Did anyone else notice that they didn't censor when The Rock said "Go Heat, bitch" to Michael Cole in the video package from Raw? I find it especially odd since they censored it live. I don't get it.

Anybody Thrilla 05-07-2011 08:54 PM

This was a pretty good Smackdown, if anyone was paying attention.

VSG 05-07-2011 08:57 PM

If only Smackdown stopped airing 15-20 min of Raw each time, it will get even better. But ya, pretty good show :y:

XL 05-07-2011 09:02 PM

^ That.

Anybody Thrilla 05-07-2011 09:11 PM

Guys, The Rock only has ONE birthday a year. A little respect, please.

Anybody Thrilla 05-07-2011 09:12 PM

BTW, I'm actually interested in that Great Khali business. What the hell?

Raven Reaper 05-07-2011 09:19 PM

I'm a bit surprised Alicia Fox didn't looked scared shitless when Kharma was in the ring.. And tried to roundhouse kick her ass.. Nice try but BAMMMM!!! I noticed Alicia despite her lack of power and strength, she almost has the same height as Kharma and could easily take her one on one.

I think Jinder Mahal is going to have Khali "break up" with Ranjin Singh and form a heel tag team with Khali.

I was figuring along similar lines. I've only seen him twice for very brief periods, but I like what I've seen from Jinder thus far.

VSG 05-07-2011 09:36 PM

Checking out his videos on youtube right now, I like what I see so far. Of course it helps that I can understand what he is saying in Punjabi but then take a gander at his finisher:

<iframe width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tnnIZJ9LLec" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

At ~3:28. Not sure how to do the "Start at specific time" thing in the newer embed codes.

#1-norm-fan 05-07-2011 10:38 PM

Calling it now: Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali will be the next WWE World Tag Team champions.

Damian Rey 05-07-2011 10:42 PM

Interesting on Mahal. I wonder if they will have him spewing nonesense at the live crowds in Persian in an effort to draw heat. That finisher is great, but I can't see him pulling off a gutbuster on the main event portion of the roster. Gonna have to come up with something else. Knowing WWE, the Camel Clutch shall return.

GD 05-07-2011 10:49 PM

In Persian? :nono:

James Steele 05-07-2011 11:33 PM

Great episode of SmackDown!, but I hope they don't do the mood lighting for Sin Cara's matches for an extended period of time.

Yeah, what is the deal with that? How much do they need the guy to stand out? It feels like they're trying too hard, and honestly, it's sort of turning me off to the guy.

Anybody Thrilla 05-07-2011 11:36 PM

Also, I think I'm going to like the new Mark Henry.

XCaliber 05-07-2011 11:48 PM

Can't help but think that with the mugging on Ezekiel Jackson this was their way of setting him up to be released and just have him replaced with someone else.

Then why have him go over Big Show? Seems like they want to try another singles push for him...possibly as a face...just like they were doing for about ten minutes before he joined The Corre.

Evil Vito 05-08-2011 12:04 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I hope Skip Sheffield returns and takes Zeke's place as The Corre's muscle.</font>

When did he break his leg?

CSL 05-08-2011 12:35 AM

During the initial Nexus run around August-September, on a house show I believe

James Steele 05-08-2011 01:04 AM

The leg is probably healed, but I wonder how much atrophy his big ass had in that leg and what rehab he will do so he doesn't walk like he has a peg-leg.

Evil Vito 05-08-2011 01:25 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Yeah, he had broken his ankle, had a major surgery, was slated for a return around Mania, then had a setback and needed another surgery. Poor guy.</font>

James Steele 05-08-2011 01:40 AM

I didn't realize this entirely, but this is even funnier when you realize Christian got jobbed out in Orlando.

Graveler 05-08-2011 01:45 AM

Ah Skip Sheffield :( Talk about a bad time to get injured. Missed the entire Nexus run and everything

Mr. Nerfect 05-08-2011 02:24 AM

Yeah, Zeke is going to get a mammoth push as a face. Sin Cara and Zeke will be the "rising star" focus on SmackDown! for at least the near future. I also think they have big plans for Jinder Mahal, since it's quite rare to see someone get called up without being on NXT or something. I think the last two were Sin Cara and Alberto Del Rio? I haven't seen much of Mahal's work, but he seems well traveled, and I'm sorta interested in this Khali stuff. He seems to be trying to bring the monster back out of Khali. Whether that means they'll be partners or if they'll feud remains to be seen.

I also liked Chavo on commentary. He was being a cocky bastard, but at the same time, he showed a sporting attitude towards Sin Cara. I'm not hoping for anything more than him to be temporarily treated as someone special just so Sin Cara can defeat him, but as a Chavo mark I like the depth he's been getting with this and NXT.

I kind of want to see Daniel Bryan & Ezekiel Jackson find someone else, and team up to face The Corre.

The New Apple vs The [Renovated] Corre

Mr. Nerfect 05-08-2011 05:44 AM

Essentially, yes. Actually, a good third person for the group would be William Regal. The days of dreaming for an actual Regal push went out with 2008 and Regal's second wellness suspension, but with his interesting, face-ish role on NXT, him being drafted to SmackDown! and his past connections with Ezekiel Jackson and Daniel Bryan -- a Corre vs. Ezekiel Jackson, Daniel Bryan & William Regal match would be greatly appreciated by this viewer for Over the Limit.

And if Regal and Bryan bust out matching burgundy trunks, and Jackson sticks to his red ones -- Apple references will be all the more relevant. :shifty:

Mr. Nerfect 05-08-2011 05:47 AM

Also, just throwing this out there: If Christian does turn heel against Randy Orton, I'd absolutely love it if he started busting out his own RKO/Diamond Cutter-style move to get at Randy. If Matt Striker were on commentary, I'm sure he could link it to DDP's brief time as a student of DDP's.

yeah i would like them to put chavo on commentary when he retires. as long as he is not stuck like hector in the mexcan table.

Volare 05-08-2011 12:16 PM

That's a TNA thing sir.

so who is on the wwe mex table now, i rember the old days that was the table that got smashed.

DAMN iNATOR 05-08-2011 03:29 PM

Dunno why but I always enjoyed the record-scratch, slow version of Christian's "At Last" theme:

<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uryvnUuKDo4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Still has nothing on the Waterproof Blonde version of "Just Close Your Eyes" but it's a close 2nd in my book.

As far as I know it's still Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich. They don't introduce them at the start of PPV's anymore like they used to although I'd say it's a safe bet that they're still the Spanish commentary guys you hear on the S.A.P. channel.
