Stunning Steve.

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2018 11:01 PM

Love how WWE's version of women breaking ground is just them being plugged into the same useless bullcrap as the men.

slik 10-22-2018 11:01 PM

Good tag match so far

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2018 11:03 PM

Surprised this is Dolph's "proper" Tag Team Title reign. He did Freebird with The Spirit Squad, I suppose.

GD 10-22-2018 11:04 PM

Yes! Seth Rollins kicked out of the Zig Zag. This match is lit.

Yeah! For some reason WWE doesn't recognize him as a former World Tag Team Champion.

New Tag Team Champions guaranteed.

So you'd only need 4 guys 2 first round matches.

Drew vs Rollins and Lashley vs Elias

Set up Drew ve Braun and Lashley vs Brock

Much better field, although I wouldn't give anyone byes and would add Dean and Finn. It'll never happen, but given the rumors a month or so ago about them tweaking Bray Wyatt and giving him a push, maybe bring him in instead of Finn and throw him at Braun in the first round and have it actually be competitive. Make him look credible in a loss, or even have some kind of screwy ending that advances Braun, like Bray snapping and getting himself DQ'ed. Just make Bray look credible. With Romans absence and Brock being gone soon, they will have to boost a couple mid-carders to the main and Bray could fill one of those spots or at least fill an upper mid-card slot that someone else leaves open when they move up.

Do the first round on the RAW 2 weeks before SS to give the winners a week to cut promos on each other and then have the semis and finals on the SS card.

I had a feeling a turn was coming but I expected it to cost them the win. Interested to see where this goes given Seth keeps saying "Its ok" while hes being beaten down like hes trying to console Ambrose.

Be interesting to see them remain champs and Rollins try and keep the Shield together while Ambrose keeps pushing him away.

DAMN iNATOR 10-22-2018 11:13 PM

Also while I'm here, I didn't care in the least for Roman as the Universal Champion, but it was devastating to hear his shocking revelation about his health. He should never have had to, not should anyone ever have to lose a title for that kind of reason. Heartbreaking stuff.

GD 10-22-2018 11:13 PM

Emperor Smeat 10-22-2018 11:14 PM

Dean probably realized he actually didn't want to be relegated to the utter waste that is RAW's tag division.

 at the guy in the crowd trying to calm everyone down saying Dean got his right to turn.

slik 10-22-2018 11:15 PM

Brilliant heel turn

Dean waits until the moment no one expects and attacks

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2018 11:15 PM

All this heel heat just for Dean Ambrose to win the IC Title.

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2018 11:16 PM

Rollins to come out next week "heartbroken" and ask if this was all about the IC Title and offer it to Ambrose for their "friendship."

Triple A 10-22-2018 11:17 PM

Yeah that was one of the best things I've seen by WWE in like two years or something

You love repeating WWE/Roman "needed that leukemia".

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2018 11:19 PM

Ambrose would have gotten cheered if he had done it any other time. And he might even get cheered before too long. I've honestly never really wanted this turn, because I feel that while it'll allow him to do a little more with promos, it won't be what people think it will be.

This sounds like it is a good start, where he has actually given people a real reason to feel betrayed and heartbroken.

Right but those are negative things they do to themselves. A college athlete of his caliber, 1st team All-Acc, fighting and beating cancer at 22, those are the good kind of stories everybody likes to hear, and for good reason.

I can't work out the context of what that means, haha. Maybe they're just trying to make him a "crazy" heel, which, I dunno -- it doesn't appeal to me.

Mr. Nerfect 10-23-2018 12:04 AM

I did just have a weird thought. They were building around Reigns for so long. They probably knew they were going to before they even called him up, but it's been something they've been working towards since Brock beat Taker at WrestleMania. They might just put the Universal Title on Braun and say "he's the guy now!", but there is really no way they could have prepared for this.

I wonder if this could potentially have ramifications on the roster split? I dunno, I can just see them going it "all hands on deck mode" since they really don't have "the guy" now and loading up Raw with your AJ Styleses, Daniel Bryans, Randy Ortons, Jeff Hardys, etc. I mean, last I checked AJ Styles was just behind Roman Reigns in terms of merchandise moved. I can see them wanting that dude on Raw because you can't just will Braun or Seth into do the same numbers just because Roman's not there and one of them beats Brock too.

But maybe they can or will try.

Right, did he snap cause of Roman? Does he blame Seth? He seemed confused with himself after the first dirty deeds. Then almost remorseful, then psychotic.

I just don't like the idea of using the illness to advance storylines, it just seems in bad taste to me.

xrodmuc316 10-23-2018 12:17 AM

I do have to wonder if WWE considered the risk of this hanging over Roman. They have been hesitant in the past to fully go with guys like Daniel Bryan for being seen as injury prone, or Jeff Hardy for being untrustworthy to not get suspended.

Seems they would have known this could return at some point, so to not be cautious about this seems out of character for how they have done things for at least 15 years.

Sepholio 10-23-2018 12:17 AM

Think they are going to play it as Dean seeing the way Seth was celebrating as him caring more about the titles than about Roman. Dean seemed like he was more somber and not feeling like celebrating but Rollins was super stoked. Then he threw the titles at him at was like "here since this is all you seem to care about".

Of course Rollins is going to try and play it off and work through it under the guise that Dean just needed an outlet for his emotions....even though that doesn't make any sense.....but WWE so.

Sepholio 10-23-2018 12:19 AM

To think Roman was juicing (or at the very least rumored to be juicing) when he knew he had a history of Leukemia. Fucking crazy. I'd think a person would not want to be adding to their health risks like that given that history.

Supposedly they are grooming Drew McIntyre to be the next potential big star because Vince recently remembered why he held high views of him during his first run in the company.

Only reason he didn't become a major star the first time around was due to Vince's antiquated views on masculinity and a domestic incident that revealed Drew's wife was the dominate one of the couple. Similar to why Vince's soured on Morrison since Melina was the more dominate one in the relationship.

I can see that point, but I can also see the thought process being "I know this could come back, so why not."

Steroids treat a lot of things. There are also a lot of different kinds of steroids. I'm not sure if the kind someone would be using to juice and the kind you take when you get sick are the same thing. I could be wrong, I know jack shit about the different kinds of steroids other than that they exist.

Sepholio 10-23-2018 01:28 AM

I'm coming at it from the standpoint that the kind of roids athletes take can cause heart issues in a lot of cases when you use them to get jacked. I personally would want to take as little risk as possible with my heart if I had ever suffered from leukemia seeing as it is a type of blood cancer. I'd be eating healthy, exercising, not smoking or drinking, etc. That's just me though.

https://sports.yahoo.com/news/wwe-s-...210550571.html

Anoa’i went undrafted but was signed by the Minnesota Vikings, and he said he was extremely close to making the team.

“I was right there,” he said. “I was as close as you can imagine. It just slipped through the fingers. It wasn’t meant to be. I signed, went to rookie camp. But I didn’t pass my physical. I had some medical things going on. I’m convinced I could have made the team.”

Anoa’i’s medical situation has long-since cleared up, but the lingering disappointment stuck with him."

Found a little more info:

https://247sports.com/nfl/minnesota-...men-104423743/

This article has quoted from his agent at the time.

"According to Anoai's agent, Jim Ulrich, Anoai had an injury that didn't allow him to participate in the team's organized team activities last week. The Vikings reported Anoai's absence as being for "personal reasons."

On Tuesday, Ulrich said he was hopeful that Anoai would be able to participate in this weekend's minicamp, but he confirmed Wednesday that undrafted rookie would be released.

"I can't get into what his medical condition is," Ulrich said.

Ulrich said it is possible Anoai could get the medical issue cleared up in a few weeks and then look to sign with the Vikings or another team before training camp. "

He was signed in the beginning of May after going undrafted and participated in rookie mini camp. The date of his release was May 30th, 2007.

Then according to the following article, he signed with the Jaguars on August 26th, 2007:

http://slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling.../21177661.html

If those dates are correct, and the "medical issue" was the leukemia, then that could give a rough estimate on the timeframe, as he was evidently healthy after 3 months to get cleared and signed by another NFL team.

I would imagine he wasn't at top strength after chemo, which is why he probably got cut after a week, but still he wouldn't have been signed at all if he wasn't in full remission.

So hoping all goes well and the docs can get him back into remission, it is possible that a best case scenario is him being back at the Royal Rumble, which is a little more than 3 months away.

Going from Roman’s announcement to Dean and Seth winning the tag titles should have been an emotional high for the Shield. But then for Dean to turn his back on Roman and then heel. There was always going to be moments where he turned and he was actually going to be cheered. But for them to pull the trigger on the turn on this night was absolutely perfect.

Splaya 10-24-2018 07:09 AM

Also knowing that he made the announcement when very few people knew why he was going out there shows the level of respect Vince and company have for Roman. I’m sure the only four people who knew were HHH, Vince, Seth, and Dean. The commentary team didn’t know before hand allegedly and you could tell. Corey Graves was speechless and completely off his game

Damian Rey 2.0 10-24-2018 12:50 PM

Watched the turn on YouTube and agree that it was perfectly executed. In almost any other scenario, Ambrose gets a pop. Doing it the night of almost guaranteed the reaction they eventually got

Big Vic 10-24-2018 01:01 PM

I agree. Building to a heel turn never really works, they have to be quick.

I remember they tried to build Dolphs heel turn for months and then when he finally turned he got a huge pop.
