It's whatever. He doesn't like AEW, it really doesn't matter of he does or not. I think he's very frustrated with Wrestling j general which I totally understand, and specifically with AEW because his hope for something that would satisfy him here shattered early on.

I also have some major issues with the state of pro wrestling. For me the major problem is the PWG style influence which is a double edged sword for me. One side super cool and fun and the other super fake and inconsistent. However I was really pleased with the majority of this week's Dynamite except the women and headed to St. Patrick's Day Slam I'm definitely into it. I will say I have no interest in watching Dark: Elevation though based on the matches announced.

Xrod at least does continue to watch AEW which I didn't realize until recently so I actually appreciate his point of view because it's at least fair. Ultimately I just want to say don't engage in a conversation that is going to derail a topic. This page is actually a lot better when we have actual debates and don't get into personal attacks.

AEW do need to step up their presentation in terms of audio, camera cuts, blocking and branding. A lot of it comes across as subpar when compared to WWE or even TNA Impact from the mid ‘00s.

This is their biggest, glaring flaw. Reminds me almost exactly of WCW.

They’ve taken the worst parts of WCW, TNA, ECW, PWG and the WWE and rolled it into this weird wannabe hybrid.

Take even just the MJF segment this week:

WCW: The story doesn’t make sense. Why did MJF join the Inner Circle when he just wanted his own group all along.

TNA: So much going on and it all looked so silly. Lots of of WWE rejects flopping around.

ECW: The lights off/lights on trope — WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!!!

PWG: The self-indulgent nature of it, the crowd marking out to see themselves marking out.

WWE: “The Chairman” Shawn Spears taking it to Sammy Guevara! The commentary is so fucking awful.

That’s just one segment, and it was possibly one of the best ones on the show.

I don't know, I can't really buy the "WWE Reject" thing. I suppose if their entire roster was only that, that would be a little lame. The idea that if someone worked for WWE that they can never work for another televised wrestling show, that's silly. Thwre's only like 4 or 5 "non-indie" promotions thay aren't WWE, the guys thay want at least some sort of exposure/pay are going to go to one of them. I kind of look at AEW like it's if NJPW, AAA, WWE, Impact, and the Indies all had an interconnected battleground. There's guys from everywhere.

TNA was probably the most egregious with that. At one point their entire roster was mostly old WCW/WWE guys and they weren't pushing their home grown guys much at all. So far AEW is not that and let's hope it never becomes that. Seems like probably not from the mix of talent they have.

It's real critism, I've never said something AEW did was bad but really secretly liked it.

But yes, people get worked up over nothing.

Look at Slik over in the ratings thread. Despite him being one of the best posters here, I made a comment that Dynamite couldn't even get a Million rating with Shaq and Big Show because it's funny.

Slik deleted my comment and locked the thread. That is not a logical response to somebody joking about AEW missing 1 million viewers by 26,000 people.

It's just easier to say somebody is "trolling" when they have a different view instead of trying to have an actual discussion. Do I get bored and lean into being a little extra, guilty. Do I get annoyed and a little less fun once in a while, also yes.

None of that changes the actual issue that if I say something negative about AEW, it's because I didn't like something they did, and if I joke about something AEW did, it's because I thought it was funny. There is no reason for anybody to get as upset as they do.

I don’t expect Ross to be aware of Christian’s music but JFC his blabbering on Dynamite was atrocious. Not Todd Grisham level bad but still horrendous.
