BORO FACE FIGHT TO SIGN DICKOV info from :
http://www.skysports.com/skysports/a...137677,00.html wtf i hope thats a fight we lose! |
Dazz 3:16 :shifty: Anyway just spent 30 minutes watching that press conference with Mourinho, and i have to say that i like him.:$ He's said he'll look to cut the squad down in numbers, amongst other things, but his ambition so far is to win the first premiership match. |
Oh yeah Dickov is the man,Doink.I believe he scored more than any Boro forwards and he'd be a good foil for someone like Viduka,if he arrives.
People say they dislike Dickov but once he plays for your club or country then your opinion will change,he gives 100% every game and is one of a few to do so. |
*knew that penalty against Man City was going to be saved*
|
That was his first miss for us,yet probably the only penalty he'll be remembered for.:'(
|
Such is life
|
Staying up late is quality,in the last 2 days i've seen 2 pretty good football programmes.
|
Quote:
i have nothing against dickov, i liked him when he was at man city and thought they shit on him a bit considerin the amount of goals he scored for them. the thing is he's not what we need and to be honest viduka can be a liability and dont really want him either. id like to see us try and sign beattie or gudjohson (spelt wrong but chelsea forward) but that wont happen. its looking more and moe likly that mclaren will try and raid man u again and go for ole gunner & forlan but id have neither, i suppose id take ruud but only if it was very cheap as he isnt much of a team player and doesnt score enough for me :shifty: |
latest from boro is we are set to open talks with viduka this week while birmingham have apparently opened talks with danny mills. we are also being strongly linked with melchiot and mark delaney of villa to fill the gap left by mills. personally i wouldnt sign either and id give stuart parnaby his chance to establish himself.
also i got this from the local papers website : Mystery surrounds Massimo Maccarone's return to Teesside this week. The Italian striker flew back to Rome at the end of the season and was not expected back in Middlesbrough until the start of pre-season. But he has been spotted by several Boro fans. Boro declined to comment today on the reason for Maccarone's return. |
Dickov has agreed to join Blackburn anyway.
|
i think he was only linked to us as a joke anyway in the wake of kluivert transfer talks. hes ok but we didnt need him as we already have one forward like that who injury free will hopefully come good next year and that is malcum christie.

I tell ya this Mourinho's a character.
|
Mourinho likes a good old war of words. It will be good to see a feud between him and Fergie. I would say him and Wenger, but Fergie speaks his mind more.
|
He's already had a feud with Fergie, this season. They made up afterwards.
But apparently it was Fergie who recommended him to Abramovich's advisors. |
Well, Abramovichs main advisor is Kenyon, surely Fergie and Kenyon arent talking.
I didn't think they made up after their feud, and it wasn't that big a feud because it didn't last long, this could be a season long feud, I hope we play Man United at the start of the season, that should ensure a feud is underway quickly. I think we would have got Mourinho in charge anyway, even if Fergie didn't reccomend him. |

Quote:
Ferguson and Mourinho apparently made up after their Champions League tie socially, with a couple of drinks. |
Yeah I know that Zahavi is Abramovich's main man, he's the guy that sorted out the takeover deal with Bates,. That actually makes alot of sense about Fergie saying that.
I'm really not convinced that they will stay as friend, I think that they will still give it the whole war of words even if they do like each other. |
Quote:
I thought you might have heard of him, because Chelsea were heavily linked with him last season. I remember reading a few quotes from the guy, but I can't find them now, showing how insane he is. Luis Fabiano at Sao Paulo is another class young Brazilian attacker. Look out for Cavenaghi at River Plate too, he's an excellent young Argentinian striker. Carlos Tevez at Boca is great too. I usually see the Brazilian football on C4 too, late at night, and catch the odd 'tinian game on C5. Usually after coming in from a night out at university. |
Yeah Jonathon Pearce sometimes hosts Argentina games on C5.
Tevez played well last week but he didn't score, Barijinho or something scored a quality goal with his second touch, United have been linked with Tevez in the past, I reckon he'll come to the Premiership soon. Not many players who have played for Boca seem to make it though, Batistuta, Samuel, Veron, Maradona and I guess you could say Palermo too. I don't remember being linked with Nilmar, but we have been linked with so many people I tend to ignore speculation and just read whats on the official Chelsea website. Some guy on this other forum I post on has his name as Fernando Cavenaghi and needless to say is a River Plate fan, he always raves on about how good he is. |
Luis Fabiano at Sao Paolo looks pretty good too.
|
Quote:
|
Would love to see some of that Mourinho press conference.
From what I've read he seems like a really passionate guy. He talks the talk for sure, teamwork, commitment etc, I like it. |
That Fabiano from Sao Paulo is being linked with Barcelona, who just seem to be replacing those Dutch players with Brazilian ones.:-\

Boro are now said to be monitoring the Henri Camara situation now that celtic have declared intrest in him, word has it he is only about 4th choice on our list behind Kluivert, Viduka and Yakubu. (aparently the list has about 15 forwards on it )
|
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">Kluivert has already said he wont come, same with Yakubu. I honestly see Wolves sticking to their guns on Camara. They dont NEED to sell him and they're only going to let him go if someone offers stupid money. It seems like his agent is trying to drum up interest, thats all, the player seemed happy to stay with Wolves.
You might get Viduka, depending on if you'll pay his wages and who else goes in for him.</font> |
Well Camara did have a transfer request rejected.:$ But first division football wouldn't seem to affect his international career.
|
and kluivert talks are apparently 'on going' according to our cheif executive and pompy only have half of yakubu's contract and we are apparently talking to his 'other' club! what would happen if two english teams bought half his contract each does anyone know if this is allowed and if it is how it would work?
viduka is in talks, long gone are the robson here have however much you want days, we now have a wage structure and chairman stevie gibson has gone on record to say this wont be broke for any player! so he'll have to take what we offer or go to a diff club, dont think many teams can afford to pay him what he gets at leeds! |

WTF at Spurs appointing the French National coach.
How bizzare. |
lol damn,just saw that.
Pretty hard to believe. |
Kinda shocked at that one too.
|
Kevin Hofland signed for Wolfsberg. That guy was wanted by like every team in the Premiership within the last 2 years. What the hell happened?
Oliver Khan also linked the Man United. Can't see why. |
Wolfsburg signed D'Alessandro too, who is one of Argentina's brightest young prospects, last summer. Don't know how they do it, really.
|
Nobody in Italy were really signing South American youngsters last season and you can't get work permits for them in Britain. I know Man United wanted him.
|
It's possible get work permits if a player is highly rated enough, especially if they are very young, but it's an awkward process.
Probably just saw that Aimar and Saviola haven't really lived up to their promise yet, despite the huge fees. |
yeah, we signed a sixteen year old from sao paulo a whileback, but he's on loan there til he's 18 or something. i'm not sure how that works though.
|
united and Arsenal have a genius way of avoiding the work permit problem. They sign youngsters and loan them to Belgium clubs and then once they have played enough they get a permit and come ton england. Arsenal loaned out like 10 players to the same Belgian club the other season.
|
yeah it's our link club, antwerp.
We're also linked with Watford and Sporting Lisbon, apparently, which is why we got first dibs on CRISTIANO MOTHERFUCKING RONALDO WOOOOOO. watford is a questionable one though. |
Michael Chopra :y:
Oh wait no he was on loan to them from us ahahha. :D Wait hes pritty shit :(. |
Quote:
|
I think it's Watford, I read about it a while back... one of the league clubs in england are our feeder club anyway.
And i don't mean Leeds *rimshot* |
Apparently you can't have feeder teams in the same country.
Seba Veron has just signed for Inter on a years loan. |
Quote:
|
Maybe they figured he could well be crap, and so didn't want to take the risk of paying full wages(assuming they aren't) or a fee.:-\
|
Or more like no club in the world would be stupid enough to pay Veron the money he's on now, considering he more than likely gets upwards of £70000 a week, on top of a transfer fee.
Plus there's the whole being shit/crocked all season :$ |
Veron is a good signing for Inter, if he gets fit for next season. Veron, Toldo, Cannavaro, Javier and Cristian Zanetti, Coco, Ivan Cordoba, Adriano, Martins, Recoba, Van Der Meyde - fine side.
|
He's on about £90,000 at Chelsea,so i dobut Inter are paying all his wages.
|
Veron is reportedly on £90,000 a wekk at Chelsea
He has taken a pay cut to go to Inter on a season long loan, Chelsea are paying him sweet F.A |
LOL that Brazil one 3-1 and Ronaldo scored a hat trick...all from the penalty spot, I have to see this game.
|
Izzet has officially signed for Birmingham.
Arsenal have let David Bentley go on loan to Norwich. French national team coach Jacques Santini has signed on as coach of Tottenham. |
[QUOTE=Mr. Monday Morning]:foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc::foc:QUOTE]
is this because camara's only 4th choice on our list or just because his agent claims he wants to leave? he look ok towards end of season but think he's a bit to similar to joseph desire job to be a signing that would improve our team, if we do sign him i hope he proves me wrong, defo think if he stays with wolves he'll get at least 15- 20 goals next season. so danny mills is apparently pissed off because he's read somewhere (in the daily telegraph) that we have accused him of having high wage demands and thats why we havent been able to do a deal for him. come on danny you off all people should know you dont believe everything you read. if this was the case then it would have been all over the local papers and there has been nothing in them. also St ettinne are chasing job, but we are hopeful of keeping him that is all for now  |
I think Wolvs should just give it up and let him go.:shifty:
Apparantely 5 premiership club,Portsmouth,Miiddlesbrough,Charlton,Bolton,Blackburn, aswell as Celtic. I think Miller and Cort would still be more than good enough for Division 1 anyway, they can use the money to maybe replace Rae,or save for if they get promotion. |
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">I dunno about Miller. Ive read things about his attitude :$
Wolves had all their debts written off by Jack Hayward and they've got 2 years worth of parachute payments coming their way now they've been relegated, they don't need to sell Camara. Of those clubs mentioned, none are going to pay the kind of transfer fee Wolves want for him. They bought him for £1.6M or something and want "stupid money". Out of all those clubs, only Middlesbrough are really going to pay a huge transfer fee for someone. Someone should just give him and his agent a slap, tell them to grow up and stop crying, once he's scored 30 goals next season and he's collecting the golden boot, i doubt he'll be whinging then.</font> |
|
Camara > Job
We're not selling, his agent needs to stfu for spreading shit Danny Mills is a cunt That about covers it |
We've been linked with Michael Bridges to replace Dickov:-\,there was also a story in the local paper saying we were interested in Nacho Novo too,who seems pretty good,as i'm sure Rob would testify to.;)
Queiroz has also agreed to return to Man Utd as assistant from July 1st,the same day that Muzzy Izzet will officially be a Birmingham player after agreeing to that move. |
Couple of players Everton have been linked with lately: Dominic Matteo & Robbie Savage (again)
|
Quote:
Of course, its all a matter of the team playing well together. |
<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">To be honest, if you buy Michael Bridges and play him in div 1 for a season and he stays injury free, he'll probably bag a few goals and get his touch back, which would be better for him than sitting on the bench for a premiership side.</font>
|
He's been linked with a few premiership clubs too,Fulham i think were one.I'm not worried about his talent, just his injury problems. To be fair he wasn't given much of a chance last year.
|
Quote:
|
id like to see if bridges can hack it in any division to be honest as i think he's over rated by a lot of people, he is injury free and has been for a while now but he cant get into any team and one that was struggling for goals and got relegated, if he was as good as they say why did they send him out on loan?
think if you do sign him he will just scape 10 goals in all comps next season. and before you all say it i know thats more than any boro strikers managed this season! also id say job and camara were similar in still of play from what ive seen, i only heard of camara over last 8 games of season when he finally broke his duck, saying that you prob never heard of job until he scored in cup final. i agree about camara's agent but if you get offered over £2.5m for him i think wolves would take it. danny mills was shit over the last 10 games adn cost us at least 4 goals as was not concentrating so to be honest he has prob played his way out of a contract. |

|
Oh yeah, about the only good player to come from Wolves.
Well, except Akinbyi :shifty: |
:'(
|
i was just pointing out they had robbie keane aswell as ronaldo and vieri, i think he's a decent player and his goal against holland was wicked, not the type id associate with him though, i see him as more of a box player when he scores, he dribbles it well and is normally within the box before he puts it in.
saying that i dont see him play enough to know if he does stuff like that all the time so im possible wrong, it was a good goal tho. no news from boro except nemeth looking at his options as to if he'll stay or go, hope he stays as i like him when he's played as a forward, too many times mclaren plays him out of position which makes him look bad. he's no terry henry but he's a good squad player! |
He should do it more often. That's the second time I've seen him score a goal like that for Ireland, where he takes his shot as early as possible. I can't remember who it was against before, but one time at Lansdowne Road he cracked one from even further out right into the top corner.

I'm positive Okocha has signed a new deal, and i think after his end to the season Djorkaeff has aswell.
Melchiot has been linked with Boro and Newcastle. |
Yeah I really don't think Okacha has left Bolton either.
|
i thought they had both signed, anyway pick a side from the released players above, mine would be:
...................................Rami Shaaban........................................ .Mario Melchiot...Ronny Johnsen...Emerson Thome...Danny Tiatto. .Jay-Jay Okocha...Muzzy Izzet...Emmanuel Petit...Darren Anderton. .........................Sylvain Wiltord...Les Ferdinand....................... subs: Nwankwo Kanu David Batty Youri Djorkaeff Bryan Hughes Barry Hayles i think thats a half decent side that would finish mid table, what do you guys think would make a better team. also Gary Smith was on loan to wimbledon last season so he will poss go back there, David Murphy was our only other left back so why theyve released him i dont know, parnaby and stockdale can play their but they are both right backs, our other left back options are frank quedrue (1st choice) and colin cooper also zenden if he signs but that means 1 natural left back with 2 right backs, a centre back and a left winger to cover left back next year. we either need to sign someone or promote david masters and matthew bates up from the youth squad! |
Yeah thats a hot team actually.
|
good mix of youth and experiance even though most of them are 30+ they could still do something! i also like my subs aswell as i have batty as a battling midfielder, kanu the skillful one, along with djorkaeff.
but my fav two on the bench are hughes and hayles, im suprised brum released him as think with right players around him he's quite handy to have in your team. Also hayles will put his head in anywhere and do anything to score for his team, i like his attitude and think whoever gets him will get their monies worth. id like to see darlington try and sign him to replace barry conlon who is leaving them. |
I'd rather have Djorkaeff up front then Les, and Poyet should at least be on the bench. Hayes is a dirty cunt and is also a prick, I hate him.
|
thats why i like him,he'd do anything for a goal, i dont like him playing agaisnt us but playing in my side think he'd be good.
put big les in for his arial ability so wiltord could feed off his, also scored some wicked free kicks this year. i thought about poyet but was thinking of overall age of team. what would your team be then? |
Pretty much the same as yours but with Poyet on the bench, Djorkaeff not Hayles, and Dublin at centre back.
|
:y: yeh i like dublin at centre back, i saw him play for cambridge and have liked him since, always thought he was unlucky at man u tho
|
Check out these guys http://www.steakandcheese.com/conten...type=1&page=26
|
That list looks to be players whose contracts were or are up, not players that have been released, so not all of them are available. I know for a fact we haven't released Butler (don't know why :nono: ) and Ganea
|
Quote:
And Akinbiyi wasn't 'ours' we bought him for £3.5m from Gillingham I think, anyway we sold him to Leicester for £5m (almost typed £5 there, would've been a more accurate valuatiion :$ ) |
I didn't know that, I always thought he was born and bred a Wolves player. Not a bad bit of business from you.
|
LOL £1.5m profit on Akinbiyi? Deal of the century if you ask me
|
Well, also the fact that he was good for you (from what I remember) and he had a cool celebration, the old throwing up a 'W' and then an 'M'
|
He was ok for Div 1 actually yeah, he normally just barged past people :$
