Why do you hate Brady so much if you admire him as a player? It's not like he's a douchebag like Lebron James or something. Is it because he's a "pretty boy"?
Is it just a rivalry thing?

Fucking hate good looking talented people who don't cause problems.

Pretty intimidated by the Broncos new (interim)coach

James Steele 12-08-2010 06:05 AM

I hate the Patriots, but I am glad they raped the Jets. Hopefully Rex Ryan will learn to shut his fucking mouth. The ONLY reason the Jets made the playoffs last year is because the Colts benched their starters and then they got hot and made it to the AFC title game. Shut the fuck up and play football.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-08-2010 07:54 AM

The Broncos job is still probably pretty highly regarded, so I'm wondering if Cowher or Gruden will be lured out of their tv gigs. Maybe Schottenheimer wants to come back to try to stick it to the Chargers.

Skippord 12-08-2010 07:58 AM

I'm throwing my hat into the ring

Please give Gruden the job and get him out of announcing!

Cowher I can't see being interested in any coaching gig outside of Carolina or New York.

Obviously I'm biased but I don't think Rex is as big of an arrogant ass as people make him out to be. He just wants to motivate his team and get some belief in a club that's had none for 40 years. Yeah he does talk a lot, and for the near 2 years he's been in charge he's backed it up, until Monday night. And he put his hands up and said he was outclassed:

"It's the biggest butt-whipping I've taken in a coach, in my career. ... They out-executed us, they outcoached us. ... I thought we were going to have a huge game and it was just the opposite. ... I came in to kick [Bill Belichick’s] butt and he kicked mine.”

Besides, the Jets got their asses kicked in Foxborough last year around this time and still made it 2 rounds further than New England, so we'll just have to see come January.

James Steele 12-08-2010 08:37 AM

They won't be playing any teams that will bench their starters this year.

Team Sheep 12-08-2010 08:40 AM

Jets aren't 6-6 going into week 14 this year though.

James Steele 12-08-2010 08:46 AM

At Pittsburgh and At Chicago back-to-back outta be fun.

Team Sheep 12-08-2010 08:49 AM

Indeed. But if we're just talking about getting into the playoffs, that can be pretty much clinched as soon as this weekend.

Ugh. It's stupid to me still. It doesn't matter if he backed it up. He shouldn't be such a fuckstick anyways. Even coaches with multiple rings don't do that. It's just shitty.

And he hasn't backed it up. I don't agree with that either. They haven't won shit. Not trying to be a "dickhead" here, but having a good regular season record over 2 years doesn't really mean anything. At all.
I actually can't believe them or anyone would get "gassed" about that.

Patriots policy seems to be to hammer home that they "haven't accomplished anything until they win the SuperBowl."
I heard Brady say that today and avoid getting gassed. Same goes for Bellicheck x1,000,000. It doesn't really matter to me if it's what he really thinks. Even if they know they're great and probably going to win, they just take the high road.
Maybe they're more secure because of their past success, but they also had the same approach from the getgo.

Either way it pisses me off.

Jeritron 12-08-2010 04:43 PM

I also don't think Rex Ryan is a bad guy or anything. He's just an annoying bufoon. I feel like he just talks and realizes he's an idiot, and keeps talking to make it better, thus digging himself deeper.

It's either something incredibly unwarranted and arrogant, or incredibly self-depricating. He'll go from talking smack to kissing Bellicheck's ass, and it's all really just uncomfortable to watch.
I feel bad kinda, because there are tons of people like him. But he needs to shut the fuck up. He's way impulsive and clumsy.

He's like Michael Scott but way less endearing.

He hasn't even completed 2 seasons yet, and his first was an AFC title appearance as a rookie head coach. I'm not saying 9-3 is backing it up but he hasn't not backed it up. Give the guy a chance i.e. wait and see where the Jets finished come February.

Jeritron 12-08-2010 05:09 PM

I'm not saying they suck or have had a long time either. I'm just saying they haven't won shit, so why is he such a loudmouth asshole?
Actually, my gripe is with being a coach/player being a loudmouth asshole in general. Doesn't matter if he's won 9 games or 9 superbowls. That behavior is not admirable.

I didn't say it would be okay if Bellicheck was doing it too, but he isn't. I just think there's something to be said for avoiding the garbage talk/media, and making a statement on the field. And then moving on.

Why should I give him a chance/wait and see where they end up? He's not returning the favor, by talking before they get there.

Team Sheep 12-08-2010 05:49 PM

I think the point is that other teams aren't supposed to like it :p He knows he's risking a lot by saying those things. One day it will bite him in the ass (he got a taste of that Monday). You either love him or hate him really.

Jeritron 12-08-2010 06:01 PM

What's the reward on that risk?

Team Sheep 12-08-2010 07:02 PM

Looking like Jesus.

IC Champion 12-08-2010 07:51 PM

All I'm saying is Bill Bellicheck is working miracles with the New England defense, I don't know how he is able to come up with the genius schemes he does week after week.

I know. It's ridiculous. I'm angry that they're so good. So long as Brady and Belichick are there they will always have winning seasons.

I wish he would coach my football team because he seems like a great guy to have a beer with. Same quality I look for in a president

Droford 12-08-2010 08:10 PM

Jeritron 12-08-2010 08:12 PM

Wish he was a character. Watching Super Bowls gets so boring.

Jeritron 12-08-2010 08:14 PM

It should be noted that Bill Bellichick really isn't miserable. At all. He just doesn't show emotion and is very short with the media.
He's obviously a robot and perfectionist when it comes to football, but I've seen plenty of him when he's not "on the job" and he's pretty relaxed.
Just as he never acts like a clown, he also rarely acts angry or snaps. You never see a Parcells or Cowher type reaction/press conference out of him.

Skippord 12-08-2010 08:15 PM

he is actually really funny in everything I see him involved in outside of the season. like the history of the AFL show.

CSL 12-08-2010 08:30 PM

I'm a big fan of both Belichick and Rex for completely different reasons, Rex because of how much of a geezer he seems, the 'entertaining fat guy' who fills his teams with confidence and swagger but will happily let them know when they shit the bed and Belichick because he's a fucking killer. Strikes me as being really dry/deadpan in terms of humour, maybe has an 'us against them' mentality like Jose Mourinho (for the 2 people in here that might know who he is) and would be amazing to play for, which is what matters along with results.

CSL 12-08-2010 08:31 PM

Not really sure why I thought I'd let you all know that.

Vince Lombardi said it best "Act like you've been there before."

IC Champion 12-08-2010 11:48 PM

Bill Bellicheck is the Tom Landry of our generation, he probably be in New England another 15 years or whenever he retires, and he can win with anybody, he wins with his systems, and does it every year.

IC Champion 12-08-2010 11:49 PM

I mean Belichick made Matt Cassell look like a Pro Bowl quarterback.

SammyG 12-09-2010 05:19 AM

DrA 12-09-2010 09:40 AM

I used to hate the Patriots but I want them to win the Super Bowl this year.

Cooler Tom Schuler 12-09-2010 03:58 PM

Using the ESPN Playoff Machine ( http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine ) to pick the winners through the rest of the season, here's my anticipated playoff seeding-

AFC
1. New England
2. Pittsburgh
3. San Diego
4. Indianapolis
5. Baltimore
6. New York

NFC
1. Atlanta
2. Green Bay
3. Philadelphia
4. St. Louis
5. New Orleans
6. New York

Team Sheep 12-09-2010 05:24 PM

Lol I got Dallas, Miami, Houston and Oakland in the play offs. I remember this thing from last year, so much fun.

SammyG 12-09-2010 05:47 PM

The idea of the Rams having a home playoff game makes me feel incredible.

Team Sheep 12-09-2010 06:22 PM

The idea of a 7-9 team hosting a play off game is insane. That really needs to change. All division champions should get a play off place yes, but 3rd-6th seeds should be ranked based on record.

Cooler Tom Schuler 12-09-2010 08:29 PM

The concept of a 7-9 hosting is bad, but it's still terribly unlikely.

McLegend 12-09-2010 08:30 PM

The concept of an 8-8 team hosting is also bad.

Emperor Smeat 12-09-2010 09:14 PM

Titans officially the worst offensive team in the league since ESPN had the stat of them not scoring a TD on offense in the last 14 quarters in a row.

Aguakate 12-09-2010 09:42 PM

Wow...I just found out that Cowboys QB Tony Romo is a second generation Mexican American on his father's side. Tony's real name is Antonio Ramiro Romo. What the heck?

Droford 12-09-2010 11:10 PM

send him back to mexico

also, the titans just blew the shot they had at winning this game..Garcon went gor about 40 yards..ugh

OssMan 12-09-2010 11:17 PM

Gay ass Thursday Night Football needs to end. Who wants to stay up on a Thursday night and watch that

Droford 12-10-2010 08:10 AM

The betting community wants to kill Jeff Fisher. I think the line was Colts -4.5 and the Colts were up 9. Fisher goes for the meaningless TD with no time left instead of kicking a FG and then going for an onside kick/TD to win outright. They had plenty of time to kick the FG as they were down close to the red zone with like 1 minute to go. People are accusing Fisher of being in the tank for Vegas, being a fucking moron, wanting him fired..etc

Glad I didnt bet the game lol.

Sure, but a division champion hosting a wild card game game against a team with a better record than them isn't too uncommon. I don't think that's right.

Ermaximus 12-10-2010 09:22 AM

Jeff Fisher will NOT be the Titans coach next year.

Droford, I have a wager for you, if you're up for it?

Droford 12-10-2010 12:04 PM

It almost seems like he's doing everything in his power to assure that will happen.

I bet he steps down as opposed to being fired though.

Emperor Smeat 12-10-2010 05:16 PM

I've heard of comparisons of how Fisher treated McNair's later years with the team vs. Vince Young's years but the main difference was McNair was much better as a QB and started to decline once he got injury prone.

Young hasn't developed the way the Titans are expecting and his attitude seems to be a big reason while Collins declined badly in stats compared to last few years.

VonErichLives 12-11-2010 10:36 AM

I'm obviously not a Jets fan, I don't hate the as much as the Dolphins but until the Dolphins have a good team it's not as much fun hating them.

As for Rex Ryan, I don't hate him.... he's a good coach, he's funny, my ONLY real issue is I think it's a bad idea for anyone especially a coach to keep making predictions for their own team to win, especially where every time he does it they don't.

ooTin 12-11-2010 01:36 PM

Evil Vito 12-12-2010 10:51 AM

Favre says he would have definitely sat had they played at the regularly scheduled time. Lol bullshit Brett.

What a mess. They HAVE to get the game in by Monday. Looks like Detroit is gonna be where they play it.

Team Sheep 12-12-2010 10:54 AM

Just cut the roof off and play open air :)

Evil Vito 12-12-2010 11:05 AM

They can't play outdoors (they discussed the University of Minnesota) unless the Giants have all of their cold weather gear sent to them. They understandably didn't lug it with them when they were meant to be playing in a dome.

Moreover, Detroit has all the FOX cameras set up already. Plus the University of Minnesota has 10,000 less seats.

Gonzo 12-12-2010 11:41 AM

The only thing that I'm pissed about is that I look forward to the game all week, and this happens. I don't think anything else really matters, as far as travel, a short week etc. It's 6 days for fuck's sake, that shit will iron itself out.

You say that, but if the tix are free they'll probably have it mostly full.
Detroit will make money on concessions and its all extra to them anyway.

And Im sure the Vikings will refund the last two home game tickets to ticket holders since their last home game is next week and they won't be playing in the Metrodome in 7 days either.

My guess is the game next week is at the college football stadium.
