I think this Seinfeld standup act gimmick is just the trick for Noid to fix his image. Everyones favorite part of that show was the standup bits.

Jordan 07-20-2022 07:08 PM

Is anyone here thinking that they will be watching the new ROH product when/if it develops into some kind of a show, bit on on legit TV or streaming or whatever. I am in theory, going to watch it but only if they have decent crowds. I don't want to watch some Orlando Studio ROH tapings.

Mr. Nerfect 07-20-2022 11:38 PM

They’re going to fuck it up like they fuck up everything.

Well Britt Baker made my day. She was asked about how Rosa compared their rivalry to Austin/Rock. She basically said, no, we are not on that level, not even close and Rosa should keep her mouth shut because every time she opens it she says something stupid.

You fuckin tell her Britt.

XL 07-21-2022 05:50 AM

I mean, that wasn’t the point Rosa was making but yeah, sure.

Sepholio 07-21-2022 06:02 AM

lol, k

Evil Vito 07-21-2022 07:45 AM

Was gonna try to shoot for the same tix for Grand Slam this year since it was just perfect last year (front row upper deck, so nobody in front of me....plus as a bonus I was on the aisle)

Looking at the seating chart, for some reason they've decided to reverse the setup this time. So the stage is on the side of the other side of the arena. Doesn't seem it'd make a difference though because the arena should be pretty much the same on both sides.

It really wasn’t. At all. This was one of the more blatantly desperate attempts to force a narrative in a long line of them.

She meant that she and Britt would keep finding their way back to each other and have a “career feud”…like Rock and Austin. Not that they’d be the biggest feud during the hottest period of the business facing off against each other at 3 Manias.

Don’t get me wrong, Rosa comes out with some tripe and she’s nowhere near the level that’s she’s currently being pushed to but it’s clear what she was trying to say albeit very clumsily. .

#1-norm-fan 07-21-2022 08:04 AM

I don’t even think it was all that clumsy. It was clear as day what she was saying to anyone who wasn’t reading it with an ulterior motive in mind. It’s not her job to choose her words in the least twistable way possible.

Evil Vito 07-21-2022 08:33 AM

Nah, making a mountain out of a molehill about anything anyone affiliated with AEW does is all the rage.

Evil Vito 07-21-2022 08:35 AM

Tbf it was no different when everything in WWE land got dissected with a fine tooth comb on here. You know, back when most of the board actually gave a shit about WWE.

Evil Vito 07-21-2022 11:12 AM

Protip for Jordan, AAA or anyone else that might be thinking about going to Grand Slam again, if you use "A View From My Seat" or anything like that as a frame of reference just remember everything's inversed. So like section 110 is dead center of the ring, meaning 109/111 are flipped this year etc

So below would be something close to the "equivalent" of the seats I just got, just reversed. Liked my view last year but couldn't get tix for there and honestly this looks like a better view anyway even if there was an extra spend. pumped.

It’s a pretty well-known rule to not compare yourself to the biggest stars in the industry. Once you drop Austin and Rock’s names or compare your series to Flair/Steamboat, or a moment to Andre/Hogan you are done. Those are just examples. She should know that. Even her coworkers are like “shut up, dude.”

People want their favorite wrestlers to be smart, but a lot of them are just fucking idiots. As you said, she’s always putting her foot in her mouth.

drave 07-21-2022 11:27 AM

And to think that there are millions more people out there that still care way more about WWE than AEW. Fucking scary how dead wrestling is.

IF the "View from my Seat" is a visual of CM Phil, it is a HORRIBLE seat. In that case, you would only want to buy an obstructive view seat to avoid seeing that weak bitch.

Yeah I get that but how do you get the point she’s trying to make across succinctly? She could have said Trish/Lita for a female comparison but she’d probably catch almost as much flak for that. Kane/Undertaker? How many “career feuds” can you think of that didn’t involved top guys (or guys that would go on to be top guys)? The whole thing just feels a little hypercritical.

#1-norm-fan 07-21-2022 01:19 PM

I get your thing is to try to reason to the bitter end without being too combative, XL. But I really think you’re being too nice here. Lol

She made the point fine. Like I said, it shouldn’t be up to her to look for any little thing in her words that can possibly be twisted by people with an agenda.

XL 07-21-2022 01:20 PM

You’re probably right.

#1-norm-fan 07-21-2022 01:21 PM

(She did also give Lita and Trish as an example in the quote, by the way.)

Fignuts 07-21-2022 01:42 PM

I wouldn't have a problem with it even if she did compare herself directly.

If you aren't always presenting yourself as a bigger deal than you are, then you never will be a bigger deal than you are.

Fignuts 07-21-2022 01:43 PM

I'm not sure when people started having a problem with that. It's just showmanship.

Wonder what ever happened to the infamous floor pisser that worked at my old job, know he got laid off while I was there but not sure what ever happened to him after.

I'd like to think he hasn't left his house since COVID started. For the betterment of society.

Just say your personal issue isn’t over. You have a feeling you’ll cross paths many times in the future. You don’t need to psychological plant the analogy that you are on a level that is going to betray how not on that level you are not (which is what happened — she’s still fucking recovering from it — even with her coworkers).

Lol, it’s been forever. People used to get frustrated by “Who is the next Rock” on here way back in 2004. It’s not a new thing. You don’t compare yourself to something that has achieved greatness in the mind of your target audience. It’s a rule of showmanship. If you’re an actor, don’t compare yourself to Marlon Brando. If you’re a singer, don’t compare yourself to Frank Sinatra, etc.

If a movie has a similar plot to The Godfather, saying it has a similar plot to The Godfather is not the same as comparing it to The Godfather. Jesus Christ. And if someone thinks that, fuck ‘em. That’s their own inability or unwillingness to understand basic fucking context. Again, it shouldn’t be her job to protect her words from dumb/desperate try-hards.

Good faith conversation my ass. Lol

Also…

“No, I think Thunder Rosa should talk the least amount as possible in wrestling and in interviews and in everything and the world would be a better place because she sounds stupid all the time when she says anything. That’s what I think [Baker smiled].“

SHOOOOOOOT!!!!

Vastardikai 07-21-2022 11:21 PM

On one hand, sometime Rosa can be cringe on some of the things she says. Not gonna lie on that.

On the other hand, Britt can fuck right off. Like right the fuck off. How does she not understand one aspect of the wrestling business that I got when I was doing E-Wrestling bullshit: Don't bury your opponent. But, Britt sees Rosa as a threat to her star power, because people actually WANT to wrestle Thunder Rosa. Luckily for Britt, she dates a string bean of a man and gives just enough attention to the Money Mark that he gets a boner and feels important, so she is in a better spot than she has any right to be in.

Britt shouldn’t have taken those swipes, I agree. Rosa needs a talking to from management. She does seem to play a game really well, I dunno — I see why Britt Baker is potentially more valuable than Rosa, who seems really hit and miss.

Seth Freakin’ Rollins over here breaking that well-known rule, comparing himself to Shawn, Eddie, and Bret.

Even Dave is beginning to mock Rampage now.

Mr. Nerfect 07-23-2022 10:57 PM

Danielson is cleared and is going to be wrestling Daniel Garcia on Dynamite. I don’t dislike Garcia, but come on man — choose your spots.

Jordan 07-24-2022 07:53 AM

It's gonna be a good match. Garcia is getting a big push, it's a better investment than Guevara I think.

xrodmuc316 07-24-2022 11:04 AM

It is too bad Bryan isn't Tiny Khan's favorite.

Fignuts 07-24-2022 01:21 PM

They could turn Garcia into huge babyface by running an angle where Sammy runs him out of the JAS. Plant the seeds by having Garcia begrudgingly shake Danielson's hand after their match.
