Margaery died last season

El Fangel 04-30-2018 03:26 AM

Finished up everything. I really hope the books turn out a bit more interesting than the mess that was Season 7.

Not long left now!

Sixx 01-14-2019 07:31 AM

That's a shitty trailer.

Seanny One Ball 01-14-2019 10:09 AM

Funny how Rob Stark grew up to be the only decent actor out of the Stark progeny. He was so wooden early on, then we got a good look at Sansa and Brann and all of a suddenly he looks like a dab hand.
Jon Snow isn't bad but it has to be said the acting quality in GOT is fairly appalling now that they've killed off most of the actual talent.

Sixx 01-14-2019 10:17 AM

Jon Snow irritates the shit out of me.

His face is so stupid, he always looks like somebody stole his toys.

Sixx 01-14-2019 10:18 AM

Oh, Brann's face is also very stupid.

It's GOT. He's never had any toys to begin with.

He had some wooden... ACTING! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm hilarious.

Not attracted to her face. She's 21. She's shown the most character development out of all the siblings.

Maisie Williams is not a particularly good actress. She's leagues ahead of Sophie Turner though, but then Sophie Turner is beautiful so she'll keep getting work she doesn't deserve.
Maisie Williams is heading for a role as the tiny headmistress in a Kindergarten Cop remake.

Seanny One Ball 01-17-2019 11:39 AM

Although that actress does have an Academy Award for playing a little boy so Maisie may not even be good enough for a KC remake.

Frank Drebin 01-18-2019 12:23 AM

Something about the two of them rubs me the wrong way. Very smug. Careers will probably dwindle when this show ends.

Ever since you talked about Turner's wooden acting I can't stop seeing it.

Fignuts 01-18-2019 01:38 AM

She is literally a tree.

Frank Drebin 01-18-2019 05:50 AM

Make like a tree and get outta here.

rez 01-18-2019 11:50 PM

There's a lot of wooden acting. I was just saying out of the Starks she's shown the most development. HER CHARACTER.

Seanny One Ball 01-20-2019 03:58 PM

They should have cast her as Bran so that when he finally does turn into a tree it makes perfect sense.

ClockShot 04-14-2019 07:09 PM

Well, it kicks off tonight.

I'd be watching. But money's kinda tight at the moment and I'm already paying extra on my cable bill for Starz just to watch American Gods.

I'll jump into this thread late.

I have only seen clips of the show on YT but I like Daenerys via having a cool-ass dragon who 'destroys her enemies'

Seems like a lot of H8rs in this thread!!

XL 04-15-2019 04:23 PM

Pretty pleased with the episode. Lots of “feels” with characters reuniting. The (relative) calm before the storm.

Triple A 04-22-2019 11:16 AM

How old is the Arya character supposed to be in the book / show?

Frank Drebin 04-22-2019 11:38 AM

Felt like that was a body double but whatever.

Was a big whatever episode. You'd figure something would have happened by now but they're gonna spend the first 2 episodes just getting various people to give each other head nods from stories that they had 3 or 5 seasons ago.

Will wait another week I guess.

slik 04-22-2019 11:51 AM

An 11-year difference between the two. The actor reminds me of a malnourished Christian Bale.

I want the north to be it's on shit with Sansa as the ruler. John Snow gets everything south. Or the midget.

GoT loves incest and wants to test how underage girls do now. Stop hating (I have no idea what her age is but I felt uncomfortable)

I haven't disliked the episodes so far, as the character interactions have been very good. That said it feels like not much has really happened. I figured with such a short season they'd get right into it.

Seanny One Ball 04-22-2019 07:12 PM

It'll turn out that the entire world is actually inside a snow globe held by an autistic savant who sits there listening to Journey in a restaurant with his family before it fades to black followed by a hastily prepared epilogue explaining that Dr Sam Becket[sic] never did return home.

She's twenty-two but Gendry is 31 which means he was somewhere in his twenties when she was a little girl

she gave an interview and they talked about it it was her she talked about how hard people try not to even look at her and that was just as awkward as someone staring at her but she said they were very respectful and they were constantly asking her how she was feeling how much was she willing to do and so on. And as for Gendry he said he felt weird about this whole thing but he didn't want to insult Masai Williams because she is a grown woman. So they just kind of went for it and had fun with it as much fun as can be had in such a situation.
Sansa Stark on the other hand apparently thinks it's absolutely hilarious and awesome.

LOL

I mean that's a real reach for a guilt trip. This is an absurdly childish way to react to a grown woman showing her bare back.

So, episode 3 Deadpool?

Who’s saying bye?

Frank Drebin 04-28-2019 10:54 PM

Damn. That was something.

Some things really bothered me about it though....

SPOILER: show
So after years and years of build to the dead, they get defeated in a single episode? I get that Cersei is the real "big bad" of the show, but....really?? No more backstory or explanation of the Night King or any of that? I dunno. Felt as rushed as alot of shit has these last two seasons.

Lock Jaw 04-29-2019 12:35 AM

Damn. Just watched.

SPOILER: show
I have a feeling that the mythology will get fleshed out more in these final episodes by Bran. Because now it is essentially a world without "Death", which makes me think that Bran is going to have to make a new Night King, because there must always be a Night King to have balance in the world. Which would explain also why the Children of the Forest made the White Walkers in the first place....

Lock Jaw 04-29-2019 12:36 AM

I really wanted sometime during this episode just a cutaway of Cersei drinking wine in King's Landing.

They didn't make them for some sort of natural balance. They made them because they were at war with mankind.

Gray 04-29-2019 01:39 PM

SPOILER: show
The battle seemed so fast paced with whizzing camera shots to even know where the frig you were especially at the beginning. Seemed unncessary especially as it was dark too.

So The Night King goes through all these seasons and not once did he utter a word, not even fuckin abrakadabra to raise the dead. After all that rough and tumble, while I did mark out somewhat about it I felt that it just ended up being so fast paced... I would have thought they would have left some of the battle into episode 4.

Shame we didn't get any Ned Stark cameo, or even Lady Stoneheart if only for a fleeting second. Good to see Tyrion and Sansa though, he was always right for her...

So in the end we will have Jon and Dany as Stark/Targaryan, Arya and Gendry as Stark/Baratheon and maybe Sansa/Tyrion as Lannister/Stark? That is their dynasty sorted right there..

Gray 04-29-2019 01:43 PM

Frantic and exciting episode! My only real complaint was a lot of the "dark" scenes at the beginning. I could barely see anything.

I felt bad for all the Unsullied for covering the retreat. Absolutely insurmountable odds, but they stood their ground. The way the dead were charging in waves was like the zombies in World War Z.

It was a similar experience on Hulu.

mitchables 04-29-2019 09:57 PM

when the night king walked out of the flames a bunch of people started theorising that he is a targaryen despite that making absolutely zero sense

why do fans have to complicate everything needlessly, clearly he was unburnt because he is a powerful ancient magical being. not everything is something. come on

mitchables 04-29-2019 09:58 PM

also yeah the darkness was pretty terrible. we tried to combat it by varying brightness/contrast/colour warmth settings on our tv but that just made the pixellated blackness even worse

You can’t blame people for theorizing stuff in a show full of so many plot twists. And I don’t think the Night King being a Targarean is crazy at all. There’s been tons of Targareans throughout Westeros history and we don’t know everything about them.

It’s a lot less crazy than Tyrion being a time traveling Targarean anyway.

Frank Drebin 04-29-2019 10:28 PM

All that foreshadowing for one (albeit sweet af) episode. White Walkers were shown in the first scene of the entire series and now they're done just like that?? Winter was coming....and coming....and coming....aaaand.....it lasted one night. I dunno man....
