http://www.nfl.com/photos/0ap1000000...p2000000133190 Hell, the team has $141.6 million on the books and the salary cap isn't expected to go up that much from the current $120 million ceiling. Do the math mane. Good luck next season. I'm sure you'll do great. You've got your coach back after all  |
In all honesty, the Saints should be alright. That offense under Brees will still be one of the best in the NFL and they'll probably compete for a wild card.
|
Saints are .500 at best just lucky for them im not sure the bucs or panthers are much better overall
|
I seriously wonder how the Cowboys are going to avoid an epic clusterfuck of utter failure this year. $21 Million over the salary cap on top of all their problems they need to address (OL, DB, QB, GM, President, Owner).
|
Maybe Jerry Jones should play QB?

<font color=goldenrod>The Giants signed former Cowboys kicker David Buehler. Mainly insurance in case Tynes (an impending free agent) goes elsewhere.
Buehler was Dallas' kickoff specialist...so it stands to reason he's probably got a stronger leg than Tynes anyway.</font> |

Packers release Charles Woodson
Bills pick up Tavaris Jackson |
I kind of would like to see Woodson get picked up by the Cowboys, but he gets hurt a lot and I don't know if they could afford him.

I think the Ravens are probably one of the luckiest teams ever considering Flacco is not even in the top 10 in most QB categories in the regular season except tied for 8th with Sam Bradford and Ryan Tannehill being sacked 35 times, 10th in sacked yds lost (227), tied for 10th with Tom Brady in yds per completed pass (12.0), tied for 5th with Nick Foles and Peyton Manning in interception percentage (1.9%), 5th in game winning drives (4), and tied for 3rd with Sam Bradford, Andrew Luck, and Russell Wilson in comebacks (4). Probably the luckiest playoff run ever in my honest opinion.

Team of destiny!

more like a statistical anomaly like the O's were in baseball

Would love to see Woodson come here and replace Mathis. Woodson and Cox could be a good duo.

lol Titus Young

<font color=goldenrod>I don't even know what the Giants will be able to do. Currently they're projected at being around $7 million under the 2013 cap - but they'd like to re-sign Beatty and Bennett while also extending Cruz or Nicks. Gonna need to free up more space to even get that done.
Cutting Webster would save about $7 million off the 2013 cap, cutting Diehl would save around $5 million. Would seem like cutting both would be a no-brainer, but it hasn't happened yet. Making me think maybe the Giants want to keep both of them as long as they significantly restructure and take a pay cut.</font> |

ALso, Packers released Jeff Saturday so he can sign a one day contract and retire a Colt..

Ravens might give Flacco the "non-exclusive" franchise tag, which means other teams will have a swing at signing Joey Brows. GO KEIM GO. RUN.

Lol. He wins the Super Bowl and still nobody has enough faith in him to cash out.

Star Lotulelei might have to back out of this year's draft after recent medical tests red flagged him with a serious heart condition that was never discovered while in college.
Was being projected anywhere between #1 overall to #5 for this year's draft. Quote:

<font color=goldenrod>Reports are out suggesting that the 49ers have agreed to a trade to get Alex Smith out of SF. Kansas City is the likely landing spot.
If it happens, that will pretty much lock up Luke Joeckel as the #1 pick.</font> |
All the combine excitement is pouring out of Bill..

Brady and Patriots agree to a new 3-year contract extension worth $27 million.
Brady gets his goal of wanting to play until he's 40 (2017) and the Pats get their goal of freeing up more cap space ($21 million overall) for the next few years. Baring a serious injury, also ensures Ryan Mallet has a few more years to develop and to get his O line ready for when he takes over. |
Why would mallet stay in ne for 5 more years with little to no hope of bring the starting qb.
|
Same reasons Steve Young (4) and Aaron Rodgers (3) staid for years as backups to great QBs. Only difference is Mallet waiting a few more years but he's another 1-2 years away from even being starter worthy.
Rodgers might have waited even longer if Farve didn't kept teasing retirement. Matt Cassel was also 3 years but would have been longer if Brady didn't get hurt in 08. |
The Brady deal saved the ravens almost a million this year if they use the exclusive tag since it dropped Brady out of the top 5 qbs. If either of the mannings, brees, Stafford or roethisberger restructure it would save them more.
|
Brady is such a team player. Fucking love Brady.
|
I was wondering how the Tom Brady deal affected the Baltimore Ravens.
Now I know. |
Really hope the Falcons stay away from the free agent running backs this year. Jackson is intriguing, but I wonder about his age and Shonn Greene just doesn't do it for me. Plenty of breakout backs in the draft in my opinion.
|
Looks to be unofficially official, Smith to the Chiefs

Alex to the Chiefs seems like the best decision for all parties involved. Oddly, I'm going to miss him. I think he will do pretty solid under Andy Reid.
|
49ers will get the 2nd pick in the 2nd round for him, plus a conditional mid round pick in 2014.
|
Quote:
|
I think he will do well there. And Dwayne Bowe will have a big year.
|
The 49ers managed to have around 11-15 draft picks for this year from all the stock piling they've been doing recently.
|
Getting the first pick in the 2nd round for Smith is money for the 49ers. The beauty of the NFL draft is how deep it is and how first round talent goes beyond the first round sometimes, although the new rumor is that it puts the 9ers in prime position to put together a package for Revis or Harvin. Either way, they're in a damn good spot.

fuck the niners

The Chiefs give up too much for a QB who seemed better that he really is because of the system he's in. Did you learn nothing from Matt Cassel? :nono:

I'm retroactively shocked that they didn't pick up Tebow last year now.
|
They spent alot of money to replace Matt Castle with Matt Castle..

The New York Jets work out David Garrard. They also talk about bringing Brady Quinn into camp. I am confident that nobody cares about this.
|
Goodbye John Abraham, Dunta Robinson and Michael Turner. Saints are pretty desperate so I'm sure you'll find employment there.
|
Quote:
I just heard this on the radio on the way home from work.. You were talking all that shit about the Saints cap room, yet Brees, Vilma and Smith are about to restructure and guys like Colston, Grubbs, and Evans already have.. Our probowlers want to play here while the Falcons are hemorrhaging yr leading rusher, sacker, and tackler.. Falcons lose that after ONE playoff win, Saints didn't lose that kind of talent after the SperBowl win.. lol |
well yeah but Turner is dead and they can live without Robinson with Grimes back and Asante Samuel. Abraham tho
|
apparently Flacco will become the highest paid QB in history. Deal sorted etc
|
I think people are overrating Alex Smith. He's good, but is he on the top 15 in the NFL? He probably isn't.
|
Quote:
Even in 08 when he had 1700 yards he had 17 TD's but he carried the ball close to 150 times more.. |
They pretty much cut a third of his carries so his yards per season went down a third..
Similar TD total and similar yards per carry.. |
I agree. Michael Turner is a corpse.
|
3.6 ypc is a pretty big drop off no matter how many touches, plus throw in his huge contract, his age, Jacquizz Rogers and the "he's burnt out/done for" argument from the "experts", Falcons fans etc and that doesn't seem to equate to a guy that anybody should be too worried about releasing
|
He had 10 TD's.. You realize Adrian Peterson only had 12 right??
And he had 130 more regular season touches.. |
3.6ypc
Turner is still a big fucker with even bigger legs, I'm sure he can still pile over the line from a few yards out |
$120.6m, 6yrs for Flacco, biggest contract ever

Oh and his cap # for 2013 will probably only be $7 million.
|
And pointed out that flacco will only be the highest paid player until Aaron Rodgers re-ups his contact, since you know he'll get paid more for his sexier stats even though flacco has 2 more wins, more playoff wins and same number of super bowls. re
|
And Flacco will probably restructure the contract in a year or two anyway.
|
Probably by year 5 when he has as many rings as a newly retired tom Brady.
