Yeah, I assumed it was because no one could make it last week to rep AEW so they’re just coming to them instead.

Always.

Well yes at the end of the day that's what these meetings are working toward for but schmoozing variably ends up being involved. I've been through a number of acquisitions and invariably you end up with the execs fluffing each other before they hammer out the details of how the relationship is gonna work going forward. Sometimes it happens in the first meeting, a lot of times it doesn't.

Mostly these meetings are about setting a tone and setting up whatever metrics are expected for the acquired property. Somewhat doubt any sort of major decisions will be made off of this meeting alone, provided of course everybody's going into it open minded.

If Discovery's already decided they don't want wrestling on their programming regardless of any potential numbers, that's another story.

Evil Vito 05-27-2022 10:35 AM

So since Wardlow is meant to be "contracted" to MJF and he's free of that with a win on Sunday, I wonder if this will be followed by Wardlow "signing an AEW contract" on Wednesday which purportedly pays him more than MJF.

It sucked that Omega had to have the surgeries that he needed. He also didn't need to stay away from the shows for 6 months if he was worried about his influence on talent being negated.

Omega didn’t need all these surgeries. They have a clear timetable for recovery and there is no timetable for his return. The video game is a disaster.

Hahaha, Punk made a tweet about WWE moving MITB to a smaller venue and people dragged him for it so he deleted it. Dude’s never sold out a stadium in his life, btw.

He makes it REALLY easy to dislike him with his glass houses. How are those ratings doing over in AEW? Those buildings still half-full?

Triple A 05-27-2022 07:28 PM

Watching Rampage... Kris Statlander rules... really hope she beats Ruby Soho... Statlander like 50x better than her and most women in AEW tbh

Triple A 05-27-2022 07:28 PM

fuck Ruby Soho won... bullshit,,

Triple A 05-27-2022 07:29 PM

crowd loudly booing Ruby Soho

big mistake having her win...

Evil Vito 05-27-2022 07:30 PM

The Bucks dressed as the Hardys with Brandon Cutler as Lita cracked my ass up

Triple A 05-27-2022 07:31 PM

idk why they never push Statlander, really "on another level" than every other woman, besides maybe Serena Deeb and Thunder Rosa

Evil Vito 05-27-2022 07:51 PM

I assume Britt (and Cole, ugh) are winning their tourneys and so they’d rather have Ruby take the loss than Kris. But really they should’ve just had Kris win the whole thing.

Women’s division is obviously the biggest weakness with TK as a Booker.

Evil Vito 05-27-2022 07:53 PM

Does seem like Kris is gonna go heel. I’d be down for Kris vs Rosa at least but she really didn’t need to be in this tourney to begin with.

#1-norm-fan 05-27-2022 08:03 PM

Cole can’t win, right? Come on….

Maybe she's gonna be the one who beats Jade Cargill, but feels like they still shouldn't have Jade lose any time soon

I don't think she should go heel, crowd was super behind her tonight

She wasn't in the tourney to begin with.

Vastardikai 05-27-2022 08:36 PM

I just realized that I've run out of material for lampooning the Young Bucks. God they suck.

Sepholio 05-27-2022 08:39 PM

I think Ruby is gonna beat Brit. If I remember when Ruby came in her first big loss right off the bat was against Brit. She'll avenge that loss and it'll be sold as long term story telling and then she'll job in a title feud and no one will remember any of this happened.

Actually let me say, wrong/BAD TAKE.

Young Bucks are pretty cool and GREAT.

There is no more entertaining duo in the greatest sport on Earth.

And they shouldn’t have shoehorned her in just to do this.

Him and Tony Khan are both fucking idiots with that logic.

Oh WWE only sold 28,000 tickets instead of 40,000 like they did for Summerslam hahaha! 28,000 in Las Vegas for a B PPV is pathetic, FED-DED!!!
These fuckers sold 13,000 for their flagship show in Vegas, and are already crying about how they MIGHT have a game 7 in the NBA to worry about.

Destor 05-27-2022 10:35 PM

ive been saying they should do smaller venues for years. youll get more energy from a crowd of 10000 packed tight than 10000 with elbow room. that energy translates to the tv product. and there's nothing lost from the smaller venue since the scale is completely lost on the tv viewer anyways

Do you want to know why I ran out of material? Because every god damned match of theirs is the same.

Sure but they had to shoehorn someone in like they did with Miro filling in (For Mox?) during another tourney they had a while back - was it for the TNT title?

Sucks but they rolled with it and maybe it helps build Stat up for the long- run

Meltzer and Alvarez are now reporting that way more talent are open to leaving AEW if the situation becomes available. Meltzer is an AEW shill. He wouldn’t be reporting this if it didn’t have weight to it. He’s probably understating it.

AEW has really shot itself in the foot. This is what I’ve been talking about as mindless dolts get on me for rooting against wrestling or for the WWE or whatever. They only had a finite window to do this thing in. Now the young guys that can be stars are going to go to places where they can actually be stars. Soon the older talent is going to leave after being paid a cool couple of million and do their own ego projects or go back to Vince. AEW is going to be left without some key identity players. There will be no way for it to make back the money that has been sunk into it. Pulling the plug will make total sense.

This is what you asked for.

Fignuts 05-29-2022 04:10 PM

The only place people can become stars is outside of wrestling.

Disagree on the semantics, but it’s possible the guy does want out of wrestling.

Mr. Nerfect 05-29-2022 04:22 PM

Lol, the number of people calling the MJF situation a work is astounding. What is the benefit to this being a work?
