It better be good.

Disturbed316 08-28-2008 01:21 PM

Where's all that Offspring dlc they were talking about?

D Mac 08-28-2008 03:12 PM

Rumor at the Rock Band forums:

It looks like a Locksley three pack.

All Over Again
She Does
Don't Make Me Wait

Who... the fuck... is Locksley

Pegasus Crawford 08-28-2008 03:45 PM

I gave the tracks a listen. You know, just to be fair....

*listens for about 5 seconds each*

Yeah, ain't buying it.

Sucks that the Moving Pictures got delayed, but there's more albums on the horizon! (Don't know whether I should post this in the RB2 thread, since these albums will most likely be released when RB2 ships)

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/...and-2-ful.html
-Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape)
-Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)
-Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking)
-Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying)
-Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood)
-A specially-compiled No Doubt Best Of collection

D Mac 08-28-2008 03:49 PM

It's already in the RB 2 thread.

Sounds like the kind of music douchebags like Clox might listen to.

D Mac 08-30-2008 04:00 PM

This was in the Rock Band forums for DLC Tuesday:

PAX 3-PACK

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - "Shhh..."
Jonathan Coulton - "Skullcrusher Mountain"
MC Frontalot - "Livin' at the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe"

OFFSPRING 3-PACK

"Pretty Fly"
"Gone Away"
"Self Esteem"

Disturbed316 08-31-2008 05:44 PM

Offspring

Need more songs though

D Mac 09-01-2008 07:11 AM

Apparently Offspring has been moved back to "TBA". So they won't be coming out Tuesday.

Disturbed316 09-01-2008 03:27 PM

Kane Knight 09-01-2008 03:40 PM

You're kidding. Another delay?

D Mac 09-03-2008 02:29 AM

Did anyone get any of those new songs?

Disturbed316 09-03-2008 07:27 AM

I refuse to buy anymore till Offspring comes out

I was thinking about Skullcrusher Mountain.

Kane Knight 09-03-2008 06:05 PM

I've only played either on guitar. They're fun (My opinion), but "nothing special" comes to mind on both.

I broke down my drum set when I was cleaning, and haven't set it back up.

Anyway, I wouldn't want my money back on either, but it's not mind blowing content.

Don't be ridiculous, Wadding. Sascha likes to be bent over the kit.

After listening to This Calling, whic thanks for putting the vids up, Mac, I don't think I'd buy them for Rock Band, but I could see myself listening to them.

D Mac 09-05-2008 05:14 PM

Yeah I might get This Calling.

Disturbed316 09-05-2008 06:05 PM

WHERES MY OFFSPRING? :mad::foc::mad:

D Mac 09-05-2008 06:15 PM

It's sitting with my more Metallica. In limbo. :(

Blitz 09-06-2008 04:16 AM

Yeah gonna get This Calling for sure.

Kane Knight 09-06-2008 01:16 PM

hey D-Mac. We should play some time. I must warn you, though, I don't have any Metallica DLC.

D Mac 09-06-2008 04:36 PM

I'm getting ready to go out of town, but tomorrow evening maybe.

Kane Knight 09-06-2008 05:03 PM

As in Sunday? Sunday evening's probably fine for me....

darkpower 09-06-2008 11:28 PM

Even though I might not necessarily enjoy some of the songs I download, I do admit that they can pose a challenge. That and they are usually within packs that have those I do like (and I'm all for upping the available song count on my game).

I just hope they will add cross-platform multiplayer in RB2 (even though I know it probably won't be for a shitload of reasons). Would be nice to see which system has the better players.

darkpower 09-06-2008 11:41 PM

Oh, and I want more Killswitch. As much as I loved My Curse, it was already in GH3, and it seems like that's the only song any of these games think exists from them. ><

darkpower 09-06-2008 11:46 PM

By the way, this was posted I believe earlier today on the RB forums:

Quote:

PS3 Patch (and PAX Pack info) <hr style="color: rgb(102, 102, 102);" size="1"> Hi Everyone:

PS3 ROCK BAND DISC EXPORT TITLE UPDATE
First and foremost, we’re happy to announce that PS3 users will soon be able to export RB1 songs to their system in advance of the launch of RB2! A PS3 patch will be coming out this Thursday, September 11th, which will allow RB1 song export, in addition to updating DLC to our RB2 standards (so you can continue to rock the newer content in RB1 if you so choose!) This title update will also patch for the use of the Guitar Hero III Les Paul PS3 Controller with RB1 on the PS3. We're excited to release this, as controller compatibility is something we've been working towards for a long time.

This Rock Band 1 title update is set to come out next Thursday. As with the Xbox 360 Title Update, you will have to update Rock Band in order to play any DLC that is released after Thursday.

PAX PACK
This leads us to the PAX pack which was released yesterday on the PlayStation Store. Due to technical issues with the submission of "Livin on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe" by MC Frontalot, users who downloaded that track or the entire pack found that they were not able to play this content in the game. Furthermore, downloading the pack meant that all 3 songs in the pack failed to load.

We're aware of this issue and are taking multiple steps to fix it. We are resubmitting the tracks to Sony today and hope to have fixed content up on the PlayStation store as soon as possible. Users will then be able to replace the broken tracks by re-downloading this content for no additional charge. If you don’t feel like re-downloading this content and can wait a week, the title update that is launching on 9/11 will fix it automatically. We appreciate your patience.

Again, we're dedicated to bringing you the best in weekly content for any music game out there. We're transitioning from single title Rock Band DLC to a cross-title DLC system which will allow you to play your DLC in both Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 DLC (an industry first!), so we hope you can be patient as we figure out the little hiccups here and there.

ROCK,
HMX Community, PR, and Audio
The PAX pack I haven't gotten yet. But the GH3 controller becoming compatible (via Sony's new mandate)? FUCK YES!! About damn time SOMEONE made them do SOMETHING about it. I hope MS does something similar so the PS3 owners aren't the only ones that will be able to get this (assuming they didn't get a patch already. Don't know any news on this from MS's end).

EDIT:

Okay, saw this just now on the forums over there, too:

Hey all,

So there is a 360 title update coming out for Rock Band today, PS3 will follow and we'll let you know when we have an idea when it will drop. What's in it? A couple of things.

First of all - it updates RB1 so you will still be able to purchase DLC from the Rock Band store. Downloading this patch is required if you'd still like to do that.

Second - Lowers the threshold on gold stars making it easier/possible to gold star songs. This won't affect leaderboards as it only affects the threshold, not the score.

Third - Lately a few songs have had unhittable notes. This should be fixed now.

Lastly - It will allow you to export your songs from the RB1 disc to the hard drive for play in Rock Band 2. Official language follows for this feature-

Nominal fee of $4.99 (400 Microsoft points) required for export of Rock Band 1 soundtrack to compensate music licensors for expanded use.The following Rock Band disc tracks will not be available for export into Rock Band 2: * "Paranoid" as made famous by Black Sabbath, * “Run to the Hills” as made famous by Iron Maiden, and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. In addition, the title update will also be released simultaneously in Europe. Tokio Hotel’s “Through the Monsoon” from the European disc release of Rock Band will not be available for export into the future European release of Rock Band 2. (* Indicates a cover song, all other songs are original master recordings.) Expanded usage rights for these particular tracks were unable to be secured from the music licensors for this feature.

That didn't say anything about MS doing anything about the controller issue yet (why hasn't MS done this yet?). I think this one about the MS patch was what Mac posted already (at least part of it, not sure if he or anyone else posted all of it yet).

I'm wondering if the new Gold Star thresholds will be retroactive or will we have to perform the songs again to receive them (since I'm right near getting it for Eminence Front, a lowering of that about 5,000 points, if that's what they're talking about, might do so). Not completely understanding what they are exactly changing (I read it, but may need some further explanation).

I second that but I want Killswitch from any of their first 3 albums. Not from As Daylight Dies.....

I love Killswitch like crazy but I hate listening to their new cd. Give me something from End of Heartache any day...

Oh...and your right Darkpower....My Curse is the only Killswitch song in Guitar Hero. Rock Revolution however is gonna feature End of Heartche. That one song alone is gonna be the reason I purchase that crappy Konami knock off.

:foc: @ The Daylight Dies album comment. That's the only album I own right now from them, and it kicks fucking ass (with all due respect to you, of course). I would love to have Holy Diver and This Fire Burns on there (maybe Arms Of Sorrow).

But I  you for wanting the End Of Heartache stuff. Will want that song, too.

Oh, and if you REALLY wanna get crazy, get My Last Serenade on there (with the original KSE singer), and let's see someone try to hit Jesse Leach's vocals on it.

Do you mean using the LP on Rock Band?

360 users were able to do that since launch. I got my Rock Band game the day it came out, and didn't get a controller for five months.

Also, I know you love Sony, but they were the ones who cock blocked this patch in the first place. Harmonix announced they were working on it shortly after launch, then made an announcement that there would be no such patch, thanks to Sony.

Microsoft, on the other hand, does have certain requirements for use of their proprietary wifi setup.

So let's not be praising Sony for requiring something they initially vetoed, or asking why Microsoft hasn't done something that was already standard in the first place.

LMFAO. I just watched that video on Youtube. It would only be slightly harder to gold star than Debaser. Well, unless there's some ridiculously hard part in the last thirty seconds. I closed the window because of how pathetically gay the song and the band were.

Actually, I think it was Activision that was whining like a bitch that it was EA that wasn't wanting it, and the EA whined right back that it was Activision that was blocking it. I don't know anything about Sony having anything to do with it (no one on either side was whining about Sony having anything to do with it). Here is an article from IGN from Oct. 2007 that tested everything as it worked at that point. And then this: http://www.boston.com/business/techn...d_with_gamers/ , that does say something about Activision being the bitch about it (not Sony).

As far as me loving Sony "that much", I could say the same about you and Microsoft. Though I'm not about to begin that fight here (though I know you're looking to start one here).

Wow...you can do that shouter vocals without your vocal cords going out? I have a hard time doing things like that for too long without them feeling weird. That's not an insult on you in any way (that IS hella tough to do).

Oh, and Jesse was the guy that just abandoned the band without a reason I'm aware of, so he kind of IS a cocksucker. Howard does the song alot better in my mind anyway.
