The farm system has been decimated for 5 years and they have nothing to build with at this time. I mean it's hard not to trust Atkins/Shapiro (particular Shapiro) given the chicken shit he was able to turn into chicken salad with Cleveland. I don't expect this season to be great, but he seems to be a big picture guy. At the end of the day, the hitting was abysmal last year helped by wonderful pitching, and they have pretty much the same pitching and the hitting won't get worse. Yeah you miss Eddie, but you have to imagine at some point down the line in the next few years they pick up someone else with that same sort of stank on their bat.
