Dolph Ziggler has huge steam going for him with AJ and Big E joining him, which I thought was gonna lead to an imminent World Title run where heel retains title due to his "posse" most of the time.

Instead, he is being jobbed out, and the trio which had so much heat behind them at one point, are essentially Team Rocket and at the end of each episode they go blasting off again.

Don't know. I might rather like being called a faggot than a John Cena fan.

James Steele 02-26-2013 03:39 AM

I like John Cena just fine, but Rock/Cena II is about as predictable as Brock Lesnar/Hardcore Holly from Royal Rumble 2004. The match itself could be good, but going off of last year my hopes aren't high.

Bad News Gertner 02-26-2013 07:35 PM

So was every HHH match from 2001-2004 yet you jizz all over his horribly over-rated ass.

#1-norm-fan 02-26-2013 10:34 PM

Don't forget both HHH-Taker matches.

James Steele 02-27-2013 12:18 AM

The matches were so good you forgot that you were a smark. I thought Punk had a chance to win, and the way the match went I completely went into mark-mode. Just like HBK/Taker and HHH/Taker sucked you in and made you forget how much of an apathetic smark you are.

Rock/Cena wasn't all that good of a match and the finish is obvious this year and I don't think the match will be good enough to make me forget that. I hope I'm wrong and they steal the show, but I seriously doubt it.

Feels like I'm the only person in the world who didn't care for the HHH/Taker Wrestlemania match.

After it was over I felt like it just made Undertaker look weak despite him winning, and the whole thing just seemed like HHH riding Shawn's coattails again.

Wade Barrett is the Intercontinental Champion. Why is he a freaking jobber?

Seriously can't think of the last time he has won. Since before Royal Rumble probably.

Tazz Dan 03-10-2013 01:32 AM

He did get his revenge on Bo Dallas didn't he?

"February 11, 2013 – RAW: WWE Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match."

Ok, so maybe not so long since his last win. Just feels like ages.

CSL 03-10-2013 01:48 AM

March 5th 2013 - Dead Man Down - Colin Farrell defeated WWE Intercontinental champion Wade Barrett via something particularly gruesome and cool but not quite gruesome and cool enough to be used on the main bad guy in the film because he's just one of the henchman in a non-title match

XL 03-10-2013 06:40 AM

Randy Orton, Big Show and Sheamus are 3 boring B list "maineventers".

Bad News Gertner 03-13-2013 06:44 AM

Big Show is the goods and Orton is the second most over in the company.

drave 03-14-2013 03:26 PM

Orton needs to go back to the Legend Killer gimmick or something close to it. Face Orton is boring as fuck. Technically, he is no different than Cena with the 5 moves of doom:

1) Start convulsing like he thinks he is a real viper
2) Punch, Punch, Punch
3) Irish whip, powerslam (which looks great)
4) 2nd rope spiked DDT
5) RKO

XL 03-14-2013 06:23 PM

You forgot that weird backbreaker he does.

Corporate CockSnogger 03-14-2013 06:54 PM

Pretty much every wrestler only has about 5 moves in TV matches. They expand their movesets on PPV all the time.

Corporate CockSnogger 03-14-2013 06:55 PM

Chris Benoit who is apparently one of the best technical wrestlers ever had 5 moves and 3 of them were a knife edge chop.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2013 09:17 PM

I'm still holding hope that the predictable finish to Cena/Rock with Cena beating Rock and the two having a tender moment in the ring together happens, but then The Shield attack both guys, lay them out and have their "WrestleMania moment." Best way to end the show and create a Shield buzz.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2013 09:18 PM

Oh, and Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Big Show at Extreme Rules once they all fall apart and want to kill each other.

#1-norm-fan 03-16-2013 10:15 PM

The Shield attacking Rock and Cena is certainly not the best way to end a WrestleMania.

Mr. Nerfect 03-17-2013 08:52 PM

Fuck you, yes it would be. Believe in The Shield.

Mr. Nerfect 03-17-2013 09:01 PM

I would, however, also accept Brock Lesnar beating Triple H and Paul Heyman getting control of the WWE. On RAW, Heyman announces that John Cena & The Rock will team up at Extreme Rules to face CM Punk & Brock Lesnar. The Shield can attack Hall of Fame inductee Mick Foley backstage and continue Ambrose's gripes with Foley from last year. Team Hell No & Mick Foley vs. The Shield at Extreme Rules could be worked around Foley's limitations.

I believe The Shield closing WrestleMania in any way, shape or form would be WWE's way of saying "fuck WrestleMania".

It sounds like a way you might end a Hell in a Cell PPV to build to a Survivor Series match the next month. Not a way you end the big one.

James Steele 03-18-2013 01:09 AM

Yeah, because the most over, established heel in the company winning the main event and one of the most shocking heel turns of all time is right on par with Shield attack #376.

James Steele 03-18-2013 02:22 AM

Well... it kinda has to happen since both are babyfaces.

But yes. You build a match and you have it culminate at WrestleMania. Usually the best culmination is the face walking away with the win. Just like movies usually end with the good guy winning. There's a reason for that.

I can't believe I'm actually having to defend why Wrestle fucking Mania ending with a Shield attack is a ridiculous idea right now...

Lock Jaw 03-18-2013 02:58 AM

Only way I'd enjoy it would be if it happened only after the match was finished, and someone big was joining them. Then it would be good. Setting the scene for the new Post-Mania "season" of WWE.

You're allowed to not like, but "ridiculous?" As Lock Jaw said, it'd set up the "post-WrestleMania" season of WWE so very nicely. You have a dominant faction (possibly undefeated) causing havoc wherever they go, and they have even desecrated the WrestleMania main event. It gives Cena and Rock goals and obstacles coming out of the show. It gets your average fan pissed off at them -- "I can't wait until The Rock and John Cena kick those sorry guys's asses! How dare they?! I was going to boo The Rock and John Cena hugging, because it's a little gay, but now I'm really pissed off and want to see them join forces!"

You don't even have to close it on The Shield. You can have a select portion of the babyface roster (even including hometown hero, Zack Ryder) running down to the ring and chasing The Shield off through the crowd -- perhaps with Ambrose even taking the WWE Title with him.

XL 03-23-2013 10:04 AM

I find it incredibly annoying that SmackDown features so many replays of what happened on Raw. Can't get my head around the fact they use time on the shorter show that fewer people watch to recap what happened on the longer show that more people watch. If you're watching SmackDown you've probably watched Raw and therefore do not need reminding what happened 4 days previously. On the other hand, they might benefit from replaying what happened on SmackDown non Raw, as fewer people saw what happened on the blue brand.

The time on SmackDown should/could be used to feature guys that don't appear all that regularly or to help develop character/promo ability of the guys that do.

Seems WWE waste a huge chunk of the 5 hours of major TV time they have.

Mr. Nerfect 03-23-2013 11:09 AM

I am in full support of the WWE bringing back the brand split in its full glory. SmackDown could be used to support guys that have cooled or are being built up. New talent could get their feet wet there in preparation for RAW. The stories told on each show could be so unique. Enough time has passed with RAW as a "Supershow" that I feel it would almost be fresh and exciting if you had to tune in to SmackDown to see certain Superstars.

Tazz Dan 07-17-2013 05:33 AM

I fucking hate how WWE call every MiTB winner 'Mr. Money In The Bank' now. That was RVD's tagline when he won. Seriously grinds my gears.

James Steele 07-17-2013 05:34 AM

Tazz Dan 07-17-2013 05:46 AM

No. No it's not.

Road Warrior 07-17-2013 06:17 AM

The Cody Rhodes face turn is idiotic. The whole idea, from what I gather, is he's upset that in a match where it's everyone for themselves his partner shoved him off the ladder so that he (Sandow) could win the match ? This type of angle really only works to turn someone heel after they become jealous, not the other way around. Cody isn't over enough for the fans to care he got screwed. I assume they really only did this to propel Sandow to upper mid card/ ME status anyway, but it's still stupid.

James Steele 07-17-2013 06:42 AM

I think it is the manner in which Sandow turned on Rhodes. You can compete in the same contest with your brother for the same prize, but that doesn't mean you have to break every bone in his body.

Look at it this way, say you and your best friend went to some laser tag or paintball competition and it was every man for themselves and you went around eliminating everyone else but your best friend decided to hide away somewhere, then right at the end when nobody was around due to elimination, your best friend appears from his hiding place and shoots you from behind, thus eliminating you and becoming the winner.

You would probably be pretty pissed off with him.

Cool King 07-17-2013 11:10 AM

Also, in my opinion, Cody is over with the fans, especially after MITB. The crowd was behind Cody during the MITB match, despite being a heel at that time. What Sandow did to Cody gave the crowd a reason to hate Sandow more and feel sorry for Cody. Not only because Sandow screwed his best friend, but also because he screwed over the guy that the crowd were behind. The crowd wanted Cody to win and he nearly did win but Sandow put a stop to it and won the match himself and didn't even show any signs of remorse.

The next night on Raw pretty much cemented Cody's role as a face. He ran out and attacked Sandow for what he did to him the previous night, and the crowd loved it and you could hear that they were firmly behind him. Add in the fact that Sandow did the classic cowardly running away thing, and it gave the crowd more reason to get behind Cody.

Lock Jaw 07-17-2013 11:49 AM

I really hope Sandow doesn't become a World Champion. The dude is just too much of a "gimmick" (and not in a good way) for me to take seriously.

Innovator 07-17-2013 11:53 AM

The crowd has been begging to have a reason to back Cody for a long time, since Legacy. He's more complete now than he was then, with his run under the mask building him up as an overall package.

James Steele 07-17-2013 11:59 AM

I'm hoping somehow they have Cody "outsmart" Sandow and trick him into putting the MITB contract on the line and winning it at SummerSlam. I know it cheapens MITB, but it is already watered down to the point where this would be more interesting than the normal use of the briefcase.

James Steele 07-17-2013 12:00 PM

They could easily stretch Rhodes/Sandow to Survivor Series. Have the blowoff for the briefcase at Survivor Series.

Tommy Gunn 07-17-2013 12:49 PM

I kinda see what you're saying. The guy is stellar. One of the best overall performers in the company. But he comes off as one of those guys that are great to watch but don't really fit as a guy at the top.

Luckily for him the WHC hasn't signified being at the top for a long time so he's good to go.
