Martian I'd Like To Friend
Has Solomon Grundy made an appearance here yet? Maybe we're all over thinking things.
Maybe Man Bat? Or MAYBE J'onn is going to punk them all and shapshift :) |
Grundy showed up as part of Lex's Legion of Delinquents.
My money's on it being Swamp Thing that they run into, assuming they meet anyone at all. |
Nowhere Man is correct about Grundy appearing before. He was the big albino with the X on his shirt.
I, too, can see J'onn shapeshifting like Krim said, but it being something innocent and unintentional... like sleepwalking (sleepshifting?). He might have a dream about all that research him and dad are doing and ends up being what the others see. Remember, he didn't just phase through the locker he was stuffed into. He might not know he can do any of that yet. |
I was having a bad day until I read that. <3 Bruce.
Batman doesn't take no for an answer.
He does not take no for a goddamn answer, you mean.
Goshdarn Answer.
He's only 8 after all. |
Good point.
Dammit, Shadow beat me to it!
I should've trademarked "The Goshdarn Batman". |
Here's hoping that while Hal and Barry are out looking for Bigfoot they run into The Question.
I didn't think I could love this comic anymore but then they dropped in a Plymouth.
Dat 440. |
According to Wade, it's a '61 Cuda. (Yes, I know it's still a Plymouth, but he got more specific.)
71. The Barracuda started in 64 and were restyled to look like that in 70. My Dad used to have one of the 70 AAR's. Beautiful cars.

Nerds

Tune in tomorrow for the thrilling conclusion...
Same Bat-time! Same Bat-channel! |
I can't take the suspense!
Friendzone lvl. 52

Fantastic
Amazing stuff!
He didn't exactly give her much of a choice though.
We already went over the fact that the goshdarn Batman doesn't take no for an answer.
Totally gonna make that shirt
Calling cafépress....
It was the bigfoot, barry!
Wonder if there was a particular drum session in Yale's head, and if so, what it was.
God, I love Barry. He's the essence of this comic strip.
Dude, is that Guy, John, and Kyle?! Awesome!
I was thinking Sinestro instead of Kyle.
Dude does seem to have a bit of a "widow's peak" going on with his hair....
Don't know why Kyle wouldn't be there, though. |
Any chance "Bigfoot" is Kilowog?
Jesus, Yale tickles the hell out of me. Guy, Jon, and Sinestro???
Wow... Has Yale mentioned the possibility of a hardcover set yet?
Pretty sure he couldn't do that unless his stuff is bought and licensed by DC Comics
GL Corps get hype!

Kyle's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to young for this.
Only reason I'm not going with Sinestro is because thus far everyone has been the right skin color, and that kid isn't pink. Also, leaving Kyle out would be a Dick move.
Yeah but Kyle would be like a kindergärtner at this point. Totally gonna go with Sinestro even though he's not pink. He's got the right hair style for this.
I'm thinking Sinestro, too. It would be better story-wise, and Yale has been careful with certain character age groups. It's why he never debuted Robin; he'd not been born yet or at least be a baby - and that's if you're going with Grayson.
Kyle similarly comes from that 'middle' generation, who would all be babies right now. The youth generation are out of the question. Of course, in the Yale Universe he could subvert and remix as he wishes, but surely there's a reason he stuck to the adult DC generation. |
Quote:
Might still be Sinestro. Even though he isn't pink for this shot, there might be something a few strips from now where he gets sunburnt and that becomes the gag. |
Yeah I noticed Yale gave him glasses most likely referencing that awesome episode.
ALAN SCOTT
THIS IS AMAZING
Yep, definitely throwing my chips behind "sunburn" now.
Always thought that the name Sinestro was a bit "on the nose" for an evil villain.
With a name like that, it is like he had no choice in career paths. |
This should be interesting.
Okay, so I was wrong about it being Kyle. Still, I'm digging this.

Saw this on tumblr earlier. Love the fact that Bizzaro is wearing briefs Quailman style!
Love it.
Goosebumps material right there..
Reader Beware
I just wet my pants. That may be my favorite non Bruce/Clark moment yet.
Yale is amazing.
I dont believe I didn't notice the GL Corps icon on their scout uniforms instead of the rank patch.
I love this webcomic.
Gonna get that ollie/hal print

- OMG - Also lol at Ryan Reynalds reference. - Sinestro's a dick. |
NICE
Love the Blackest Night reference. |
"Raise your hands like this, fellas."
... so I found myself doing exactly that and revisiting my childhood before I finished the comic. On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the scout law; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. ^_^ |
And hate gay people.
"j/k"
I like you. |
Pretty sure a couple of kids in my troop grew up to be enormous homos. None of us really cared, though, it was all fun and absolutely none of us were affiliated with the Mormon church... or any church really. Troop #18 was kinda the Bad News Bears of the Greater Western Reserve Council area. We looked like bums and would win all the camp jamboree competitions.
Sounds like a summer comedy underdog thing. You should write it.
We just had this:
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country, To help other people and To obey the Scout/Guide Law |
Shit. I omitted "to help other people at all times".
No fair yours was abridged. That would have been way easier to remember. |
Ya, that's the Indian version. I went all the way to President's Scout which is the highest there.
I honestly didn't get all that far. I technically made it to First Class, but I never got my patch. Or my merit badges. We never had the ceremony.
Our troop kinda disbanded after it was learned our scoutmaster "scandalously" (read: we didn't give a shit, but the adults at the rec center we were at did) had been using our troop funds as a personal payday loan... he would pay it back whenever he did this, but it was the fact that he was doing it to begin with got him fired and banned from the building. So then, the new replacement leadership that stepped in suddenly told us we "weren't ready" for any sort of campouts or events that we were already enrolled in and that were already paid for- as in, the embezlement was a non-issue, but the new guy just didn't want to be bothered taking us. Hell, a couple of the campouts were FREE, pre-planed on OUR part, and we already had built the damn site OUT BACK where we held our own campouts. All the new SM had to do was supervise, and he didn't even want to do that. So, we just kinda gave a collective "fuck you", and attendance dropped substantially over the next few weeks. The troop folded about a month after that. Doubt I would have made it anywhere near Eagle Scout, though. That was just too much "schoolwork" outside of school than I was ready to commit to. |
After two years in Boy Scouts, I was still a Tenderfoot. I just wasn't into it.
I lasted for like 4 months, when I completed like 6 badges and they ended up giving them to this other kid because his name was also David and I got the one worthless badge he had earned that's when I knew I didn't want to do it anymore, especially when I told them and none of the scout leaders gave me more than meh for an answer.
On the plus side, I still have my neckerchief. I use it occasionally to tie back my dreads.
"Be prepared" indeed. |
I was looking through one of my dresser drawers at my parents and my Cub Scout manual was still in there along with a bunch of other papers/books I had when growing up, it was like my own personal time capsule.
Brawl, David as a scout should have gotten all the badges in the world just for that name.
I know, right?
Alan had an interesting reaction. This may be a character reveal after all.
Ya, but may also be Sinestro using his ring to make a Bigfoot if all they got is 100 yards. I also like how little Batman is a stickler for rules- how things change!
I feel bad for lil' J'onn there. He really wanted to help out.
I immediately thought of the sad walk from Arrested Development.
Hmmmm....
The light from flashlight is probably YELLOW Could that come into play later? Hmmmmm........ |
Good point.
To be a GL you must be fearless. Perhaps a situation will come where they won't be able to use the light. Enter flashlight.
