LOL the Cardinals might get blacked out

SammyG 01-02-2009 01:54 AM

that is so awful

DaveWadding 01-02-2009 02:06 AM

It's hilarious...1st playoff game in 10 years and you cant fill up your BRAND FUCKING NEW STADIUM with people to watch it?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-02-2009 02:21 AM

Its dumb they would black it out

Who wants to watch the Cardinals anyway?

Vastardikai 01-02-2009 03:43 AM

I want to see them...

Get beat by the Falcons.

DaveWadding 01-02-2009 03:47 AM

Michael Turner 150 yards and 2 TDs tomorrow, BOOK IT.

SammyG 01-02-2009 04:03 AM

i just wonder why they can't sell it out. Economy being bad? Week after X-mas and people are broke?

RP 01-02-2009 04:15 AM

If Arizone cant sell there game out, they should never be allowed in the playoffs again. Atleast not be allowed to have a home game. Thats so fucking stupid. If this game was in Atlanta, they'd sell out in like 4 hours.

OssMan 01-02-2009 04:23 AM

We refused to pay $80,000 to keep our Giants season tickets so maybe we will by season tickets for the Cardinals

Mr. Monday Morning 01-02-2009 06:04 AM

Vikings might not sell out either

RoXer 01-02-2009 06:23 AM

$1,000 for two decent seats.

$100 for nosebleeds.

Dave, you wanna go?

RoXer 01-02-2009 06:24 AM

You're paying.

Nervous Ferret 01-02-2009 06:40 AM

NFL 2008-2009 Season Thread. This has bothered me for a long time.

D Mac 01-02-2009 07:06 AM

Shanahan should go to the Chiefs!

RP 01-02-2009 07:27 AM

I wish these games were today

James Steele 01-02-2009 07:30 AM

Tom Brady might miss the 2009 season because of infections in his knee. Karma is a bitch Tombo.

Evil Vito 01-02-2009 12:11 PM

Well that makes the decision to retain Cassel easier. Not sure what the top 5 QB prices average out to be but if they've got the cap space it wouldn't shock me to see them Franchise Tag Cassel so as to not make a long-term commitment to him in case Tom comes back.

Mr. Monday Morning 01-02-2009 12:44 PM

$12m

Boomer 01-02-2009 01:00 PM

I can't believe I have to miss the Falcons game again. I'm going to go crazy at work. It's probably going to keep happening too...retail and weekends is no fun.

Record the game, and avoid ALL sources that would tell you the results. Watch it as if it were live when you get back home.

I did that with the Giants a few years back.

And according to ESPN, Peyton Manning will be named MVP

Boomer 01-02-2009 01:11 PM

Unfortunately I don't have a VCR, and I haven't had my MythTV box set up for ages, so I can't record it. Not unless I come back later today and spend all day just trying to set it up for that one game.

If I did it, nobody at work better fuck it up for me. I would punch them in the face.

Heros Welcome 01-02-2009 03:33 PM

Peyton takes home MVP #3 32 Votes

Pennington and Turner follow suit with 4 votes

SammyG 01-02-2009 04:56 PM

Good for Peyton, he deserves it.

RP 01-02-2009 06:20 PM

PEYTON:love:

Best QB ever

Boomer 01-02-2009 06:32 PM

I have no way of recording the game, thanks to no 64-bit drivers for my old capture card.

I guess I'm fucked.

ClockShot 01-02-2009 09:07 PM

Add Steve Spagnuolo, Josh McDaniels, and Jason Garrett to the list of names to the Broncos head coaching spot.

ClockShot 01-02-2009 09:08 PM

Edgerrin James is probably out of Arizona now that Tim Hightower has made his presence known.

RP 01-02-2009 09:26 PM

Tim " I Cant Run For Short Yardage " Hightower

Y2Ant 01-02-2009 11:26 PM

Isn't that like criticizing yourself for having a big penis?

DaveWadding 01-02-2009 11:27 PM

No, because if a RB can't convert a 3 & 1, then he is worthless.

Boomer 01-02-2009 11:53 PM

I had to installed 32-bit Vista on a random hard drive, but I got Windows MCE up and running. This recording better go well.

RP 01-03-2009 01:12 AM

Rod Woodson, on NFL Network, just said Peyton Manning should give the MVP award back to Demarcus Ware..............Demarcus ...... Ware...........

I'm all for having opinions, but com the fuck on. This guy should be fired just for saying something that dumb. This isnt an opinion. This is sensationalism. This guy should be gone next year. What a moron.

DrA 01-03-2009 01:54 AM

Here is someone like me would give anything to see the Arizona Cardinals play, and they can't even sell out their stadium.

RP 01-03-2009 05:59 AM

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—The NFL has given the Minnesota Vikings one last chance to sell out the Metrodome for Sunday’s playoff game against Philadelphia.

The Vikings have until 4:30 p.m. EST on Saturday to sell the remaining 3,100 tickets to avoid a television blackout in local markets.

The task isn’t as daunting as it appeared earlier in the week. The Vikings were granted their first extension on Thursday and still had a whopping 8,000 tickets to unload to avoid the first blackout since 1997.

But the team made big strides, selling nearly 5,000 tickets as of Friday afternoon. The remaining tickets are priced $80, $120 and $160 a piece. It’s the first time the Vikings have been in the playoffs since the 2004 season.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals have sold enough tickets to Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons for it to be televised in the Phoenix area.

The NFL gave the team two 24-hour extensions, the last expiring Friday afternoon. About 2,400 tickets remained Friday morning.

Tickets returned from the visiting team allotment and club seats remain available for purchase. Neither counts against the blackout rules.

Stay classy Minnesota

James Steele 01-03-2009 06:26 AM

I saw on ESPN where one of the teams sold a bunch of tickets to a dude who owns a pool supply company and he gave away 2 tickets for each $100 of pool supplies purchased.

Heros Welcome 01-03-2009 03:13 PM

I have been waiting for this day for the past 5 years! LETS GO DIRTY BIRDS!!!

SammyG 01-03-2009 05:37 PM

SammyG 01-03-2009 05:39 PM

these announcers are awful and it's only been 28 seconds into the game

DaveWadding 01-03-2009 05:48 PM

Good thing you don't play Madden.

Mr. Monday Morning 01-03-2009 08:39 PM

Keith Brooking blows the coverage and the Cards are headed east. Where they'll get smashed, no doubt.

Heros Welcome 01-03-2009 08:43 PM

Brooking has been pissing me off all fuckin season, and he blows the coverage when we needed him most...MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!!!

Hell of a run ATL...hell of a run...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-03-2009 08:47 PM

Coulda been Lofton on that coverage...you never know. Either way neither LB should have been worried about coming up on that RB leaking out of the backfield.

Matt Ryan is the future though, that last scoring drive they had the Falcons didn't run the ball once. He lead them down the field to put them in a position to win - the defense just couldn't step up.

RoXer 01-03-2009 08:50 PM

Where in the hell did Edge come from? I don't think anyone in thier right mind was expecting that kind of game. I mean it's just 73 yards but but that's huge jump. 73 yards is about his season total. :haha:

I almost killed everything around me when they tried that end-around the last possesion. WTF play call was that. Even if that got us a touchdown I would have still said it was a bad call.

I'm really hoping to play at Carolina next week.

Evil Vito 01-03-2009 08:51 PM

I really hope the Vikes can somehow pull one out tomorrow because I'd MUCH rather play the Cardinals...but I just can't see the Eagles losing.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-03-2009 09:35 PM

Please God,

Let the Colts win. Please let Bob Sanders completely obliterate Philip Rivers. Badly.

I will be forever grateful.

- Me

Boomer 01-03-2009 10:26 PM

A few gift plays on both sides. The Falcons could have won...Arizona basically won all on big plays.

I'm pleased though. Matt Ryan played really really well.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-03-2009 10:35 PM

Yeah, even though they lost, Falcons looked good today. And I'm very glad to say that, considering the state they were in a year ago.

RP 01-03-2009 10:40 PM

COMON COLTS! COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evil Vito 01-03-2009 11:04 PM

Mike Scifres has been insane this game.

Nervous Ferret 01-03-2009 11:42 PM

I am rooting for the winner of the Ravens/Chad Pennington game. Then after that I guess the Cardinals. And after that I guess the Panthers. I am ok with a Steelers Superbowl. Any other team I really do not like. Eh, I could live with an Eagles or Titans Superbowl. Atlanta would have been ok too.

Just please not the Giants, Vikings, Chargers or Colts, especially Giants/Colts. I had enough torture last year with Pats/Giants.

The point is, I need to start liking a better team :(

UmbrellaCorporation 01-03-2009 11:44 PM

COME ON COLTS.

FUCK SAN DIEGO

Nervous Ferret 01-04-2009 12:04 AM

Teams that I like:
Jets (obv)
---------
Packers
Bengals
Jaguars
49ers

Teams I hate:
Patriots
Giants
Colts
Dolphins (sans Chad)
Raiders
Chiefs
Chargers
Saints

And everyone else I am pretty indifferent to. So every year I am pretty much relegated to rooting for teams that I don't really care for over teams that I can't stand. J-E-T-S JEST JEST JEST :(

UmbrellaCorporation 01-04-2009 12:15 AM

How are you feeling about the Mangini firing, Nerf?

I'm not from NYC, so I dunno what everyone's thinking about it up there, but it seems pretty gay to me, tbqh.

Nervous Ferret 01-04-2009 12:34 AM

I liked Mangini, but it seemed to be the popular thing to do. Really at 8-3 coming off wins AT New England and AT Tennesse to finish 9-7... is just an embarrassment. Hard to forgive something like that, even if a lot of it was on Favre. (It was) But then there was some piss poor gameplanning too. (How does Leon Washington NOT get 10-15 touches a game? pitiful)

But getting rid of Mangini was a very popular decision amongst JEts fans, to answer your question.

wooo colts suck

IC Champion 01-04-2009 12:39 AM

Sproles has 328 yards, that more yards than the average team throws for.

37-14 Colts

The Niners and I'm damn proud of it.

But I loathe the Colts and their lame ass bandwagon fans so it is extra sweet when they lose and I go around town the day after, I see so many depressed fans. Which will be funny because once Harrison and Manning retires and they start to suck again, all of those fans will go away.

And now I get to watch the news where all of the depressed fans are crying over it.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-04-2009 12:57 AM

I'm not a major Colts fan, but I don't like SD.

I would have loved to see a Manning Bowl...but I don't care much either way. Gotta love Darren Sproles, probably the only NFL player shorter than me. :o

I really wish they would change overtime rules tho. At least give the other team a shot. Just because that would lead to more epic games.
