My guess is that Danielson’s too hurt. That would have been the A1 match though. Adam Page is fucking boring in that slot. Give him some time off to rehab the horrible job they’ve done with him.

Daneilson is only expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

I have never seen an Okada match but heard the hype. Okada vs. Hangman has me buying the PPV because Hangman would take a broom to 4.5 stars atm.

Otherwise the NJPW stuff leaves me a bit flat. I understand travel etc probably makes it a bit hard but if your gonna do an invasion angle do an invasion angle. The bits and pieces showing up weekly isnt doing it for me as there not guys I know and am hanging out to see.

That said its all a bit stuffed up atm with injuries etc.

Wardlow as TNT champ should be good fun. Got time to get the Punk turn in (although the injury complicates that) and then have Wardlow steamroll him if the reactions continue.

I like Eddie Kingston but I don't want him anywhere near the world title. I think AEW have actually done a good job with making the world title credible to date and I think if Eddie was having this run 5-10 years from now with a long lineage to the belt I could see him winning it and a quick drop but I have less than 0 interest in Eddie Kingston World Champion right now.

If we are doing a quick feel good win and drop within a month I would rather Darby or JB maybe even Starks with a face turn win it out of nowhere to start a long arc of "I had the belt but I wasn't good enough to keep it, now I gotta grow to have my time truly on top".

Adam Cole is the least interesting person in AEW.

Had a sinking feeling he was going to win this interim title before the show started.

I never really watched NXT so had very little exposure to the guy. I was excited when he came in, I was into the entrance etc but it got old fast and just feels off.

I wonder if he should be a face, the whole stable things too big now but fans want to cheer him, maybe it’s time to let them.

Adam Cole is still better than CM Punk.

My argument for Kingston is he’s red hot over and has stayed that way since going face, he’s a stellar promo, and because it’s interim and likely won’t be recognized, it’s fine IMO to give him a run that ultimately won’t “count”. The only problem is he’ll likely get cheered over Punk, but then again that can make Punk a heel and that’s what he’s best at.

That was my thought exactly. He’s the perfect guy to get an ultimately meaningless title run. He’s so good and people love him but he just doesn’t fit that true face of the company mould.

You could even have him win it briefly and lose it to someone like Jericho before Punk comes back so that a heel can get the heat from taking it from him and “You’re convict street trash that only tasted glory for a bit and it didn’t even count” can be a running cheap heat-getter for any other heels he might feud with in the future.

They’re both detriments, at this point.

Exactly. Eddie winning the title, getting all the glory and pomp and circumstance that doesn’t go to a guy like him not only gets him over even more, it gives a heel who’d run his chance at becoming a legitimate world champion mega heat. Dropping it Jericho after getting shafted in his first defense would be tremendous.

Adam Cole is like a rock in your shoe when you are running.
CM Punk is like the entire track covered in feces that you keep slipping on and making you fall down over and over again.

Very good card with what they’re going for. I would like to see them get out of other things they’ve already committed to, but I like what you’ve done here.

Danielson challenging Okada was a no-brainer. It was the match everyone wanted to see. It should have closed the show and it could have drawn real emotion out of people, because they are that good.

I’d prefer Mox vs. Goto to Mox vs. Tanahashi too. Tough chance we’re getting it though. But I think that would be a pretty cool spotlight to put on Goto, who seems to be missing those moments in New Japan. I wouldn’t object to Goto winning the thing.

I guess the Undisputed Elite guys have to make the card, right? I had Adam Cole going against Kota Ibushi and it leading to an Omega return. But that’s not happening, lol. I guess this contains the crap. Just please put the Bullet Club over. Jay White and Juice Robinson are actually good.

I guess you’re stuck doing this All-Atlantic title thing, so I guess you’ve got to do it. I see the finals as Miro vs. Malakai Black, but I guess if you’re finishing at Forbidden Door it makes sense to have a New Japan guy in there.

I guess having the AEW Tag Titles defended works. Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus don’t seem to really fit the New Japan side of things, but I guess they’re a “thing” in AEW? If you can call them that. ZSJ putting Jungle Boy in submissions could be fun.

I get what you’re going with in the House vs. House match. I’m just not a fan of either side. Makes sense though.

Page and Tonga…it seems right for Page, but not what they’d like for him. I’d have the guy sitting out and being out of mind for a while, but we know they’re going to jam him down our throats. This would have been a nice offering to New Japan though. You can have our former World Champion and put a mid-card belt of yours on him.

LIJ vs. Death Triangle makes sense.

I think the 10-man tag is inspired. I like the face side of things there.

Overall, I think you’ve meshed the two “universes” well and have got everyone “important” on the card.

Hmm? I don’t think I’ve ever been too down on Juice Robinson. I thought he had something even back in NXT. I wasn’t feeling the heel turn. But hey, if it’s going to be good for him, go for it. Done now anyway, lol.

Oh, the only notable omission I really see is Jericho. Maybe acts like Sammy Guevara too, to get some women on the show, even if it isn’t a wrestling role. I guess Jericho’s entertainer act doesn’t really suit New Japan, but you know he’s going to want to glom on. I think New Japan would really like Hager, and they use Garcia for Strong. Maybe another 10-man tag featuring some of the Strong guys? Fred Rosser, Fred Yehi, Clark Connors, Karl Fredericks and maybe someone like Satoshi Kojima? Just throwing some names out. I don’t know everyone in Strong’s current face/heel alignments.

I’ve done a shallow dive into this and can confirm that the most common phase Noid used in regard to Parker was “I don’t hate him” which is high praise indeed.
