Yeah my friends and I do something similar whenever someone makes a play with Terrence Kiel.

D Mac 09-23-2008 04:28 AM

Enjoy your good year DrA.

Mort just reported about the latter on ESPN saying Payton is pissed..

Payton should be pissed he has a pussy POS for a kicker who cost them the game.

Anyway

The Colts will win the Superbowl. I'm calling it now. They will win the Superbowl. It sucks to say this, but all we have to do is get into the playoffs. Then all bets are off. Are defense sucks. Its not because we dont Bob Sanders either. I'm sorry, but Bob Sanders wont make us tackle better...or does he? Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmm

But i dunno. I was so sick watching that Jacksonville game. The Mathis pick was clearly pass interference. I got a new rule. If you see Tony Dungy screaming at a referee, reguardless if you even saw the play or not, that ref was wrong.

I just hate the idea that we might not win the division. Believe it or not, winning the division, to me, is very important. I hate losing to division teams.

Oh well, atleast we didnt get beat by a college offense. But we sure as hell played like a college defense.

Absolutely hate this line of thinking..

As I've said before, as a team, leaving the game in your kickers hands is bad news in any game.. I mean, how is it anymore his fault for missing than the entire offense, for not scoring another TD or getting that last first down?? Or the defense for not stopping the Broncos?? Or Payton's fault for not calling a kick to end the first half?? Etc, etc..

Win as a team, lose as a team..

Mr. Monday Morning 09-23-2008 02:17 PM

Well Payton's not exactly going to cut himself now is he

CSL 09-23-2008 02:28 PM

Trent Green takes over from Mark Bulger. Yeah, that's gonna fix the problems

He's also not gonna cut Gramatica after one bad game.. Specially when we pretty much wasted a draft pick on a kicker who was good, but later cut him in favor of keeping Gramatica..

Mr. Monday Morning 09-23-2008 04:58 PM

Kickers are by far the most interchangable position in the league. I would've thought you would understand how a kicker can cost you after putting up with Mare.

Hell sign Vanderjagt, I could do with a laugh.

ClockShot 09-23-2008 05:06 PM

Fast Willie Parker out for the game against the Ravens.

Gramatica is 8 out of 10 as a Saint..

KC was good like one year he was there.. Don't rememebr if the made the playoffs or not though..

In other news The Saints lose another starter for several games..

Quote:

Jamar Nesbit of the New Orleans Saints has been suspended without pay for the team's next four games for violating the NFL Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances. Nesbit's suspension begins immediately. He is eligible to return to the Saints' active roster on Monday, October 20 following the team's October 19 game against the Carolina Panthers. "We are disappointed in the suspension of Jamar," said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. "We will support Jamar through this process and look forward to having him rejoin the team soon."
WTF

I don't think they are easily interchangeable. A solid, dependable kicker is close to one of the most important positions on the team.

LoDownM 09-23-2008 08:47 PM

KC needs to fire Edwards.

#1-norm-fan 09-24-2008 01:52 AM

With the exception of a few clutch, dependable kickers in the league, they all seem pretty average. It just seems like you have those few awesome kickers and then it's a big drop to mediocre.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-24-2008 08:40 AM

Yeah sorry that's what I meant, outside of a few very dependable guys they're all pretty much of a muchness.

Hanso Amore 09-24-2008 09:11 AM

Im with Monday Morning. Name one Elite team that didnt or doesnt have a solid kicker. They are one of the most underrated assets.

Few teams will have playoff success without a great kicker. If a team doesn't have a tried and tested kicker its bound to cause problems.

Gonzo 09-24-2008 10:14 AM

Example: The 2004 New York Giants

Yeah, anyone from buffalo knows that all too well.

VonErichLives 09-24-2008 10:43 AM

Plaxico Burress suspended for insubordination.

I've seen 2 different reports siteing jay glazer, one said "1 game" and one said "2 games"

my guess is 1 game, but it's coughlin who knows... apperently he skipped a team meeting monday and didn't answer his phone tuesday.

VonErichLives 09-24-2008 10:44 AM

apperently it's 2 weeks, but one of the weeks is a bye, so he lost 2 weeks pay but only misses 1 game.

OssMan 09-24-2008 11:28 AM

What a piece of shit

Gonzo 09-24-2008 12:47 PM

Yeah, I'm curious to hear more details.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-24-2008 12:55 PM

It's not like this is out of character for Coughlin though is it? I know he went all 'nice' last year but playing hooky is probably not the best idea if he's your boss.

Evil Vito 09-24-2008 02:53 PM

Shit, one of my fantasy teams is dependent on Plax and now I lose him for two weeks

But yeah, dumb move by Burress.

MILLEN IS OUT AS GM OF THE LIONS

WHAT A JOYOUS DAY IN THE CITY OF DETROIT

FIRST KWAME, NOW MILLEN, WHO'S NEXT

SammyG 09-24-2008 03:27 PM

Rams release Fahkir Brown, sign Jason Craft.

Team Sheep 09-24-2008 05:25 PM

How long is Favre planning on staying in New York? Part of me thinks we might be better right now if we'd stuck with Chad. I dunno, it's just not there. The offense hasn't shown any sign of 'clicking' at all yet :-/

Cooler Tom Schuler 09-24-2008 07:20 PM

3 games under a new system is hardly enough to pass judgment.

Team Sheep 09-24-2008 07:32 PM

That's the point. We might only have Brett for like a year, so what's the point spending that just for him to get used to the offense? 3 games in and it's not looking good. Might already be too late.

I'm just saying I find all but about 5 or so kickers in the league to be "iffy". They can shine one week, and then suck the next.

And you'd have to define "solid" but I can tell you know that there have been and currently are teams in the league that are very good but don't have a clutch kicker.

Hanso Amore 09-24-2008 11:05 PM

I agree that there are few elite kickers, and only a few dependable. They just happen to be on the best teams (perhaps that is what makes them....the best)

U-Warrior 09-24-2008 11:10 PM

Ryan Lindell is pretty fucking good tbh.

Gonzo 09-25-2008 12:10 AM

I don't think a kicker has to be "elite" to also be considered dependable. Alls I'm saying is that if you have problems at the kicker position it proves to be a huge issue eventually. Always does, always will.

U-Warrior 09-25-2008 12:24 AM

I don't think there is a single kicker in the NFL, that can't at least be described as "dependable".

They are all dependable, or else they wouldn't be there. It's just some are more dependable than others.
