C] The initials 'WWF' and the words 'World Wrestling Federation' roll off the tounge more naturally and organically than the initials 'WWE' and the words 'World Wrestling Entertainment'.

And if regaining the initials, and the right to speak them on TV, ever happened, it would likely come with a heavy price...about $100,000,000 minimum for it to happen. =P

*cough*

So yeah...

I'm pretty sure that would have happened without the name change, though.

Doesn't the saint jimmy clean up the muck initiative have the power to merge all the 'ryan Clark is da wurzt U guyz' threads into one handy thread?

Sepholio 08-09-2012 03:58 AM

Initiative.....initiated.

addy2hotty 08-09-2012 06:40 AM

The whole reason they say 'WWE' instead of 'World Wrestling Entertainment' in terms of Championships is because 'World Wrestling Entertainment' sounds stupid.

They'll never get the Panda people to hand over the initials anyway.

Uhhh....something is weird here...what the hell?! O.o

stultiloquy 08-09-2012 12:05 PM

WWE...WWF...doesn't matter to me, I'm just glad they can quit blurring out all the WWF logos in their archival footage.

Swish 08-24-2012 11:53 PM

Generations: A Old School Broadcast.

Something which WWE hasn't done I'm pretty sure.
Create a tv show, for old school wrestlers, Call it Generations.

Have a monthly spot event.

I think this would be pretty sick in my eyes. Views?

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2012 06:57 PM

A wrestling show only for guys with legends contracts would actually be somewhat awesome. Just sayin'.

Jim Duggan gets to win the big one finally.

Swish 08-29-2012 02:52 PM

Did Punk Blade on Raw?

Or was it a gen bleed ?. thoughts?

Razzamajazz 08-29-2012 02:54 PM

yes, right as he was getting thrown into the cage you could see him dragging his fingers over his forehead. he handed the blade to the ref as he hit the mat.

loopydate 08-29-2012 02:57 PM

I'm pretty sure it was hardway. The cut was too high up his head for a typical blade job. I think King caught him with the fist drop. Now, MAYBE Punk bladed above his hairline to make it LOOK hardway, but it seems like an unnecessary move to make.

Razzamajazz 08-29-2012 02:58 PM

am i really the only one that saw it?

Juan 08-29-2012 02:59 PM

gen bleed

DLVH84 08-29-2012 03:09 PM

I was thinking it was hardway as well.

CSL 08-29-2012 03:10 PM

very quickly watched it on Youtube with not the best quality of footage and skipped into until I noticed blood and went back from there (so I could have missed it entirely) but it looks to me on first impression that Punk nicks himself after Lawler has given him the punches but before the fist drop aka the kind of thing he could try and get away with to the office and the kind of thing Punk would maybe do given how much he loves the "legends" and is the way he is. No sign of anything being handed off to the ref tho, unless I'm missing something, first time he gets close enough is when he's putting the gloves on after the knee in the corner

whiteyford 08-29-2012 03:14 PM

What loopy said, looked hardway, and the placement seemed high, but if he was going to do it to look legit it'd be the place to do it I guess.

just seen this bit. He goes in headfirst, puts his hand to his head and the ref checks he's ok. Nothing more, there's a close up of Punk's head sans any blood after this. Punk does touch his head a few times as if he thinks he's bleeding tho so maybe it happens hardway here higher up on his head and just takes a bit of time to "trickle"

Emperor Smeat 08-29-2012 03:23 PM

If he did blade, then he did a good job considering I thought it was due to Lawler nailing Punk too hard by accident. Lawler's reaction to the punch made it seem like he really hurt his hand a bit.

GD 08-29-2012 03:26 PM

Let us analyze.

Lock Jaw 08-29-2012 03:29 PM

I think this is just "newz". Absolutely no reason for Punk to blade in a match like that. I guess I could see him defying the rules against blading, but not for some match on RAW against Jerry Lawler (even a cage match).

there's hardly ever a reason for anybody to blade anywhere but blading/bleeding isn't really that big of a deal to a lot of guys and Punk likes everybody to know he walks to the beat of his own drum. I wouldn't be surprised if he did it just to give King something

CSL 08-29-2012 03:47 PM

or it could simply be nothing/an accident. Don't really know without watching more than 30-40 seconds in good quality

Swiss Ultimate 08-29-2012 03:47 PM

CSL, so in your professional opinion you would say that Punk bladed?

Swiss Ultimate 08-29-2012 03:48 PM

Nevermind...

Tommy Gunn 08-29-2012 04:16 PM

If there wasn't a cage I bet they would have had a guy run down to close the wound with glue, but to me it looks like an accident.

Lock Jaw 08-29-2012 04:17 PM

I like the epic battle of Charles Robinson vs. The Rubber Glove

CSL 08-29-2012 04:37 PM

hardway

so this I guess

Rock Bottom 08-29-2012 04:39 PM

Looks like he bladed after Lawler threw him into the cage. (WRONG!)

IF he bladed, which is really hard to tell without different shots, a wild theory might be something along the lines of what CSL said, to try to give Lawler something.

My guess would be, in that situation, that CM Punk probably thought it was really stupid for him to wrestle/squash Lawler. He really went out of his way to sell Lawler's first punch in the match. I think he's just really trying to sell his fist, like "the old man can still punch," rather than just squash/shit all over him like everyone else does in the ring.

I mean, if I were the WWE champion and I were wrestling a hall of famer/announcer that's just there to job for people randomly I'd probably feel pretty weird just squashing the guy. What does it achieve other than cheap heel heat? (which by the way is only being met with silence)

It could have been an accident but I really doubt it. And if it did, as you can see above, why he would do it is just random speculation.

Swish actually made a topic that actually warrants some discussion on the issue. Don't be a dick for the sake of being a dick.
