Triple A 04-26-2005 03:48 AM

Was pretty good. Only had like two parts that made me laugh out loud though. The intro with all the canceled shows and the Pinnochio shit. The hamburger comic was pretty funny too.

Boondock Saint 04-28-2005 01:51 AM

Peter: "Everybody, I got bad news. We've been cancelled."
Lois: "Oh, no! Peter, how could they do that?"
Peter: "Well unfortunately Lois there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that FOX has to make room for terrific shows like: Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonder Falls, Fastlane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Normal, Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Luis, and Greg the Bunny."
Lois: "Is there no hope?"
Peter: "Well I suppose if ALL those shows go down the tubes we might have a shot."

Lotus 05-02-2005 01:24 AM

So What'd Y'all Think of the new Family Guy?

I thought it was hilarious. It needed to come back with a bang, and that it did for sure. I was nearly crying after watching the "Passion of the Christ 2" trailer. Wow, they still have the fire.

Gouda 05-02-2005 01:28 AM

It had it's moments like always.

American Dad had the funniest moment of the two shows though. Where all the people in the screen labelled "Mexico" go to the screen marked "America" becausethe CIA dudes took their eyes off it. Where's JBL when you need him?

Ninti the Mad 05-02-2005 01:29 AM

It was alright.

el fregadero 05-02-2005 01:31 AM

I didn't really find the hamburger comic that funny when I first saw it, but now I keep thinking about it and laughing.

John la Rock 05-02-2005 02:11 AM

Family Guy was good. The Passion 2 trailer had me cracking up as well as the pinoccio skit

The Icon of Elisim 05-02-2005 02:45 AM

Family Guy was good, American Dad was better

MoRcHeEbA 05-02-2005 03:12 AM

Family Guy just has a cult following and the creator probably just could have kept releasing dvd sets and would have made more money that way.

Corkscrewed 05-02-2005 04:44 AM

It was brilliant. The opening with the canned shows, the hamburger comic, Passion 2, Stewie and Brian as parents, Mel Gibson, the car chase, Mount Rushmore... so many quotes.

Corkscrewed 05-02-2005 04:55 AM

Awesome. Shaggy gets rep.

CYCLOPTERSAURUS 05-02-2005 06:11 AM

Yes, brilliant. I loved it, laughed out loud over and over again.

Family Guy remains the best show ever, and American Dad is showing a lot of promise too.

Shaggy 05-02-2005 09:28 AM

I was happy that they had some of the old characters in this episode like...

The Old Guy who likes Kids
The Greased Guy
and definently my favorite......

Ollie Williams

Gone Mad 05-02-2005 11:30 AM

It was great, not the best, but what a way to come back. I loved the opening most of all, just rubbing it in Fox's face and the Jugghead comic and Ollie scene were funny.

American Dad has promise, especially since the pilot was very meh and this was more entertaining.

Ogen 05-02-2005 11:55 AM

4 threads on one episode ffs

Innovator 05-02-2005 12:09 PM

ONE OF THESE DAYS ALICE

yeah i know...to the moon

*BAM*

el fregadero 05-02-2005 12:45 PM

Wow, just now noticed that Cleveland, Quagmire, and Joe weren't in it.

Ninti the Mad 05-02-2005 01:39 PM

What kinda kept it down was the fact that they went with the whole Mel Gibson is a Nazi routine.

South Park already covered it pretty well.

It had its moments but it is nowhere near the best Family Guy episode. They could've done better.

The Icon of Elisim 05-02-2005 04:19 PM

Who was the drug dealer at the end, me and my friend remembered him from an episode but couldn't remember which one

Savio 05-02-2005 04:43 PM

2 and a half men  (just wanted to say something no one else said)

Savio 05-02-2005 05:01 PM

"We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like 'Dark Angel,' 'Titus,' 'Undeclared,' 'Action,' 'That '80s Show,' 'Wonderfalls,' 'Fastlane,' 'Andy Richter Controls the Universe,' 'Skin,' 'girls' club,' 'Cracking Up,' 'The Pitts,' Firefly,' 'Get Real,' 'freakylinks,' 'Wanda at Large,' 'Costello,' 'The Lone Gunmen,' 'A Minute with Stan Hooper,' 'Normal Ohio,' 'Pasadena,' 'Harsh Realm,' 'Keen Eddie,' 'The Street,' 'American Embassy,' 'Cedric the Entertainer,' 'The Tick,' 'Luis' and 'Greg the Bunny.'"

Does this mean oliver bean is still on? I liked that show.

Xero 05-02-2005 05:20 PM

Great comeback. The opening was great especially. :D They've still got it. They can do better, but this was a great way to kick off the series again.

And the greasy deaf guy was from the episode where Brian becomes a cop and goes to rehab.

Also, OLLIE!

JJ Moore 05-02-2005 06:17 PM

We know go to Ollie with the weather

IT' GONNA RAIN

Thanks Ollie

diamondcutter 05-02-2005 06:33 PM

They never lost a step since being taken off. I, like others, LOVED the opening---although I did think that "Andy Richter Controls The Universe" showed some promise.

A large part of Family Guy's Humor to me, is the quickness of the animation. Take the "Honeymooners" reference, for example: After the catchphrase, they just stand there for 3 or 4 seconds, then WHAM! Then he looks at the camera for 2 seconds then walks away. I love how they tend to keep you guessing in a gag. Loved the G.I.JOE reference, as well as Ollie's "short and to the point" statement.

American Dad was about the same as the SuperBowl pilot. Some of the jokes were pretty funny, but I'm not sure if I can get into any of the characters like I can in Family Guy.

Nervous Ferret 05-02-2005 07:11 PM

I  Ollie.

Wasn't the best show ever, but they showed they still have it, and LMAO at the beggining.

AND NO, Oliver Beane is NOT still on.

Nervous Ferret 05-02-2005 07:12 PM

^first post ever in tv movies forum.

BCWWF 05-02-2005 10:20 PM

How could you make more money selling DVD's then having a show nationally televised?

Why not? Most of them are direct rips...

Which is sad, when it means he's essentially plagarising his own fucking work.

Innovator 05-03-2005 01:24 AM

HE GONNA GET IT

Jaded-Dragon 05-03-2005 09:18 AM

It was ok, the opening of course was good. And I agree with Diamondcutter's comment about the quick animation. I've always found those to tbe the times when I laugh the loudest. Like the episode where Peter tries to teach Chris how to eat an Oreo  Good stuff.

Shaggy 05-03-2005 10:18 AM

I just watched the episode of American Dad from Sunday and all I can say is that its definently not as good as Family Guy but its good enough.

Favorite Line on American Dad:

Stan- "I Could of Assassinated You!"

RGWhat316 05-03-2005 02:31 PM

 I missed it!!! I went to a friend's house to watch Backlash, but my tape screwed up so I missed Family Guy. I gotta look for it on the net, or hope for a repeat.

The whole awkwardness of Brian and Stewie playing the parenting role and sleeping in the same bed and such was great.

I heard he was on Letterman a couple weeks ago and described American Dad as "basically the same as Family Guy"

Dave Youell 05-04-2005 05:59 AM

Why did Mel Gibson just walk of the edge like that?

Simple Lois, Christian's don't believe in gravity

JJ Moore 05-04-2005 07:02 AM

LOL at American Dad when he is driving home having flashbacks of what ppl have said to him that day and that guy is repeating what is said over and over.
