I think the antagonist is the green ranger...

Kalyx triaD 02-21-2017 04:49 PM

Right now an ex-green ranger.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-21-2017 09:21 PM

Who killed all of the first team cause Zordon said no to her fucking the Red Ranger who turned into Zedd.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-21-2017 09:22 PM

Where's Rito? He was my favorite with Golddar. Rip guy who voiced Rito.

Kalyx triaD 02-22-2017 03:38 PM

Rito was fun. The 'red neck-ish brother' thing was kind of random but it's PR.

Destor 03-24-2017 12:03 PM

Needing word of mouth on this guys. Anyone going to go see it?

Simple Fan 03-24-2017 12:14 PM

I'll be going to see it either tonight or Tuesday but I know you don't care for my opinion so you'll have to wait for someone else to see it.

Destor 03-24-2017 12:23 PM

You opinion will be increadibly useful IMO

Rammsteinmad 03-24-2017 01:48 PM

I'm gonna see it.

In about a weeks time. Maybe two. :shifty:

Frank Drebin 03-24-2017 01:51 PM

I hear there's a graphic sex scene between Rita and Bulk while Skull films it.

Destor 03-24-2017 02:04 PM

Im down

Simple Fan 03-24-2017 03:56 PM

Well I'm not real sure about it as well, as I haven't been a fan of a lot of the things like the suits or the powers without them. The trailers have done their job though and I'm curious to see it. Hopefully they do it justice and make me feel like a kid again.

Black Widow 03-24-2017 07:39 PM

Great! Billy,Jason and Kimberly were standouts.I don't need oscar worthy for something called Power Rangers, I just needed this to be fun with solid casting for the rangers and it was.

Simple Fan 03-24-2017 09:41 PM

Yeah was pretty good. Got a little long in the middle but really built up the bond the Rangers have with each other. Nice movie to start the franchise and I'm interested to see what they do next now that they are established. There is a mid credit scene as well.

Simple Fan 03-24-2017 10:59 PM

Hah, I thought that Jason's dad was the actor that played the original red ranger but it wasn't . The two do look similar though

Nope, it was the dude from the Office.

Saw most of it but had to duck out for a bit to the bathroom when the first found the Power Chamber.

Pretty good.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-25-2017 02:51 AM

Reviews are not as bad as expected. A good number of them are. Rotten Rating is at 46.

Destor 03-25-2017 09:39 AM

I expected it to be objectively bad. I think that was a given. The question before the court is does it deliver to its niche audience.

Never watched The Office so I didn't know who he was. Wasn't really sure who the original red rangers was either so I just thought that was him playing Jason's dad until I googled it afterwards.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-25-2017 06:26 PM

Well, that is something you should probably watch. I know it was on Thursdays. It's probably the reason I never got into Impact besides everything else about it.

I think hardcore fans will actually be pissed. They seemed to try to grasp a larger audience and they did very good with the teenagers with attitude having an attitude.

This isn't a ranger team that is upset a bake sale isn't going well.

Simple Fan 03-25-2017 08:34 PM

Thought their was a good mix of nostalgia while also creating something new. I really think it was made for fans of the original series that lost interest as they got older. Wasn't afraid to poke fun at what is ridiculous about the power rangers but at the same time making it make sense in this world.

Heisenberg 03-26-2017 10:47 PM

Elizabeth Banks surprised the fuck out of me, the whole movie was good from start to end. Thought the dark blue hue of the film would put me to sleep, but it didn't. Angel Grove lives again

It was built for fathers like me who wanted to make their 9 year old son forget the Samurai Rangers and that damn Decker(sp?) who cut a promo on his roommate and continued to slice him up with a samarai fucking blade.

This also was the day I dressed up as a middle-aged white guy dad. Very funny interactions out on the town. Almost got invited to golf? We'll get there, bought a whole golf club set w/bag for 10 dollars last week so we will see how it goes

Destor 03-26-2017 11:00 PM

Very compelling Hburg. Nearly got me sold. Can you,, without spoilers, give me a critique of the film?

Word of mouth has been favorable among the niche.

To start off, this movie was a reboot of a franchise that felt "current" and "not cheesy" given the circumstances of it being "Angel Grove" which we never got to see that much outside of the Community Center(back in the 90s show) or w/e the piss they hung out at. When I decided to go yesterday I just had brunch with my little brother with whom I watched Power Rangers with back in the early 90s. We gobbled that shit up, it was the show that came on afterschool and would entertain us while we waited for either my mom and stepdad to get off work or if we were at my dad's house(which was basically a crumbling house-shack that him and his friends did drugs like coke and heroin at) it would be our babysitter. Anyways, when he confirmed how badass the film was I chose to take my 9 year old son with me to show him my favorite group of the whole PR universe, the ones who started it all in America, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The first 10 minutes are fast-paced and gives you what you need to be hooked. If you don't like stories that center around team cohesion and the difficulties that come with it all then it probably won't work for you. The casting was great all around, not just the teenagers picked to be the Rangers, but the supporting cast that is stacked with familiar faces of current Hollywood.

I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that basically if you loved the original MMPR, then you'll enjoy and accept the hell out of the current and future of this franchise. The film was suited for adults and kids. That is very hard imo to do today in our culture.

Rammsteinmad 03-27-2017 11:07 AM

Cool little write-up. Pretty much every review I've read has some kind of version of "fans of the original will enjoy this". I can't wait!

Destor 03-27-2017 11:40 AM

I think im sold

Heisenberg 03-27-2017 02:31 PM

Without spoiling anything, they made Zordon and Rita way more interesting than some guy on a screen and the typical "evil" person. Alpha got a super upgrade as well that again caters to kids and adults alike

Maluco 03-27-2017 06:00 PM

Marked out so many times watching this.

Kalyx triaD 03-27-2017 09:50 PM

Full review later but yeah the quality here is shocking.

Heisenberg 03-28-2017 09:17 AM

Another non-spoiler to caveat up above to help you all move to the theater: It caters to wrestling fans
