lol they are killing Bynum for not helping out on Amari. Here's an idea... How bout Pao Gasol play defense. I dunno. Crazy thought there.
Kobe came to play
Channing came to shoot

go make a .gif out of that

There is no way the Lakers will NOT adjust to the Suns' zone D for the rest of the series.
It's kind of inexcusable to not have adjusted already, tbh. |
Very inexcusable. Every player in the NBA has made basketball their lives, so there is no excuse for lacking adjustements.
These past two games are frustrating as shit. 1) Suns are clogging the lane with the zone, making our strength (post scoring, size) all the harder 2) at the very least, there is NO excuse for letting the opposite team get offensive boards. Thats just the bigs being lazy as shit. 3) these fouls are fucking ridiculous, alot of been good calls, but it seems like the Lakers cant play defense in fear of a foul being called (which i dont blame them). Also, the zone defense is prone to foul commitment, so either the ref's arent paying enough attention to that, or the Suns play the cleanest, greatest zone D in nba history. |
I hear Dragic will be accepting the NBA Conference Finals Game 4 Trophy tonight.
did u guys see the game tonight
pretty cool |
I need Robin Lopez reactionface.jpg
aaaaaaaaaand we got a series
The big Laker shots that were going thier way in Games 1 and 2 didn't fall last night. Lots of missed 3's at the end and missed FG's. The Suns defended Gasol really good. The move Dragic put on Fisher (I think it was him) was amazing. And 1
Dragic absolutely made Fisher and Odom look silly. More so Fisher than anyone else.
That 2nd quarter was absolutely the most entertaining quarter of basketball I have ever watched |
Children of Odom
Lamar Odom is married to the fat Kardashian. Come on.
Would love it if Boston blew this 3-0 lead.
I'd love it more

If Perk can't play in the next game I've lost all faith in David Stern and the refs
nah, they'll retract at least the 2nd tech from last night
Bullshit call on Rondo too. I'm not saying the Celtics wouldn't have lost anyways, but there was some garbage officiating going on.
Magic vs Suns in the finals would be kind of hilarious at this point.
They rescinded Perk's T
I'm actually surprised the one Techincal got rescinded. I mean both should be rescinded.
Since Stern has been such a defender of the referees. I'm surprised he would admit they are actually aren't infalliable when there is so much attention on them. |
Not surprised since earlier in the series they also rescinded any punishment on Howard elbowing people even though he's still elbowing people (KG in Game 3). Would have created a big dilemma for suspending Perkins but not Howard.
Kobe fucking Bryant
Ewww Alvin Gentry

you make no sense Wadding. Also, that was not a foul...if thats a foul, that would be called 90% of the time.
...and that sure as shit was a travel.
double technicals are so stupid. They need to call a T on whoever is more engaged than the other, be it verbally or physically.
wow, wonderful decision Mr. Artest
I love Ron Artest.
BOARD
That was sick
wow, reigning 3's
That was great.
yknow, is it not a rule of thumb that long shots = long boards? Where the shit was any of the Laker guards around the top of the key? Fucking baffling.
Also, i say againt...wonderful decision Mr. Artest...lord knows we didnt need all that time on the clock. |
lol.....wonderful decision Mr. Artest!
That was so fuckin lucky
holy shit ron artest
saw that coming
i knew Ron would pull it off....i had faith in his offensive ability.
Wow, Suns did great on the inbound defense and then just stood there once the shot went.

awesome game...Lakers blew some big plays, but so did the Suns. This series isnt over, far from it. The Suns fought back tooth and nail
Next game should be interesting...hell, they might even call a travel on Steve Nash once in the game.

just read on the ticker on ESPN that Lebron, Wade and Joe Johnson are going to talk to each other first before deciding what to do.

Richardson hitting that 3 pointer was one of my biggest mark out moments ever. But that was a shitty ending.

Kobe fucking Bryant
Game 1: 40 pts/5 rebs/5 asts/1 stl on 13-23, 3-6 from three Game 2: 21 pts/13 asts/5 rebs on 8-18 Game 3: 36 pts/11 asts/9 rebs on 13-24 Game 4: 38 pts/10 asts/7 rebs on 15-22,6-9 from three Game 5: 30 pts/11 asts/9 rebs/4 blks on 12-27,4-10 from three the real "king" |
Well the "king" is gettin ready to have a meeting with Wade, Johnson, and Bosh, Bryant is winning games in the playoffs. Suck it LBJ.
Why is everybody so hostile towards Lebron James?
I'm not, I just think it gets tiring hearing how great he is, and how he's the best, when he hasn't won anything yet. Yeah he's been to the finals, and then got swept.

It took Jordan until he beat the Pistons in 1990/91 to earn the title of superstar/great player and by then his NBA career was about 6-7 years. |
People sing the praises of Kobe non-stop everyday all the time as well. The Lebron thing has never really bothered me, I dunno. He is going to be one of the greatest of all time, I just don't see the issue here.
Quote:
Am I supposed to ignore that and only focus on Lebron enthusiasts because they annoy you? Come on now...
its the fact that he is praised for essentially accomplishing nothing. He's praised as the next coming of Jordan and the savior of (insert franchise here), when he is just a physically gifted athlete. Like i said in an earlier post, his scoring and assists come from him driving the basket, not from him making Steve Nash type passes and Ray Allen type shooting.
i cant stand Pierce...he's such a fucking girl.

:D
Magic fell apart once Celtics showed the same toughness and defense pressure as in Game 3. They let Howard get his stats but stopped the rest of the team aka the Lebron defense. Didn't think going into the playoffs they would be this dominate but then again they also got healthy when needed and won the critical road games. |
Quote:
Semantics is how you're going about this then? Good job.
Because those two things in the given context don't mean exactly the same thing or anything...
Having such impressive stats apparently isn't an accomplishment. Nor is winning MVP. |
Pierce was pretty awesome tonight.
And I really want to learn Rondo's little "cuff the ball" move. He must have some big hands to do that. Oh by the way, I learned yesterday that Rondo is going to be practicing at the basketball facility I play at this summer. would be pretty cool to see him in person. Maybe he can teach me the "cuff" |
The dude has E.T. like fingers, no way anyone can just 'cuff' it

James is a good player, no question. What the problem is is that he is not the perfect amalgamation of every NBA great in history. He is not Voltron like most try to make him out to be. He doesnt have the greatest shooting touch, he doesnt make the greatest passes, he doesnt have Dennis Rodman type instincts. He is an athletically gifted player. Big, strong, and fast...which is why (once again, if you watched any basketball) you see him drive the lane to get his point/assists more than shoot the ball. And accomplishing and 'doing something' is different. Fucking Darrel Armstrong 'did something' enough to be a star for Orlando years back by leading his team in scoring, but what did he accomplish? |
lol, I watch "any" basketball. Is this your way of trying to null and void my argument?
I'd rather be talking to SammyG right now. This is what you've done to me. Congratulations. |
And Lebron vs Kobe is just a terrible way of looking at things in the first place. Kobe has been pampered with stars almost every season since he's been in the league. He's had a hell of a supporting cast of all stars helping him all along the way. LeBron James has carried his team on his back for years now.
I said it once, I'll say it again. If you put LeBron James on ANY team, they are instantly playoff contenders. |
Narc, you have the most annoying way of arguing ever.
I just find it weird for Lakers fans to say that they are tired of hearing the praise of LeBron James being sung all the time when we've had to have Kobe shoved down our throats forever. It's like people want to ignore that there is a battallion of fans jacking off to Kobe's every move as well.
Instant Classic is not a Laker fan and no one mentioned Kobe until you did.
Meanwhile Dwayne Wade toils away in relative obscurity
We talked about the same thing like two pages ago. I suppose I'll forget the conversation we were having?
you see the problem with most Cavs 'fans' and people who watch a game here and there dont do is see the man for the skills he has. They hear a name, and hear the hype from Nike, see the commercials from Gatorade, or the stupid ass rap songs with Lil Wayne, and go 'wow, this guy must be the greatest' because they are show some highlights of his plays.
Wonderful, the guy can do some crazy stuff, but so can many MANY other players in the league who dont even get half the attention James does. He is projected as a gift from the basketball gods to single handedly dominate everyone in the league, and turn a piss poor franchise into some sort of contender. The second part is relatively accurate. A player of his skill level can definitly change your teams fortunes...not all by his lonesome though. The first part is a crock of shit. Any individual who watches basketball for the game, not the player, will say exactly what i have said about James' skill set. But anyone else will say the guy is going to be the greatest of all time. Is he effective? Yes. Is he gifted? Yes. Nobody is downplaying his effectiveness as a player, we are simply stating that his stat line, as impressive as it may be, is not because the shit people say it is. He didnt dish out 12 assists by threading a needle between two defenders like Steven Nash, he did that be driving the ball, passing it to whoever left their man to close in on him, and his teammate hitting the open shot. He didnt score 40 with double teamed fadeaways like Kobe, or three point daggers like Ray Allen...he did it by getting to the line, and driving the lane. It doesnt make him a bad player, it just doesnt make him what everyone imagines him to be. |
The same thing has been said by Lakers fans tons of times in this very thread. It's just silly that Lakers fans, of all people, would complain about one player is getting too much attention.

LeBron has carried his teams but it's gotten him nowhere. LeBron may be able to take any team to the playoffs, but again, without a supporting cast he'll never win a championship. |
