Saw Hasney started playing "Wrestling Empire" on Switch, along with Mike the Metal Ed and... one of my other friends from TPWW but drawing a blank right now. Didn't even know there was a damn rasslin' game on Nintendo Switch !!!
|
Where's the new "Smackdown Murders AEW in the ratings worse than Chris Benoit did his Family" thread title?
|
For those curious, 2.15 million for SD this week
|
I saw that Roman Reigns mini promo from their Mania announcement. Where the fuck has that guy been the last 6 years. Also loved that Heyman seems like he's afraid of him.
|
He's so fucking great. Might be the best thing in wrestling.

Supposedly made by the same guy, yeah. It I guess kind of captures the spirit of the old Acclaim N64 games, jankiness and all. Kind of tempted to try it... I think there's a demo

And yeah that game was a blast on PC. You can do the most ridiculous shit in it.
I remember a newLegacy stream where they finished a match only to be greeted with a newspaper headline telling them that their character fucking died in the middle of career mode after suffering extreme damage and blood loss in a match. And then immediately after that, another newspaper headline that the guy who killed them in the match turned face. |

So even if the biggest segment is 50 plus, so what? It doesn't change the fact that they more than double Dynamite in the young people demo, does it? So why are you so biased every week posting those rating charts, when they disprove your bias? I said it last week, 18-34 demo Raw - .35 AEW - .15 So even if every WWE fan over 50 dies tomorrow, guess what, Raw would still beat Dynamite, so fuck your rating chart. |
I posted ratings before AEW existed...I've always posted ratings...
It's not my fault AEW is a better product to watch nor is it my fault AEW continues to be the preferred show for many younger viewers. |
Quote:
AEW 18-34 =.15 Try again. |
Don’t try and reason with them, xrod. They actually believe that AEW is cool with the young folks while WWE is not.
|
CNN with massive live tv ratings for the Inauguration. Both AEW and NXT did better for the night than I expected them to.

I'm stunned they got 800k. Not bad considering.
|
Yeah I agree, it was a really bad show
|
Lmao shut up Gertner
|
(It was one of the worst Dynamites they've had tho)
|
inb4 homemade demo god memes and other such things
|
All those youngins watching Dynamite!
All those oldies watching Raw! 18-34 AEW .19 Raw .31 Ooooofah |
AEW competes with NXT not RAW. Besides and believe me nobody cares as much about this as you do.

So ratings only matter on Wednesdays, unless Dynamite does really good, THEN the ratings matter on all days, including days from other weeks. Then they really REALLY matter. Got it! |
Dude. You’re taking all this far too seriously. Again; “wrestling company find something to favourably compare themselves to the competition” isn’t a headline, it’s a business model at this point.
Try putting this gimmick on ice for a week. I know it might feel like the “cultists” have won, but none of them are even here so they’ll never even know. We won’t tell them either. You might find having actual conversation with people is actually pretty good. |

Sting, Shaq, a crossover angle, Jericho MJF tag and they draw 734,000
Maybe they should trot out the brat again and try to squeeze more water out of that stone. |
Water is wet. WWE loses again.

I bet there’s an internal discussion as to what they need to exploit more in order to get the ratings — death or children?
1.45 million people watching on a Wednesday. Will be hilarious to see where that goes. |
2.22 for SD

Last year's RAW after RR did 2.402 million
WWE managed to lose 500k + viewers in a year for what's traditionally one of the most viewed eps of the year, an embarrassing moment for WWE |
But they're making billions of dollars to be featured on a streaming service, so losing viewers is fine.
|
Still several times the number AEW does on Wednesdays.

I think WWE made a mistake by not promoting Edge would be on NXT during RAW. That might have given them a better boost. I thought NXT would do a bigger number this week tbh.

AEW gained 110,000 viewers this week. NXT lost 110,000 viewers this week. Is AEW growing the fanbase? Or is it he exact same 110,000 assholes who always watch wrestling? I bet I know which narrative the Cultist will use  |
Look at that Cultist thread title.
How about being honest? AEW/IMPACT/AND NOW NJPW make WWE's 3rd brand Go to Sleep. Took 3 Wrestling companies to sway 110,000 viewers away from WWE Developmetal. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ELITE!!! |
WWE Had Edge...Hall of Famer...and a man who I guarantee 90% of us back....but...
|
Edge was never a big draw, especially not now though that he looks like Jimmy Valiant.

It's a term to describe AEW fans, not coined by me, I'm just championing it because it's a great term. They tried this lame attempt at a counter argument 2 weeks ago. I already replied to the last unoriginal poster who's best comeback was "uhhh I don't think you know what cult means". https://www.tpwwforums.com/showpost....postcount=3861 |
Why do I do this to myself? I come into a thread about ratings when I don’t give a shit about the ratings knowing full well that xrod will have been triggered by someone’s obvious attempt at baiting him and the thread descends into a slanging match. Same every week. I need to be better than this.

Using the word "cult" but only acknowledging a small fraction of the word's true meaning, in this case "a group of fans", reduces that word to the point where it no longer carries the same meaning as the original word. You are using the word "cult" when really you mean "group of fans" and you are doing this because of the negative connotations the actual word implies and you are basing this on the vitriol of those who you heard using it. By your own admission, bolding only a section of the definition, you do not appear to grasp the reasoning behind the use of the word "cult" or it's implications because you feel that it is simply a "great term" to really dunk on those who enjoy AEW. You consistently fail to show any understanding of the term, in addition to to complete miss on grasping the word "irony" and contextual misuse of "naive". Your use of the word cult here should apply to anything with absolutely no consequence. Do you like wrestling? Cultist. Do you prefer boxers or briefs? Cultist. You have a favourite colour? Absolute cult. The application of words is not as simple as spewing them out and hoping people gather your intent. You are also the same person who will call somebody unoriginal for pointing out the gaping flaws in your use of terminology, while at the same time you admit you only use said terminology because you saw somebody else say it first. I'll give you some time to figure out what you did wrong there. This is your chance to prove you're not just slinging out words you heard somebody else use without the faintest clue what they mean. Go on. We are all waiting, champ. |

Do you see that little : symbol? That means it is the next definition of the word. I did not JUST pick out a few words. 2 of the 3 accepted definitions describe exactly what I said. How do you not understand how a dictionary works? You also don't understand math. 2/3rds is the majority, not a "small fraction". How was that, champ? |
My favorite part about xrod calling AEW fans "cultists" is that he also watches AEW.
He is the cult. |

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cult And since you brought it up: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us...y/english/cult cult (kʌlt ) Word forms: cults 1. COUNTABLE NOUN A cult is a fairly small religious group, especially one which is considered strange. The teenager may have been abducted by a religious cult. Synonyms: sect, following, body, faction More Synonyms of cult 2. COUNTABLE NOUN The cult of something is a situation in which people regard that thing as very important or special. ~ AEW [disapproval] ...the cult of youth that recently gripped publishing. 3. The last two definitions you are referring to have the same meaning, but the dictionary YOU YOURSELF suggested broke down the usage as an adjective and as a singular noun. "Something very popular among a particular group of people" AEW is very popular among a particular group of people, who are too stubborn or too stupid to admit everything about AEW is NOT the second coming of Jesus. There are fans of wrestling that more or less enjoy AEW (such as myself), and then there are "Cultist" who figuratively blow AEW no matter what, and lose their shit when someone else criticizes their love interest. If AEW closed tomorrow, a fan would say "damn, oh well". A "Cultist" would cry themselves to sleep. Seriously, how the fuck do you suggest the specific dictionary, then disagree with what that dictionary says? You are some kind of special. |

I was wondering about this. Silly semantics about definitions aside, where are the cultist posts of people losing their shit? I've tried searching, found none.... |
There are certainly people who get very silly when you dare criticisize AEW. Look at how some of you are acting towards xrod.
|
I was told I loved having Vince McMahon’s dick in my mouth because I don’t like AEW.
|
I think the way people are acting toward Xrod is due to his posting the same thing, over and over, without any kinda backing.
All these claims of people who lose their mind about AEW Criticisms on TPWW, but I haven't seen anything that resembles that. Rather than make his case and prove his point by quoting said posts, he goes out of his way and looks real silly arguing over definitions and memes. |
It’s REALLY hard to talk to the people here. Conversation is...dense. I totally get it. It’s more rewarding to troll than make an effort, because people decide they just don’t wanna hear it. And they do get worked up, lol. That’s what the gang mentality is about. It’s to stamp out the unbeliever.
But it’s not just here. People seem to be tuning out and have stopped caring about the product at large, but for a while it was really hard to bring up an objective criticism anywhere. It did happen on TPWW, but it’s not exclusive to that and I don’t get the whole “Where are these people here?” argument. It doesn’t mean they don’t exist or that the double standards for one shitty sports entertainment company and another aren’t frustrating. |
xrod was right, and that’s what really shits people off.
