Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler will love having Josh McDaniels as their head coach - I'm curious to see who he brings in as the D-Coordinator. Wonder if he is gonna take Dom Capers or go a different direction.

Also say goodbye to the days of Denver pumping out 1,000 yard rushers...

Shit. Really wanted Spags or Fraiser. Bowlen's asking to keep around most of the offensive staff.

As for Defensive Coordinator, word going around is that Mike Nolan is gonna get the job.

ClockShot 01-12-2009 01:40 PM

Also, Tony Dungy is supposed to be calling it a career.

Those fucking Giants must learn that in order to win, you have to be able to run AND pass. Jacobs can't do it all. Plax is missed, and the Eagles defense was ruthless with the 4th & 1 possessions. Eagles v. Ravens/Pittsburgh in Superbowl.

As for the Cards, big ups to them, as they were supposed to be blown out by the Panthers. Fitz is the fuckin man and is the best receiver in the league. He is making Warner look so good right now its not even funny. But that ass has to feel Dawkins, Mikell and that Eagles blitzing!

How can you say anything about the giants needing to learn how to win when they won the superbowl last year. Also i'm pretty sure you just need to be able to run and play defense

I think the Eagles played well, but in all honesty the Giants playcalling on offense hurt them more than anything else did in that game.

Right and the fact that the Giants couldn't bring down McNabb on 3rd and 20 played no part in the outcome of the game.

Gonzo 01-13-2009 12:03 AM

I never said it didn't. All I said was that I think the playcalling by the Giants on offense hurt them the most.

McLegend 01-13-2009 12:37 AM

1) Eagles Defense

2) Eli Manning

3) Donovan McNabb

4) Playcalling

Gonzo 01-13-2009 12:55 AM

Theres no denying the Eagles defense was playing unbelievable, but in all honesty it got to the point where I could call out the Giants playcalls presnap watching on TV. If I can do that, then so can the Eagles. The Giants just made it so easy for them. I don't want to take anything away from Philly because they are on a roll, but for all intensive purposes I hope they crash and burn (not in the literal sense). Props to them and all but I hope they get the shit kicked out of them, if not next week then in the Bowl.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-13-2009 12:59 AM

Eli Manning played like absolute shit in that game, not only passing the ball but running as well. That QB sneak attempt was pathetic. I mean the Eagles defensiveline did a good job of standing up the center but Eli could have still dove underneath for the first, instead he just ducked his head and ran into the centers back like a retard.

McLegend 01-13-2009 01:35 AM

Eli was the worse player on the field.

First play from scrimmage he threw a duck to a wide open Steve Smith I think it was. Basically then the game over, because Eli can't throw in the wind.

Johnny Vegas 01-13-2009 11:53 AM

I mean some of the plays were predictable by the Giants, but with the 3-headed monster that was the Giants' running attack, we still held them down. When you put the game in Eli Manning's hands, you are either going to get 1.) Last year's SB strech Eli or 2.) 2005 Eli. I've always said that Eli is DANGEROUS when he is on a roll/winning streak. When he comes off of a bye or hasn't been playing well lately, he is either going to have to depend on the running/defense or PLAXICO.

The Eagles DEFENSE knew exactly what to do. Get in Eli's face and stop the run. Jacobs was supposed to be the factor and in the red zone/30 yard line he is pretty damn good. But that stingy defense stopped them.

And our offense was acceptable. Could've put up even MORE points but didn't take advantage of the red zone. Overall, Eagles played better and planned better for the Giants. The problem with the Giants is they think they will either win from Jacobs, Plaxico, or Eli. Going to have to stretch it out a little bit more than that.

Johnny Vegas 01-13-2009 11:54 AM

As far as us crashing and burning, in all fairness, i expect that from division rivals so :)

McLegend 01-18-2009 05:46 PM

The team that beats the defending Super bowl champ in the playoffs is 0-11 in the next game. Add that to a 24-6 lead at the half, and it's not looking good.

It can be done though.

Going to buy a new Warner jersey tomorrow. They finally gave me a reason to.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-18-2009 07:45 PM

Every time I bought a Patriots jersey the guy got traded/released/signed with another team so I decided to go with something different. I also thought Matt Leinart was gonna be the shit in the NFL........guess I was wrong

SammyG 01-18-2009 08:11 PM

That Ward injury looked insanely serious. How is he fine.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-18-2009 08:26 PM

Those African kids probably are getting sick of Eagles NFC Champion shirts now.

I mean, over there, the Bills have won 4 Super Bowls too, so at least they have something different to wear on occasion.

Joe Flacco is horrible.

Team Sheep 01-18-2009 09:43 PM

Glad the Eagles are out. So overrated.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-18-2009 10:01 PM

Limas Sweed lowered the boom on Ivy...god damn

Steelers not getting that FG off at the end of the half might come back to haunt them tho...

UmbrellaCorporation 01-18-2009 10:55 PM

Polamalu just ran it like all the way back.

22 - 14 Steelers, with about 4 and a half left.

Looks like we may get Steelers/Cards.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-18-2009 11:07 PM

Oh man, I hope McGahee is okay.

He's been wheeled off on a stretcher tied down.

DrA 01-18-2009 11:08 PM

Where have I seen that before

Evil Vito 01-19-2009 12:10 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Steelers/Cards should be a great one. Cardinals offense vs. Steelers defense = Epic</font>

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-19-2009 12:14 AM

Just not a fan of the Steelers, would have much rather seen the Ravens. Oh well

I think McGahee will be alright

Boomer 01-19-2009 12:22 AM

Sure the Ravens defense is fun to watch, but god Flacco is pedestrian. I know I'm a Falcons homer, but I'm offended that there are people who think he deserves ROTY over Ryan.

I mean Flacco is probably the best QB the Ravens have had since forever, but he's got a hell of a lot more to learn than Ryan.

Corndad 01-19-2009 01:11 AM

Man both great games today. Being a Lifelong Steelers Fan obviously pretty stoked about the outcomes.

Really happy for Arizona too. Really liked Wiz and Fitzgerald may just have changed my mind today that he is the best WR out there. Maybe it's because Andre Johnson has been done for a while but really really looking forward to the run up to this game. So many story lines.

Arizona's O vs Steeler's Def
Tomlin vs Wiz (the man who looked to be the favorite to get the Steeler's Job after Cowher left)
Alot of Ex Steelers on the Cardinals

Also personal note, went to same smaller college with one of the Starting Offensive Lineman for the Cards so glad he made it.

Should be a great game. I can't wait.

SammyG 01-19-2009 01:27 AM

I love you Kurt Warner

Shadow 01-19-2009 01:33 AM

MY BIRD BOWL!

On the plus side we now get a classic superbowl between two top teams. I cannot wait for Feb 1.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-19-2009 01:36 AM

Good thing Brian Westbrook showed up rushing the ball with 2.3 yards per-carry for the post-season...Sure this is gonna be McNabb's "fault" though

Evil Vito 01-19-2009 11:05 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I really can't wait till next year when the Pro Bowl is between the Championship game week and the Super Bowl...as meaningless as it might be, at least it'll give me football to watch in that week off. Hate it.</font>

I dunno, they threw all 4 downs during the key drive in the 4th where the could have come back to tie it. McNabb had 4 overthrows. I'd say it pretty much was his fault.

http://imgsrv.610wip.com/image/wip/U...agles-logo.jpg

McLegend 01-19-2009 11:56 AM

It is his fault, but at the same time it's not. So really hard.

He missed like 5 throws in the first half that would have drastically changed the game. Then was godlike in the 2nd half making plays that only he can make. Then he overthrows Desean Jackson across the middle on the final drive. Then the last play which should have been caught even though it was clear Pass Interference. Unlikily you are getting that call though. It still should have been caught.

Eagles defense couldn't stop Steven Hightower who couldn't convert short yardage downs all year, and the Eagles stopped both Jacobs and Ward who are both better then Hightower in basically the same situation last week. Then they couldn't bring Hightower down on the 2 which then would have forced them to kick a field goal.

I mostly blame the Defense, but McNabb left a lot of points on the field even though he also great at the same time. It's a tough call.

McLegend 01-19-2009 11:59 AM

I changed my mind.

McLegend 01-19-2009 12:22 PM

Cardinals Offensive Coordinator was brilliant too.

I don't think its that off base. Its pretty evident Jones is buying players to win a championship now. Daniel Snyder did it for years in Washington with the biggest FA on the market each year, and the Redskins have still been mediocre over that time span.

I can't see him leaving Baltimore. He has been the anchor of that defense for so long. He can still play at a high enough level that the Ravens should keep him.
