Check out the April 5 NXT Bollywood Boys have a good showing against Heavy Machinery. Fun match.

Probably more due to the set of guests but Talking Smack wasn't that entertaining this week.

Someone needs to be e-arrested.

I actually don't mind Jinder getting a title shot at all. Orton's still primarily focused on Bray, and after that it's only 3 weeks to Backlash. I don't think they'd want to rush a Corbin or Harper program, especially when Owens/Styles and Nakamura/Ziggler matches on the same PPV will clearly get more attention than the WWE Title match.
So you give Jinder a chance to work with a main eventer for a few weeks and see how it goes before moving to your big summer title program. |

I must say, I do worry for WWE putting Jinder and Orton in the main event of a show at the All-State Arena... that's really... eh... odd. I mean you wouldn't put that on in MSG would you? All-State is the next best thing to MSG. Odd choice. I could see this match actually not closing the show but I don't agree with that if it's the case. Also worried because the night before we have a Takeover and it looks like it's Itami and Roode.... and that's just not a quality main event for All-State either. Odd choices. |
Fire.

Saw Jinder won and decided to save 2 hours by not watching Smackdown.

I DVR'd this.... good enough to watch?

I think so. The three main matches were all good.

So, either WWE is really digging for that India market or, once again, Steroids=push.

Maybe he uses Cell Tech

In Jinder's defense, I don't think he's any more roided out/muscularly larger than he was when he was in 3MB.
He looks the way he does now because he's dropped from about 12-15% body fat to about 6-8%, which are the type of numbers you'd expect to see from an in-season competitive bodybuilder. It's absolutely unsustainable for any long amount of time and it's probably wrecking his kidneys. |
Kidney's are temporary, glory lasts forever.

He already BROKE IT when referring to Dash's jaw.
But yeah, depends on Itamis rust. I always thought him and Finn came in at just the wrong time as they were converted to the WWE style which they've been doing less and less of recently. I hope they just let him go out and be KENTA again. |
Jinder Mahal getting world title shots via number #1 contenders matches involving Mojo Rawley and Erick Rowan while Breezango aren't even on the show. Shame.

He was still pretty good, don't get me wrong, but he was a machine before the injuries.

Jinder in the main event is odd but I like it better than Mojo,
Eric Rowan, Ziggler, or Harper. Bringing up the Bollywood Boys to be his goons is a good move. Really just adds another jobber team to Smackdown but The Colons look like they've give up selling time shares and are serious now. I wouldn't be opposed to Jinder winning the title if it meant Rusev is going to return as a face and destroy him. Feels like some ROH booking with a short term challenger but we'll see and I hope it works out. Kind of crazy how 3MB breaks up and Drew becomes ripped and wins championships around the world and now Jacked Jinder is back going for the WWE World Championship. Slater still stuck in the comedy gimmick but it fits him better than the other two. Now my only hope is that some of that rubs off on Heath's Social Outcast partners and Axel and Bo get a push. |
You can't just have someone being a massive jobber for years, suddenly winning a very important match at the top of the card.
It's another symptom of network land I'm afraid. No need to sell people the PPV, so throw anyone in there, little to no build, as long as they are subbing. Network is too good a deal for the company's own good |

Steroids=Push, on the other hand... |
I want to see more of this Bollywood trio they have and I'm not against Jinder getting a push I just wish he hadn't been a joke in prior weeks with all the Gronk stuff. Had he won the ATGBR he'd have a bit more credibility to him instead of just needing help to win matches. Should bring back Kahli to manage the group.
|
Who is in this trio?
|
Mahal and The Bollywood Boyz. They are the ones who helped Hinder win the match.

I know, I keed, but for the die hard 3MB fans this is heaven right now with Drew in NXT and Jinder on SD! receiving pushes. It's only a matter of time before Heath Slater is given a run of his own. 3 Man Brand could turn out to be quite deadly if booked right. Have the stable appear throughout all 3 shows tearing people apart and collecting gold. |
Jinder's post-match promo was awesome given the circumstances of his jobber past. He can go in the ring and on the mic.
|
Jinder is way more interesting to me than Luke Harper, whom every1 seems to "cream themselves" over
Has v good heel mic skills imo |

This Jinder push is reminiscent of Bradshaw's gimmick switch/immediate push in the Main Event.
Why have him job on his way out of Raw if they planned this (or maybe they didn't plan it?) or was this the Raw writers fucking with the SDL team (didn't virtually all of the Raw talent going to SDL job?). |
I thought Jinder beat Rusev on his way out?
But didn't everyone who switched do the Job? Miz, Alexa, Heath/Rhyno. |
LOL @ This thread
|
lol Kevin Owens and Jinder Mahal randomly starting an anti-American gimmick on the same night. Weird.
|
• As you all may know by now, I'm quite the fan of Jinder Mahal and his win came as a surprise but it was an excellent surprise. I was so happy when he won and I just really hope nothing screws this up like has happened before with the pushes of guys I really like. (Swagger and his weed spring to mind)
I think Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion would be great and thinking about it just makes me think of JBL from 2004 when he went from Bradshaw: The guy who we never thought would ever be WWE Champion, to JBL: One of the best heel WWE Champions in a long time. Now, I'm not saying that Jinder is going to become a future Hall of Famer in the next four weeks but this is a good opportunity to make a memorable and legitimate heel out of Mahal like JBL was and not like the forgettable heel R-Truth during Truth's feud with Cena in 2011. Mahal's promo after the match was great too and I'm really intrigued to see where this "Number One Contender Mahal" goes now. • So Mahal is number one contender and Primo & Epico have dropped "The Shining Stars" and are using their own names and are winning matches and looking good doing it. Have I died and gone to heaven? To me, this is fantastic and what I've been wanting for so long now. Much like Mahal, I really hope nothing screws up Primo & Epico. • Seeing the Tye Dillinger vignette and listening to his theme as it played just made me think that Curtis Axel must be really pissed as Tye's gimmick would be (excuse the unintended pun) perfect for him as being the son of Mr. Perfect and all. I said it as a joke last week that Tye was just "Mr. Perfect 2K17" but he really is if you think about it and it's the gimmick that would be "common sense" to give to Axel as he really should be "Mr. Perfect 2K17" but he's not. He's just a jobber who hasn't really done anything noteworthy in well over a year, which is such a shame. • Good show this week and I think SmackDown will and is doing what I said it would do last week, in that it can continue on with the trend of being the superior show and make magic out of the lesser hand they were dealt from the "Superstar Shakeup". |
Mahal going from jobber to main eventer in one night is extremely stupid. If they are serious about him, why not start small with a winning streak and eventually IC title reign. This just isn't believable at all.
I am turning on Smackdown and seeing Primo and Epico, Mojo Rawley and Jinder Mahal in key matches and segments. The ONLY one with any kind of momentum is Rawley, and it certainly isn't main event momentum. It's all happened too fast and it makes everyone's favourite brand look like jobber central to the casual viewer. Jinder got destroyed by the likes of Roman, Big Show etc...On Raw, one jump to Smackdown and he is in the main event first time of asking. Sorry, but it makes Smackdown look like jobber central. |

Watching Smackdown now as it airs in Canada.......
Charlotte looking v attractive yesterday........ always looks good in black so I am glad she now has some black ring gear...... |
A non-title match? Well, the champion obviously losing......
|
Oh, ok..... instead of happening right now they are going to come back out later.......
|
"lol" at Jinder Mahal being in this six pack match.
Mojo Rawley also "bad" |
Harper or Zayn winning this one..... prob Harper.....
|
Feel like they should have at least had a "moment" between Harper/Rowan...... but they just go right at it.......
|
JBL: "Look out Rick Grimes, we got us a flying zombie!" @ Luke Harper doing a suicide dive
How does that statement even make sense. More like him just being "I know pop culture! I'm hip!" |
"lol" at Jinder going to pull out Harper from the ring early, going back to being dead, and then pulling him out at the right time to do the ringstep spot.
|
WTF at Jinder winning
|
Were those the Bollywood Boyz..... they are pretty bad too..... Hopefully the three of them together can turn this around.......
Jinder Mahal #1 contender..... wow...... outta nowhere...... |
Jinder pulling the wealthy foreigner card.....
|
Screw it. Give Jinder Mahal the title and have him, with the help of the Bollywood Boyz, always sneak out a win. Give him a JBL-like outta nowhere title push and reign.
I'm all in now. |
Can Jinder's veins squeeze the life out of a viper
|
You may walk into the house of whores a boy but you will leave a man
|
The Artist Known as Shinsuke Nakamura..........
Second week in a row they have called him this...... |
Naomi grabbing herself Charlotte's booby..... nice......
|
Whoa, the champion lost the non-title match
Could never have seen this coming Totally blindsided |
Enjoyed that match, though....... think Naomi has "upped her game" recently.....
Will look forward to seeing it happen again next week..... |
Think that next week Nattie, Carmella, and Tamina will run in and ruin the title match.....
|
Charlotte face turn definitely on the way....... in my opinion......
|
Primo/Epico need new gear if they aren't going to be called "The Shining Stars" anymore.....
|
Jason Jordan dropping the straps and going "crazy" to zero reaction
|
Primo/Epico with the "slowed down" heel remix theme....... except they were already heels.....
|
Weird how Jinder Mahal and Aariyah Daivari would both add "wealthy" to their "evil foreigner" gimmicks on the same night......
|
Lanalina coming soon..... in 12 more weeks.....
|

Decided to make a list of currently active members of the Smackdown roster who I would rather see in a main event world title match instead of Jinder Mahal:
AJ Styles Fandango Shinsuke Nakamura Luke Harper Big E Kevin Owens Dolph Ziggler The Demon Kane Tyler Breeze Sami Zayn Chad Gable Jason Jordan Tye Dillinger Aiden English Primo Colón Jimmy Uso Xavier Woods Becky Lynch Konnor from The Ascension Erick Rowan The Road Dogg Jey Uso Epico Colón Viktor from The Ascension Baron Corbin Sin Cara |
You forgot Ellsworth.
|
If Ellsworth gets on the juice he can go in above Corbin.
|
I'll let him know. I mean it worked for Jinder.
|
Ellsworth was way over before his main event run. If only he had that grotesque veiny physique, he could have been the next big crossover star.

Fuck y'all who are shitting all over Mahal's push.
This is the freshest thing that's happened in such a long time. After having Raw be "The Triple H & Stephanie Show" for three years and having the show revolve around The Authority and whoever they were feuding with while SmackDown was being "Raw-lite" and a recap show for Raw, Mahal being number one contender is really refreshing. There's been complaints in the past about how nothing really changes and how we're always treated to Reigns always looking good and another Orton title reign and there's even still complaints about Cena, but when a new face is entered into the title scene, these people that complain about the lack of change, complain about the change. The same thing happened when Jack Swagger became World Heavyweight Champion. I think what's going on on SmackDown is great and refreshing. We have Mahal being number one contender, AJ Styles chasing the US title and I think he can do for the US title, what Miz did for the Intercontinental title and we also have something that the IWC has wanted for a long time, Primo & Epico to be a legitimate tag team and not some gimmick for "the kids". They're The Colóns now. This is something I've been reading on so many wishlists online for years now and it's finally happened. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Carlito did return and people bitched about that even though that's on the wishlist of some people too. SmackDown is looking good right now and quite interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens from now until Backlash. Mahal has only been number one contender for three days now and there's people that are already ridiculing the decision or acting like it's the worst thing that has ever happened. Mahal being number one contender could only last up until Backlash if he loses. After that, we could get a new number one contender, which would most likely be someone we've seen in the title scene before and I'm sure there would be complains about that, but it's only four weeks at the least that people who don't like the decision have to "put up" with Mahal. Y'all managed to "put up" with Cena when pretty much everyone didn't like decisions surrounding him and y'all are still standing. Four weeks is nothing. However, if Mahal does win at Backlash and his push continues, I'm going to be very interested to see how opinions to Mahal change from now until his push ends but again, that's only if he wins at Backlash, which I really hope he does. |
I don't know where I've picked up this habit of saying "y'all" from.
|
Orton/Jinder is, at best, the third most important feud on SmackDown. Owens/Styles makes the US Title look important and worth fighting over, and Nakamura/Ziggler will be hyped heavily for Nak's first on-screen main roster match.
Do you really want them to sacrifice a guy like Luke Harper on a tertiary feud for a minor PPV? |
Best case scenario, Jinder actually looks credible in this feud, his jobber past is put behind him, and he's somebody they can insert near the top of the card as needed.
Worst case scenario, they have a nothing match and WWE start building towards Orton's next proper program against Corbin, Owens, etc. |
Mahal is really, really shit though. He might be "fresh", but that just makes him a fresh shit. He is terrible and will forever be terrible.
If we're bringing back Carlito lets just have him in the main event instead. |
I really fail to see what makes him "shit" though.
When you compare him to another name that's been thrown about when the subject of "future main eventer" is brought up, Corbin, he's better than him in every way. • Mahal's mic work is good, which is something that can't be said for Corbin. Mahal makes you listen when he talks. Corbin makes you sleepy when he talks. • Mahal is entertaining in the ring, as his matches can be different depending on who he's facing. They can be fast, slow, stiff, technical, whereas most of all of Corbin's matches are slow as fuck, because he's slow as fuck. I'll give it to Corbin that he has "short bursts" of energy where some moves look devastating, like his clotheslines but waiting on those "short bursts" is like waiting for death. • Mahal's look is both "traditional" but "different". The dude looks evil and is pretty ripped. He actually looks intimidating whereas with Corbin, you've got someone who doesn't look intimidating in the slightest. You just have a tall balding man with spaghetti hair that has a torso that's so doughy that he was told to cover up and he's done that by wearing cheap ugly wolf T-shirts while wearing Braun Strowman's trousers. Why do you think Mahal is so terrible? |
People are just trying to hinder Jinder
|
Bray is winning the title now. IJS.
|
I like how Smackdown is booked kind of like a indy promotion. Its a good one off program that buys Nakamura time to get used to the main roster befor throwing him into the main event. Smackdown is stacked at the top and this builds up the weak mid card they have so it makes sense. With the US title having the former Universal and WWE champions fighting over it beefing up the mid card is definitely needed.
Mahal being in the main event at Backlash is fine with me and I hope he has a good showing. I dont expect him to win but the match should be used to legitimize Jinder to the point where him being #1 contender or the US champ doesnt feel like a joke. Him winning though would be a huge shocker but I wouldn't be against it if he can pull off the evil foreigner gimmick. |
He's really boring, both in ring and as a character. He's not the worst wrestler on the roster, but absolutely nothing he does in-ring looks great, the only thing about him that pops are his veins. His gimmick is uninspired, overdone and unoriginal. His post match promo was just growling off a checklist of things that should get heel heat. Blah.
I also think Baron Corbin is super boring and don't like him either, hence why he is so low on the list. |
I think that most people "get" the situation with Jinder; there's other strong programmes happening on the show/they don't want to burn through title/programmes with Orton/Nakamura, Orton/Owens, Orton/AJ, Owens/AJ, etc as they've limited pieces to play with on SmackDown.
I understand your stance CK, and I'm sure most agree that getting fresh faces in the main event picture is needed - even if they don't agree that that face should be Jinder Mahal. I think most people's criticism lies in the execution. Jinder Mahal has a 17% WWE career win record. He's lost his last 11 televised matches. His last singles win on Raw/SmackDown/PPV was September 2016, prior to that August 2012. And suddenly he's the #1 Contender to the most prestigious championship in the world of wrestling. I can see why people might find that adjustment difficult. |

That being said, I don't even know if Jinder could be considered a midcarder. lol He was a jobber even all the way up to a week before he became number one contender. Not to mention the absurdity of AJ Styles winning a #1 contenders match for the US Title, thus eliminating himself from a WORLD title #1 contenders match that was won by Jinder Mahal... |
Jinder's build to his shot seemed to boil off his Instagram promo where he shot down rumors of steroids and told the world no one out-diets/trains him. Plus, his post-match promo and Talking Smack appearance really explain why he's in that spot. The Land of Opportunity Maggal. white honkies who think Jesus is an actual person hate the Mahal
|
Does DAMN iNATOR hate Mahal?
|
Apparently they've just put Mahal into what was supposed to be Rusev's push which would halfway explain the sudden shift into the anti-American gimmick.
|
The "You Americans hate diversity" line made me think of Muhammad Hassan. RIP

He sure as hell does, Mahal is going to make a lot of people upset and it's money. I'm all in for Heath Slater getting the Universal Title, Drew getting the NXT strap and Mahal hoisting the WWE title just to say they are the 3 Man Brand |
I like Jinder as no. 1 contender. I haven't seen it before. It's fresh. Good to see what he can do when put into that position. Looking forward to it.
