dont you wish you were in AEW?

Droford 05-27-2019 10:31 PM

RP 05-27-2019 10:31 PM

DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Droford 05-27-2019 10:32 PM

first and last electric chair segment

RP 05-27-2019 10:32 PM

lol she ripped the microphone from that little girl.

Emperor Smeat 05-27-2019 10:33 PM

Sami not being tied up sort of defeats the purpose of using an electric chair.

Droford 05-27-2019 10:33 PM

nothing like outright personal insults to the fans

Droford 05-27-2019 10:34 PM

lol "why have you not won..(looks up) the universal championship"

oh damn "AEW"

slik 05-27-2019 10:35 PM

And there's an AEW chant again...

rez 05-27-2019 10:36 PM

Interesting. Vince is going to allow AEW to be acknowledged on air.

Shisen Kopf 05-27-2019 10:36 PM

This is a really good show. I like all the talking. Please get Phil Donahue to guest host next week.

Droford 05-27-2019 10:37 PM

Rip "shocky the chair" 2019-2019

Droford 05-27-2019 10:38 PM

there should be TLEC ppv

tables ladders and electric chairs

This Q & A session reminds me of when Ginger Lynn was stripping at some titty bar in Kalamazoo and after she did her set, she took questions from the audience. Was hilarious bc people were treating her like she was a legit actress and not some scuzzy gutter fuck

Evil Vito 05-27-2019 10:40 PM

If Droford was there he would've rushed the stage to try to powerbomb Izzy off the stage like Bubba Ray Dudley did to Mae Young

slik 05-27-2019 10:42 PM

lights/tron darkened and ring apron back for exciting new 3rd hour of RAW that is totally different from the first 2

KansasCityIzzy sounds bad

slik 05-27-2019 10:55 PM

Most interesting parts of RAW:

Cesaro/Ricochet

Dancin Brock

Sami mentioning another company

I said it earlier, but Vince really does not give a shit, clearly lol.

I don't know exactly what point he is trying to make with this Raw, but this is purposefully bad.

slik 05-27-2019 10:58 PM

Ummm didn't Sami just score a 3 count and the ref no-sold it

Blonde Moment 05-27-2019 10:59 PM

I think he has gotten out of touch.
Would HHH do better? I dunno but something seriously needs to change

They were extra lazy with the switch tonight. Like almost halfway into the hour before they made the changes.

Blonde Moment 05-27-2019 11:00 PM

Lesnar should have been out there and cashed in

People have said that NXT only works so well because of it's enviornment in front of a small crowd, and while I generally agree, you'd have to think it would still work better than what they've done here tonight.

Blonde Moment 05-27-2019 11:07 PM

I dunno, maybe AEW won't work on TV but I am sure hoping that they put the fear of god in to The Wwe...
But I suppose as long as the shareholder are happy....

WWE stock has dropped about 4 or so points over the last 5 days. I don't follow it so maybe that's normal.

GD 05-27-2019 11:18 PM

Very normal. If you look at the year to date you'll see a trend. Annual rise around mania (peaked around 97) back down to where it is now. Nothing abnormal at all.

I'd say so mostly based on the stuff he's said in the past and his hands-off handling of NXT & NXT UK. WWE's biggest problem is the lack of quality direction because of Vince's habit with constant rewrites and plan changes.

He probably won't fix the deep rooted problems of nobody being bigger than the brand and his habit to keep hogging the spotlight from time to time. Same for probably being less willing to deal with serious talent problems based on some past incidents and Vince's history of being a lot more forgiving when money is not involved.

Triple A 05-28-2019 02:54 AM

Tbh that's fine to me as long as the non-wrestling stuff is interesting (which it isn't), especially since 95% of Raw matches are really boring and the same exact type of match every time. Would rather not watch 30 minute Corbin and Lashley tag matches

In the "Attitude era" a lot of the matches were really short I think

Destor 05-28-2019 03:15 AM

Its always been that way. Why people pay to watch tv tapings is beyond me.

Memphis used to do it right. Everything was there infront of the people so they were involved throughout.

Live audiences spend most of the night paying for a view of a tv thats worse than what they would got at home.

They choose this.

Droford 05-28-2019 03:21 AM

the thing thats bugging me at 3:15 am is why everyone was backstage for the party, its like, none of the people that actually wrestled were back there other than for the r truth stuff, seemed strange

That's why it stands out more than usual

WWE in 'chaos mode' since WM it seems and on-screen product suffering heavily.

They were really short but they each had a purpose. The problem with WWE's way of thinking is that they think that RAW and SD crowds are willing to watch PPV long matches. This goes back to the mentality Vince has that weekly TV should have better quality matches than PPV.

You know what never happens on Raw anymore: Title changes...more specifically World Heavyweight Championship title switches. I remember during the Attitude Era that there could have been a title change on any given night. And I do not mean the Hardcore Championship either. There was always that aura that a title change could happen, even when wrestlers like The Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, Jericho, etc. were holding onto the belt.

I’d argue it’s gotten so much worse this decade. I went to the vast majority of the Bridgeport TV tapings from 2005-2011 and not once did I feel like I got ripped off. The most “talk-heavy” TV taping I was at was Raw 15th anniversary show and even then nobody minded because it was laden with surprise appearances in front of the crowd.

Plenty of wrestling and nearly all of the talking was in-ring in front of the audience, barely anything on the tron.

Splaya 05-28-2019 08:21 AM

Problem is with today's society and their low attention spans. Most people cannot go 5 minutes without looking at their phones.

Even when they do these short matches now, they don't have a purpose behind them. Not even squash matches have a purpose anymore becuase there is no payoff in the end.

Jordan 05-28-2019 08:26 AM

Most WWE fans are trained to pop for the entrance and boo the shitty finish, and that's it. They are conditioned to not care about matches. Only the best workers can make a fan forget about whatever they want to chant and invest in the match.

They are doing a good job of conditioning lately that nothing matters and to not follow any stipulations/continuity.

I was actually just reminded of the great comedic relief of Santina Marella. I’d be down for The Great Galli dominating the women’s division though. Fuck it. Play it straight and take in the praise from LBGTQ activists everywhere.

Weird place for this, but since it was on the show...

Does Dolph not remember that Big E debuted as HIS heavy? I definitely would have brought up that parallel. Missed opportunity.

Anyway, outside of Cesaro/Richochet, this was a pretty trash show.

rofl I was so busy pointing out that Big E and Xavier came way later for Kofi, that I completely forgot about Dolph and Big E. ThT makes it extra dumb.

Say what you like about Russo, but at least he tried things and tried to give everyone something to do. He needed a filter obviously, but no one can say he wasn’t creative.

Would def choose chaos and nonsensical stories over nothing at all

GD 05-28-2019 07:07 PM

I guess I've learned to skip RAW now. If anything is worthwhile, it usually shows up on /r/SquaredCircle. Haven't even checked this week's highlights on their YouTube channel yet.

Fignuts 05-28-2019 07:42 PM

Russo was absolutely better.

It comes down to the simple fact that boring is worse than bad.

At least of someone hates something you know it takes emotion. Being apathetic is the worst death to give someone.

It's not society's fault, lol. Technology advances -- it's not a bad thing. That there are better options than WWE is still WWE's fault for not being able to compete with things that are hundreds of times more interesting.

Giving everyone something to do is not a good thing. You need to emphasize certain things, and Russo never understood that. I don't want to make the choice between Russo television and current television. I will just go "neither" and hit myself with a hammer instead.
