The armor suit you find depends on what your level is. That battle is not easy at all if you go in there level 38+. Trust me, I was using elaborate mine placement and line of sight VATS critical hits and it still was a multiple death affair. I got a full suit of X01 MKIII for my troubles though which was well well worth it at the time.

Sepholio 01-20-2016 02:07 PM

Yeah well now that I have the appropriate perks I can one/two shot fusion cores from any angle, even through obstructions. So that would probably work. Couldn't do that then, though. I still had to get line of sight on their back to hit the cores or combat inhibitors at that point. I could get one of them easy enough but the other would usually box me into corner or the soon to explode corpse of his friend and hold me there with one of those 'pin' moves where they grab you or toss you down for a second.

I gave the Dunwich Blade to Curie. Perfect compliment to me Triple H's everybody with the Stunning (Steve Austin) Super Sledge.

Shadow 01-21-2016 12:10 AM

X- 01 actually. Fight was real easy to me as I had the Assaultron fall off the building and the Sentry bot get stuck in a hallway.

Almost felt sorry for the bastards.

Please Punish Timmy? HOW! Can't even get the quest!

Heisenberg 02-09-2016 12:06 PM

Have to pee real bad so I'll come back and read the rest, but the settlers who give out quests to save them and then go out on a run are a bitch to track down and turn into to. The other night I had to put one of them 6 feet under for dodging me around the map

Kris P Lettus 02-09-2016 12:30 PM

Into.the brotherhood of steel part. The protecting the Commonwealth part is exactly like the Minutemen shit. So repetitive.

Heisenberg 02-16-2016 01:31 PM

Trying to hold back on details about the DLC coming next month. My willpower is low though, didn't expect DLC til the summer so I'm good to go

road doggy dogg 02-16-2016 04:20 PM

Dumb question that I probably should know the answer to: I have the Collector's Edition, does that include the season pass for all the DLC? Three DLC packs were announced today at a price of like $30 (or $50 if you wait until March 1)

road doggy dogg 02-16-2016 04:20 PM

I'm hearing conflicting reports. Some people saying CE includes it, but apparently the Pip-Boy Edition doesn't?

Shadow 02-16-2016 04:26 PM

Pretty sure that it does have the Season pass but you can always ask Bethesda.

Also the GECK is coming soon. It's in testing phase now.

road doggy dogg 02-16-2016 04:28 PM

I'll have to take a look when I get home from work... hope it does, would make me feel way more justified for shelling out for the Pip Boy lol (even though it's fuckin sweet)

Emperor Smeat 02-16-2016 06:11 PM

According to Bethesda, the Season Pass' price is going up due to them changing DLC plans for the game. Pretty hefty bump from $29.99 to $49.99 as a result and the price change takes effect on March 1st.

Quote:

In any case, because of the increased amount of DLC on the way, Bethesda is also increasing the price of the game's season pass from $29.99 to $49.99 on March 1. If you've already purchased the pass, there's no change, you'll still get everything. And if you buy it before March 1, you'll get the $29.99 price, too.

Heisenberg 02-17-2016 09:07 AM

purchased the Season Pass last night, they're not getting anymore out of me on this go round

Shadow 02-17-2016 11:30 AM

Same here. It'll be worth it for the next set of DLC. Which I really really hope follows the same vein as this set of DLC.

Emperor Smeat 02-17-2016 06:01 PM

Green Man Gaming currently has the PC version of the Season Pass on discount ($5 off) for those interested in getting it before the official price hike.

New settler "menu" is just an icon that shows what job they are assigned to. Lame.

Better than nothing I guess , but could still be much better.

drave 02-19-2016 07:03 AM

That is a pretty good addition. One of the reasons I never bothered with settlements.

I would put people in specific clothes to tell what they did, but that was shite. Now, when they fix the Needy Preston issue, I'll go all out with settlements.

That's really all it was gonna be in this patch. And really, that's all I want besides the ability to do it all from the Pip Boy.

Fignuts 02-20-2016 08:42 PM

I swear you could make an internet meme solely on the weird places you find brahman caravans.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-20-2016 11:47 PM

Few corrections i've noticed. Alot of plants that were dead are now allowed to be picked up again and planted.

Emperor Smeat 02-23-2016 05:34 PM

Couple of Fallout 4 news got released recently.

Mod support for all platforms will arrive between April and June.
Quote:

But in an interview with Game Informer, Bethesda’s Todd Howard announced that that will be changing in the coming months, with official mod support rolling out in stages between two of the three currently announced DLCs. PC will be getting it in April, Xbox One in May, and PS4 in June:
http://www.destructoid.com/fallout-4...y-343919.phtml

Survival Mode was announced to be arriving as a DLC pack within the same time frame. The Automatron DLC pack on the other hand will just be a minor add-on for the game. Betas for DLC packs also announced to likely contain stuff that will get cut for official DLC releases.
Quote:

Bethesda's Todd Howard finally revealed when mod support would be coming to consoles for Fallout 4, but he dropped a few more tidbits as well speaking to Game Informer. Most notably, survival mode is coming as a free update, and will be a bit more hardcore than the current iteration. According to Howard, Bethesda is working on mechanics like "you can't save, it only saves your game when you sleep. You can't fast travel. There're all of these diseases. We want the combat to feel different, as opposed to just being a bullet sponge."

As for the Automatron DLC, it will involve a "little quest line" as expected, so don't think it's going to be a big add-on or anything. DLC betas will last a month though, and might involve features that don't make it to the retail build.

Shadow 02-23-2016 08:43 PM

Ok so defending settlements in Survival is gonna be a tad difficult I guess.

I CAN'T WAIT!

Clever folks over at reddit have recently mined the game and found new details for Bethesda's upcoming survival mode update for Fallout 4, which the publisher has now confirmed. Essentially, you can enable it anywhere with a simple menu swipe, and it instantly allows you to do more (as well as take more) damage. Manual and quicksave options are disabled, and you'll need to sleep at least an hour to save. Fast Travel is completely gone.

Beyond that, enemies won't show up on your compass, and fatigue actually...matters now. You can read a whole bunch of other minute details here in the full log

Nah, it says "more":

You now deal, but also take, more damage.

Fignuts 02-26-2016 10:49 PM

Well that doesn't make any sense.

DAMN iNATOR 02-26-2016 10:53 PM

LOL, I dunno if it does or not, just skimmed through the article enough to see that and stuff about "maximum challenge, blah, blah, blah..."

I'm assuming it's probably similar to FO: NV's Hardcore mode in a lot of ways with certain key differences.

I CAN'T WAIT!

One thing I wish they'd fix is the "having to physically BE there" garbage (not just that happiness bug, either). Especially if updated survival is going to do away with fast travel.

If I'm futzing around near the Glowing Sea, I dont want to hike all the way back up to Tenpines Bluff. And I damn sure shouldn't have to with the wall I built, a 3 to 1 ratio on defenses vs food/water, and every citizen heavily armed by me personally, just to watch them essentially vaporize every conceivable raiding party or beast without having to lift a fucking finger when I arrive..

But heaven forbid I *don't* go, then they act like they got their asses handed to them, all my turrets are broken, and the population is down to like 3 people. I shouldn't have to cross the map just to stand there with my thumb up my ass simply to not "fail" a settlement defense.

Shadow 03-01-2016 04:29 PM

DLC shall be dropping any day this month. Was hoping for today but alas no dice.

road doggy dogg 03-15-2016 11:48 PM

shooting down Vertibirds is so therapeutic
