in my opinion Robinho will not make it bad, fair enough it was one game away in Columbia, but he had a great chance in the first half where he was just outside the six yard box and fluffed it, he didn't seem to do much else except a good run but his shot was blocked, and he dived twice. Diego was MUCH better, I can see him being snapped up over here, although as Forlan proved, people who play well in South America don't necessarily prove to be the man in England, so Diego might not be a hit, but his skills were quality last night, he is really creative and definitley deserved a goal, I would like to see Chelsea give him a chance, but I think he would be better at a mid table club to start with. Aurellio was always getting involved and hardly put a foot wrong, he is a solid tackler and is also very good going forwards, pretty good to watch. Paulo Cesar is also the man, looked quite creative and linked up with Diego well. And yeah Valencia's manager looks like he is going to go to Liverpool after quitting Valencia today despite being offered a better deal. |
Yeah we've got this pretty big online game going and Mask has signed Diego and Robinho.:'(
That said he is now trying to get rid of them.:$ |
Yeah thats why I mentioned those two, Diego is the man, maybe Robinho just had a mare, I dunno. Mask was ranting on about how good Robinho is hyped up to be in real life and all this about how good he will be, and then he was like, Diego and Renato are also the men on Champ, but I don't even remember Renato. I think Diego will make it big, and Aurellio too, he looks like he'd be good in Europe too.
|
Remember when Diego was going to go to Spurs? Good job that deal collapsed.http://tpww.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif
|
I saw Tevez playing the other day, he reminded me of Hasselbaink with 10x as much skill
|
Tevez isn't even in the top five goal scorers in the Argentinian league. Tevez dominated their game last Thursday in the Quarters of the Copa Libarodores against Sao Caetano, but he just couldn't get a goal. Antonio Barijho scored with his second touch after coming on as a sub. But yeah Tevez was pretty damn hot, and schelloto down the wing, he played well too. Tevez has been linked with Man United in the past.
I forgot all about Diego being linked with Spurs before. |

Haha yeah I phoenetically spell them because I don't knw how you spell them either. River Plate beat Boca 1-0 but I didn't see the game.

Yeah I have clips of the fans, they aint doing anything stupid, they are just really load and in effect. I've never heard of the super something that they call it, but in South America it is viewed as the best derby in the world. I can't give an opinion yet, but I will do after the semi finals of the copa libaratores semi finals. At the moment I think that Barca Madrid is the best derby.

On a different note, Claudio :'( (who I can see going back to Valencia now). Since they've already done it, here half-inched from football365, some of Ranieri's finest quotes :'(:'(:'( "If it is the case that you need just a first 11 and three or four more players, then why did Christopher Columbus sail to India to discover America?" "Football managers are like a parachutist. At times it doesn't open. Here, it is an umbrella. You understand, Mary Poppins?" "Damien is Damien. When I don't put him in the squad my mother, who's 84, asks 'why isn't Damien playing?' She kills me about it and that's true" "My only technical adviser is my mother. When I told her that Damien had injured his shoulder again, she said 'oh no!' Who should replace him? I will call her before the game to ask." "He's a crazy man" - Ranieri on Ranieri. "They showed good stamina and good vitamins" - The Arsenal win explained. "Before you kill me, you call me the 'dead man walking'. I must buy you an espresso. But only a little one - I am Scottish!" "Two years ago I watched Carlton play for the reserves and I saw two animals in him - one was a rabbit and the other a lion. I want to see that lion come out in him more often" - Ranieri on Carlton Cole. "He is my new little lion. And I like lions" - Ranieri on Hernan Crespo. "He is like a shark, like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink" - Ranieri on Mutu. But then... "I once said Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is like a shark and Carlton Cole like a lion. Well, Adrian Mutu is another born predator. In fact, Mutu is like a snake" - Ranieri changes his mind and completes his zoo. "I am happy when our fans are happy, when our players are happy and our chairman is on the moon" "One coach was training a player's hair, and another was training another part of his body" "One beautiful day, a radiant day, Mr Abramovich introduced himself to me and said I should put a shopping list together" "When I talk to the players I speak first of all in English, then I say 'sorry, now I will speak in Spanish, or Italian. Then on the touchline I speak another language so the other manager doesn't understand what I am saying!" "When are you coming, Sven?" - Ranieri's words of greeting to Sven when the two met at Highbury last season. "I can't change now. I'm like Frank Sinatra - I always do it my way. I told the players everything I did in the Monaco game was wrong. I changed things to win the match - but we lost and I was thinking "Oh f*** Claudio, why, why? Bad Tinkerman!" "I think Veron is the best midfielder in the world" |
