For sure. 100%.

slik 10-05-2019 02:21 PM

3.87 million viewers btw

Demos were over 1 million, so that's good

Week 2 will drop of course, it does for all shows - but how much or how little be interesting

Stipe Miocic is a beast man. DC isn't beating him ever again.

Can you hook us up with the gif?

This sounds funny.

Kofi is unbelievably boring and makes the WWE title seem like shit imo... Really glad his reign is finally over

Gerard 10-05-2019 04:18 PM

The "fix your teeth Brock" sign in the crowd was a highlight...

BigCrippyZ 10-05-2019 04:28 PM

Didn't watch this, but what's hilarious and pathetic to me is instead of actually using and building up their own stars, (because they can't) they continually beg (and rely on bringing in) outside mainstream stars and actual athletes to come in and headline and draw in viewers with feuds WWE didn't ever really start or even write themselves.

It shows how totally inept Vince and WWE is at actually creating quality content. Instead just write big enough checks and rely on the money to bring in the talent that will bring in viewers. 1999 Vince would be rightfully embarrassed and probably criticize and bash what has become today's 2019 Vince (who is essentially 2019's equivalent to Bischoff/Turner) in terms of their creative talent and dedication.

Seanny One Ball 10-05-2019 04:48 PM

Are you talking about the 1999 Vince that had just spent untold millions in the 80's and 90's bringing in mainstream stars to sell his product further?

I disagree. If DC pressured him throughout the fight with takedowns; he would've won, retired and it would be DC taking on Brock in Saudi Arabia. DC will ragdoll Miocic this time around.

Ben Rodrigues 10-05-2019 06:40 PM

This is also an excellent move for Tyson Fury considering he is not drawing well in the US. Given that he is ultra charismatic, he will easily win over fans who will follow him into his rematch with Wilder.

Simple Fan 10-05-2019 06:47 PM

Like the new set a lot more than Raws. Cain was a surprise. Didn't know he was done with AAA. Glad they got the championship off Kofi as well.

Triple A 10-05-2019 10:02 PM

Meltzer being weirdly defensive about people saying that Cain Velasquez's body looks like shit, esp next to Lesnar

Emperor Smeat 10-05-2019 10:28 PM

According to the Observer, SD's debut was actually lower than what FOX did last year during this same week.

SD reached 4.22 million as the peak viewership during the Rock's segment and dropped by 360k for the women's tag match. Also suffered a 222k drop during the 8-man tag and Tyson Fury stuff.

But all things considered, that isn't bad, and did triple of what FOX was doing in September with rerun programming in the time slot ...

Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley lost 360,000 viewers, which sounds bad but really isn't. About 600,000 people turned off Raw on Monday after Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair's segment.

Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and the angle with The Fiend lost 133,000 viewers.

The Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon ladder match gained 235,000 viewers.

The eight-man tag match and Tyson Fury angle lost 222,000 viewers.

The Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan match lost 3,000 viewers.

The Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston match and Cain Velasquez angle gained 105,000 viewers.

Also seems the crowd was not happy when they got baited with an expected live Austin appearance and it didn't happen. Same for a bunch of WWE's locker room rallying behind Kofi after how badly he was treated at the end of the show.

We heard from a few people that the crowd was not happy when the show went off the air. The crowd started chanting for Austin, who didn’t appear. If they expected Austin live, I get why they were ticked. The end of the show was pretty abrupt but at least Rey Mysterio showed up after what happened on Monday.

They aired an XFL commercial, which got booed, during a break.

Sorry. You're right. That's fair. I guess I meant more of 2000-01 Vince who had the guts and creative ability to find and build stars (Rock, Austin, Jericho, Kurt, HHH, Foley, etc.) that weren't truly popular or successful elsewhere before coming to WWE.

At the very least, no one on WWE's roster since Cena in 2003, whether they got their start in WWE or elsewhere, has gone on to actually be more well known than the WWE stars that came before them as a result of being involved in WWE and the "guts and creativity" of Vince/WWE.

He's mentally ill so he will do very well in America

Mr. JL 10-06-2019 01:43 AM

I have no idea why they decided to just bury Kofi Kingston after the year he has had; other than utter stupidity. I would have been fine with the outcome had there been a competitive match. And it would have served some justice to Kofi's reign and year except WE HAVE CAIN VELASQUEZ! FUCK EVERYTHING... CAIN VELASQUEZ!!! CAIN VELASQUEZ!!!!!

XL 10-06-2019 04:47 AM

Dunno who Cain Velasquez is other than a UFC guy. Don’t know anything about his history with Lesnar, although I can infer from the exchange they had. I will say Cain should have kept his top on, bigger love handles than I’ve got. He looked like shit, having seen pics of him from his UFC days I felt that he’s never been a body guy.

You know how wrestling fans complain about Vince’s preference for bigger muscular men? Yeah, I see why he has that mindset now. All of you bitching about a legit fighter who’s probably in better conditioning than majority of the WWE roster.

XL 10-06-2019 05:24 AM

I have no doubt he’s in great shape. He still looks like shit.

That scar on Lesnar's left cheek bone is courtesy of Mr. Velasquez.

Punk didn’t look like shit and the other three wear shirts when they wrestle.

Really bad take, Daveed.

Darn it, you're right. But I do feel that folks are being a little too harsh with respect to Cain's physique.

Mr. Nerfect 10-06-2019 10:52 AM

Brock beating Kofi is good. Cain being in is good. Tyson Fury is good. There’s plenty to dislike about WWE, but those things aren’t among them.

Mr. Nerfect 10-06-2019 11:14 AM

The show looks amazing.

The terribly uncharismatic talentless talent in the locker room is what buried the locker room.

And I hope they tell the story of that.

I’m also fully aware that he’s not been brought in for me (a wrestling fan), he’s been brought in to try to draw interest from MMA fans.

Mr. Nerfect 10-06-2019 12:40 PM

He’s a star. FOX would like them having stars.

XL 10-06-2019 02:42 PM

He’s a star to a certain audience - an audience that WWE want to court no doubt - but to 90% of people he’s nobody.

screech 10-06-2019 02:49 PM

I didn't recognize him at all. But if he gets more eyes on the show, then it's good for everyone I guess.

Stickman 10-06-2019 02:56 PM

Too bad Cain doesn't look like he lifts. Lesnar looked jacked and more belieavable (even though IRL Cain is probably more badass).

XL 10-06-2019 03:17 PM

Lol screech

I thought the same; “fuck Dominic looks HUGE!”

I do find it interesting that people are really on the dude about his physique. Aesthetics are important, but everyone knows this guy is bad-ass and can believe it. If he were an unknown out of the PC, I would understand it more.

Seanny One Ball 10-06-2019 05:06 PM

If they think he looks like shit wait till they see Tyson Fury with his shirt off

James Steele 10-07-2019 11:14 AM

I'd never heard of Tyson Fury until Friday.

Seanny One Ball 10-07-2019 11:42 AM

That's a respectable brag.

Bad News Gertner 10-07-2019 01:38 PM

Tyson Fury is soooooo fucking awesome

Bad News Gertner 10-07-2019 01:40 PM

So in the past week or so I've had three people who I didn't know were even liked wrestling ask me when Smackdown comes on.

My 92 year old grandmother is one of those people.

Seriously, what is it with WWE hiring four people who look exactly fucking alike?

I still can't tell Mike Kanellis apart from Curt Hawkins, That dude Alexa Bliss is with, and on a really bad day, Heath Slater.

Seanny One Ball 10-07-2019 03:39 PM

They don't look remotely alike, at least not in that picture.

It's the jaw more than anything else.

Walter does resemble Kozlov, to be honest. But if I had to pick, I'd rather get chopped by Kozlov.
