Yeah I don't think he was too good at Leeds.

Danny Electric 06-07-2004 08:53 PM

If we're released Richie Partridge then I'm pissed off.

Dazz 06-07-2004 08:55 PM

I've never even heard of Richie Partridge. To be fair, without having a manager I don't think you have. Unless Houllier anticipated his sacking and did it before he got the axe.

Ogen 06-07-2004 11:02 PM

Richie Partridge is fucking brilliant great young + Irish winger both sides been tipped to be huge for years now.

Frank Grimes Jnr 06-07-2004 11:17 PM

Dickov has signed with Rovers for 150,000 pounds.
Good signing if you ask me, unless they take a mid-year break in Spain.

Dazz 06-07-2004 11:21 PM

LOL ^

But seriosuly the guy is innocent.

Doink 06-08-2004 10:23 AM

its no wonder they denied it, did you see the state of the ho's it was obvious from the start they were in it for the money

Does anyone here think he's a good signing for Blackburn? Did they really need another striker? Cause I don't think they needed to sign him.

Doink 06-08-2004 12:09 PM

to me it means that yorke and cole are both on their way and they want someone with experience to help youngsters like stead (who i think will get at least 15 next season) gallagher and jansen.

Rob 06-08-2004 02:50 PM

Yorke and Cole are the biggest no talents in the league anyway. Especially Yorke. I'll forever be thankful for Yorke signing for United when he did because we would never had done the treble without him, but ever since then, both his and Cole's attitude's have stunk.

Doink 06-08-2004 03:06 PM

im glad we didnt sign them, we tryed for yorke but we wouldnt meet man u's asking price or something shit like that and then we were linked with cole last season but thankfully nothing came of it!

they were decent a few years ago but now they are both living off past glories

Wengerland 06-08-2004 05:41 PM

Ferdinand hasn't been released but he'll retire if his surgery is unsuccessful or leave if he doesn't rate the squad which Adams will have built. He could still do a job in the premiership though.

We've been linked with Dion Dublin today,so thanks for the service Les and all the best for the future.:(

Nah joking,Dublin's alright,it's just his age.Seeing as quite a few don't expect us to pull away in the promotion race this time around i would rather see some younger lads a chance this time round.

Thatcher looks set to go to Portsmouth, which is annoying because he's another with a dirt cheap release clause. You'd think the board would have put a decent price on the players, incase we went down.

dont talk to me about release clauses in contracts, luckly since the ziege one we dont do it anymore (not sure about if we get relegated though) but if there is i dont think they would be for a low fee such as what your team has done.

saying that wernt dickov and thatcher both free transfers for you? if so then the low amount in clause would make more sence as at least then they would be guarented some money back on them.

i agree about dublin, although he's a decent player, he's getting on a bit and id prefer to see more teams give youth/ younger/fringe players there chance after relegation or even instead of signing forginers in the premiership, give a chance to the people you have first if that doesnt work out then bring someone in.

i know people will say it'll be to late but with euro championships on, nows the best time to look at the youth players and put them in some friendlies and see how they adapt!

Yeah Welsh is the man on Champ Man, got him on a free as Millwall on one of the old games (the red one) and he was a key player in me winning the Premiership.

Yeah I know the feeling about being pissed off about letting young talent go, Leon Knight and Rhys Evans were quality youngsters :'(

I think both were undisclosed, though Thatcher might have been free.Dickov was said to be about £150,000 when we got him,so thats a loss on an in-form player who, when we picked him up,was rotting in Man City's reserves.:-\

Partridge should easily get a move to a division 1 club,i remember last season he scored a good goal here whilst on loan at Coventry.I wouldn't mind him here but he most likely wouldn't be a starter due to Scowcroft staying and (hopefully) Canero starting on the other flank.

As good as Leon Knight is, he was never really likely to get in the first 11, especially now.

Latest news: Gravesen wants to leave

For fucksake if he goes we may as well just get relegated now.

I hope Rooney comes back from Euro 2004 even better.

Oxstar 06-10-2004 11:52 AM

Been a Everton supporter is probably worse than been a Crystal Palace supporter, anybody heard any rumours about Tore Andre Flo and Kevin Kyle coming to Palace? I think they are both excellent players and would be great additions. I personally would prefer Kevin Kyle. What does everybody else think?

Flo used to be the man

He plays up front for Sunderland he's quite tall and strong, good in the air and ok with his feet. He scored about 18 goals last season he would be the ideal partner for Andy Johnson.

Dazz 06-10-2004 12:36 PM

Oh yeah the black guy, yeah I know who he is. I would rather have Flo because although he is a pussy he was the man at Chelsea.

Oh :$ I dunno then

Mr. Monday Morning 06-10-2004 01:43 PM

Somewhat remarkably we've re-signed Ganea for 2 years   So even if Camara leaves now ( ) I'm not too worried, what with having Ganea, Miller, Cort and Sturridge all on the books.

While I'm here, if anyone is feeling nostalgic someone on suprnova is putting up the old Fantasy Football eps from World Cup 98

Doink 06-10-2004 01:59 PM

we have flown out to start talks with viduka!

dont think kyle would be anygood for palace as from what ive seen and heard about him ( i hate to admit it but im friends with a mackem - not to be confused with the mackem ) and apparently he is a bog standard 1st division forward and wouldnt make the grade in premiership. also flo wouldnt be anygood, think when he was 'the man' as it has been put he was at chelsea playing alongside the person who i would describe as 'the real man' - zola, and zola made him look better than he was.

palace might be better off looking at someone like yorke or cole or ricketts - please take ricketts, or even trying their luck and going after hasslebaink ( i know it wont happen but does it hurt to try? ) rather than go for kyle ( i think the black guy who plays up front for sunderland at the stadium of shite is darren byfield )

i didnt know sturridge was still at wolves, thought he'd retired or just langwished through the leagues! i think you could still do with ibig guy up front, have you heard of i player called micheal ricketts at all, i think he'd do well for you :shifty:

Tony Montana 06-10-2004 02:11 PM

Kevin Kyle is rather amazing really.

Wengerland 06-10-2004 02:12 PM

lol Dazz.

I don't know about Kyle,he wasn't prolific really.Could be a good partner for Johnson but incase Johnson can't do it at premiership level i think Palace need a real goalscorer.

Bridges has gone to Bolton, who also are set to sign Aliou Cisse.

Wengerland 06-10-2004 02:16 PM

We loaned him out last year to Sheff Utd I think it was...he's about 32 or 33 now but he can still score goals in Div 1 if needs be.

And we have Carl Cort already thank you very much :p We don't need a slow overweight crap striker...we just got rid of Nathan Blake :shifty:

We've signed a keeper from Reading, Jamie Ashdown. He rejected a new contract from them and signed for us but we have to pay compensation because he's under 24. Its supposed to be sorted at £250,000.

We've also agreed a fee with Leicester for Ben Thatcher. All the things I see written about him by Leicester fans indicate he was a good player for them but theres something about signing 2 members of that infamous defence that makes me worry :$!

chim chimeney, Chim chimeney, Chim Chim Cheroo,
Who needs Wayne Rooney when we've got Mutuuuuu

MUTU MUTU MUTU MUTU.

I would really not wanna see him go, he is one of the players that MUST stay, don't take my Mutu away :'(.

The guy puts in the third most effort behind Franky and JT.

Oxstar 06-10-2004 09:28 PM

I always thought Mutu was better than Crespo and Hasselbaink, I reckon Mutu had no luck and maybe didn't take all his chances but it's his first season he needed more time to settle down and more 1st team games and he wasn't given a chance. Mutu should go on loan to Palace:D

Dazz 06-10-2004 09:59 PM

Mutu should stay at Chelsea, play up front loads with Crespo next season, and then let everyone take back anything bad they have said about either of them. They are top of the range.

Smith was always upfront with the fans, he said that if they went down he was going to leave and he was going somewhere good for him so he could further his career and it was obvious it was only going to be about 3 teams and 1 of them was Man U.

Milner, Smith, Radabe and Matteo were the only ones that looked like they cared for most of the season and while Robinson was wank, he looked like he cared too.

They should be thankful Smith didnt give up and stop caring like most of their players, he was always there for them working hard while Viduka was off fighting with the manager and getting himself sent off stupidly every 5 minutes.

On an unrelated topic, Arsenal have released Kanu, Wiltord and Keown, among others.

With Bentley off at Norwich, Jeffers being a cunt, Aliadiere being underdone and Bergkamp getting older, do you think it's really wise to be letting go of Kanu and Wiltord?

I'd be thinking twice, because our striking ranks consist basically of Henry, Bergkamp, Reyes and Aliadiere (among others who I probably forgot) for next season.

Thoughts?

Whilst watching the Russia/Spain game John Motson said that Portsmouth will have Smertin on loan for another year, don't know how reliable that is,but it would be good for Pompey.

We've signed Dublin now,its a decent move i suppose, because of his versatility and experience.Gives us another target man incase Ferdinand's operation is unsuccessful.

Mr. Monday Morning 06-16-2004 02:16 PM

I can't see Aimar or Ayala agreeing to join Liverpool at any price

Wengerland 06-16-2004 06:03 PM

Dazz 06-16-2004 06:23 PM

Yeah he has been.

Wengerland 06-17-2004 06:59 AM

Thatcher looks likely to go to Man City now,so you don't have to worry anymore, RBF.;)

Cactus Sid 06-17-2004 07:01 AM

Well, if Gerrard goes, I probably wont even bother watching Liverpool next season

We've had 2 bad seasons, but we're still in the Champions League, if Benitez can pull a rabbit out of the hat, ditch the sh</>it and bring in some talent, I'm sure Gerrard will stay, at least for another year.

Dazz 06-17-2004 10:07 AM

Yeah I can't see why Benetizwould even let Gerrard go, and I think that everyones favourite scouser (besides the poster Tony Montana) will want to see that Benetiz does to the club first, as you have good foundations for a team. Kirkland, Hyppia, Gerrard and Owen as the backbone of your team is hot shit. If you did get Ayala then your defence would be as good as any, with Carragher at right back and John Arne Rise and left back. A world class attacker to parter Owen wouldn't go a miss either. I suppose Gerrard's concern should be as to how much Benetiz has to spend.

Deco looks pretty certain to come to Chelsea.

Wengerland 06-17-2004 11:20 AM

If Aimar,Ayala and Cisse move to Liverpool and they keep Gerrard, which may well happen should the forementioned 3 sign, then they'll have a good side.I can't think of a quality one off the top of my head already there but then Liverpool would just need a right midfeilder,if Kewell,Cisse and Aimar are added to that defence Dazz said.

Dazz 06-17-2004 11:34 AM

I doubt Aimar would go there, but I really do think Liverpool will have a good side next season, I can't see Gerrard going. They have Murphy, Gerrard and Kewell so its hardly a weak midfield either.

Ogen 06-17-2004 11:39 AM

Gerrards supposedly off though even the chairman said he was unhappy at Anfield. United, Milan or Chelsea is my guess even though Chelsea don't even need him.

Wengerland 06-17-2004 12:08 PM

I would rather see Gerrard go to Chelsea than Deco,if they get Deco then that will leave Lampard being more defensive,or, worse, not playing(though that's unlikely).

I can't remember the Valencia side exactly but i'm sure Aimar didn't end the season in it.He was injured but maybe he'll want a new challenge,so it would be a lot like the few Porto players going to Chelsea.

Cactus Sid 06-17-2004 03:17 PM

Trust me, if Gerrard ever left, he would not go to Man Utd, because he would die if he did.

Mr. Monday Morning 06-17-2004 04:29 PM

Well, look at this for a potential team (based on transfer rumours so far)

Kirkland
Carragher
Hyppia
Ayala
Riise
Murphy
Hargreaves
Gerrard
Kewell

Owen

That is a damn fine team, especially in the middle. Gerrard and Hargreaves could boss almost any team in the land.

I don't think Hargreaves would get in the Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd teams personally.

Dazz 06-17-2004 05:15 PM

Yeah, Hargreaves has been wank for England, I think he is overrated and don't want to see him at Chelsea.

Wengerland 06-17-2004 05:19 PM

If you replace Hargreaves with Aimar then that side would seem better.Hargreaves would be ok for Liverpool though, i guess.
