Gone Mad 01-17-2005 11:05 PM

Damn.. nobody's moving . Wow, what a fall.

Splaya 01-17-2005 11:05 PM

LOL SNITSKY BOTCHED THE DO NOT MOVE PART.

JT 01-17-2005 11:05 PM

Wow...that ending sucked.

RemyRed 01-17-2005 11:05 PM

That was bullshit. Oh well, time for Seinfeld.

Deceit 01-17-2005 11:06 PM

lol they caught snitsky saying something to kane right after they fell

Shadow 01-17-2005 11:07 PM

EVS is writing for the WWE? What the hell?

Inside Efed joke. Ignore me. Now to check who gave me rep this night.

asphyXy 01-17-2005 11:07 PM

Snitsky was smiling and talking to Kane. Good job.

Loose Cannon 01-17-2005 11:08 PM

YOU HEARD THE "BATISTA" CHANTS? YEAH, Toronto Fans Rule

And Snitsky got caught talking

Gone Mad 01-17-2005 11:08 PM

HAHA I'm looking back at the tape and it looks like Snit asked Kane what time it was, because after Snit talked to Kane, you see Kane's hand go up to Snit's face.

darkpower 01-17-2005 11:09 PM

wtf was this commentating tonight?

PLEASE replace JR and King? Why does no one believe me when I say they are old, stale, and no one gives a fuck about them anymore?

JT 01-17-2005 11:09 PM

I liked how the first aid squad came out 10 seconds after they fell, and they didn't come out in the "OMG! They might be dead!" way but the "Is it our time to come out and put these guys on a strecher even though other wrestlers have continued matches under worst circumstances yet?" way.

Loose Cannon 01-17-2005 11:11 PM

This show had a lot of "What Not to Do In Wrestling" moments on it.

Well, just as many as TNA usually has.

RemyRed 01-17-2005 11:13 PM

It was still pretty good though.

MVP 01-17-2005 11:15 PM

Batista and HHH were the focus of RAW. You think either of them would be in a main event match? No

Jericho and Benoit are over huge in Toronto and can put on one hell of a match. You think they'd be saved for the main event? No

Instead it's Kane vs. Snitsky in a shitty match that had little build-up during the show, and prior to RAW, and ended with a blown spot into a bunch of tables that have no logical purpose for being in the spot where they were.

The match and the spot generated zero crowd reaction; while Batista, Jericho, and Benoit received the biggest pops of the night.

Gone Mad 01-17-2005 11:15 PM

Well, at least we know from the look on his face that Snitsky had a great time tonight, doing his first big fall. You can tell from how Kane sold it and how Snits sold it.

**After the fall**
Snit (smiling): Wow, that was fun. What time is it again?
Kane: Can't talk, selling. **puts arm over Snit's face for a second**
Snit: Oh, that's the time. Selling time! **closes eyes but the smile is still there** .... Can I move now?
Kane: ... damn you.

Savio 01-17-2005 11:17 PM

Sniskty: You all right?

Did Christian get a good pop?

I thought Snitsky say to Kane, "are we on?" or "are you hurt?" or something like that. That would've made more sense at least. He asked him what time it is?!?

Those of you complaining about the show tonight...... whatever. You're entitled to your opinion, but I thought it was great. Maybe it was the crowd. A hot crowd can really make a show, and they're always pumped in Canada.

I thought Christian's pop was HUGE.

And are you people SURE Snitsky asked Kane what time it was?

No, it is most likely that he asked Kane if he was ok, but looking back at how badly Snits was acting, I wouldn't be surprised that he would have said so that's why I said that.

Now, about the show, it was great, but could have been better. All the build up for a Jericho main event led to Kane and Snit falling on well place tables. But next week has to beat this in greatness. That's all for me.

Well on the level of what I would call a "well executed show", I would say that this was nearly one of the worst written shows I've seen, being placed together so poorly. However, I feel it was also saved because of the audence and the good wrestling (well at least 2 matches).

Now don't lose hope by saying never, just think how good the APA Bradshaw fans feel now that their time has come.

Gouda 01-17-2005 11:36 PM

I'm pretty sure Snitsky said "You all right?" and than proceeded to smile and lie there with his eyes open when they were supposed to be unconscious and hurt.

Anyways... I'm pissed off at them jobbing Christian. It's his hometown! Give him a win for once!

In other news... Jericho was GOLD. First the Highlight Reel and then a clean win over Bentoit? GOLD.

The Jericho/Bentoit match was pretty good too. I didn't want the commercial break there.

Viscera just looks plain funny. It was correct to have Batista sell him because Viscera is basically a big man who always loses to make people look impressive. If you don't show that he has power than no one will care.

Other than Jericho/Bentoit it was a pretty bad show.

Oh yeah, also screw TSN for censoring Kane's chokeslam on Trish.

DISCUSSION - Could Christian ever become a success as a FACE?

DISCUSSION - Could Christian ever become a success as a FACE?

Does anyone here think the Christian could be successful as a face?

-His current music seems somewhat "face-ish" IMO.
-He seems to have 'hit a wall' of sorts as a heel (although he's still entertaining IMO).
-The 'CLB' and "Let's go Christian" chants could be decent.
-Christian has good enough mic skills.

Hell - if the WWE could get the fans to cheer Regal, then I guess anything is possible. :p

The only problem I see with Christian, is that the fans might 'love to hate' him a little too much (i.e. sort of like Angle).

Amen to that.

Good ol' Canada.

I'm glad to be back home in the greatest country in the world.

All in all, I actually liked the show. It wasn't their best, but it wasn't that bad either (IMO).

Good god us Canadian fans rule.

I'm a bit disappointed that Benoit jobbed cleanly to Jericho. It's great for Jericho, but are the WWE ever gonna push him? If not - then this match makes Benoit look bad more than it makes Jericho look good.

Nonetheless - I was entertained.

Interesting fan reactions all night.

The fans made the show fun for me. :D

Who's more over up there - Jericho or Benoit?

RGWhat316 01-18-2005 12:18 AM

That was an interesting RAW. And love them or hate them, the Canadian crowds usually put on a show. And for all the Canadians on the board who like Muhammed because he usually tells the truth, well he spoke the truth again tonight, and this time you got the brunt of it. And HBK rules.

Trish cemented her heel-ness. She was a bitch for the USAholes line. So Kane ruled with that chokeslam. Jericho was the man again.

Fairly interesting comments by HHH for not wanting Batista to be selfish. Damn Batista should've killed him right there. The spinebuster was impressive on Viscera, but Vis got too much offense in.

Kane/Snitsky was decent. And the table spot would've been better if Snitsky was yakking. But good RAW.

In all seriousness, WWE should do more international events. Having more fans in attendance just creates a completely different atmosphere.

The show tonight was "average", but the fans made it awesome.

If you ever went to a WWE show in Canada you would notice that half the crowd has Y2J memorbillia

I always noticed the fans were into the product more, which makes the shows better. But tonight it finally hit me.... it's not the product, it's the fans (hence my new thread). GOD BLESS CANADA!

The Answer 01-18-2005 12:47 AM

I just got back from the show and what a show it was.

Match results that you didn't see

Dark match
"The Masterpiece"Chris Masters squashed a local Toronto guy with a torture rack turned into a neck breaker

Randy Orton,Benoit,Jericho defeated HHH,Batista,Edge when Randy Orton reversed a HHH pedigree into an R-K-O.

Atmosphere was great

Biggest pops
Jericho/Benoit
Christian
HHH
Trish
Batista

Biggest jeers
HBK
Hussan
Snitsky
Coach

John la Rock 01-18-2005 12:49 AM

Hasan really got that big of heat? eh? I bet it's only because he interrupted Jericho

Corkscrewed 01-18-2005 12:50 AM

Man, just watched Kane killing Trish and I must say... Trish has better mic skills than 75% of the roster.

John la Rock 01-18-2005 12:55 AM

^ yes she does. She is BY far the best Women talent they have ever had :y:

Mayo 01-18-2005 01:36 AM

Splaya, I didn't lead the Wave but I did take part in it, that was hilarious. Some funny chants included "Lets go Chris" (when Benoit and Jericho wrestled) and "Who are you?" to some jobber Indian guy on heat.

One guy had a sign in the front row that said "HHH Fears Divorce" LMAO. Security came and took it away like 5 mins later  They actually took away quite a few signs, those bastards. Lots of the crowd cheered Hassan like crazy at first but then we started booing him after he made fun of Canada. Christian had a huge pop, as well as Batista and HHH. Orton was getting lots of boos, although the teenage girls cheering him probably balanced it out. Trish looked hot as hell

Overall it was an okay show I guess, but the crowd in Toronto always makes it fun and I will continue to go every time :D

John la Rock 01-18-2005 01:38 AM

Gotta love my T-dot homies. Too bad I'm stuck here in Waterloo :(

Wolverine 01-18-2005 02:01 AM

Hey during the la res match, or the highlight reel, I forget, but anyone see the Steph fears Heyman sign?

Yeah, that sign is the truth.

I had a pretty good time. Should have seen Kanes head after the chokeslam spot...pretty bloody. The "secret match" was pretty fun as well. It was fun doing the wave as well.

To be honest, I do agree with this.

During the Benoit/Jericho match, the fans CLEARLY did not want to side with one or the other.

However - Jericho got a MUCH bigger face pop when his music hit (both times). Surprisingly, Benoit's reaction wasn't all that big (atleast that's how it came across on TV).

Benoit is more over than Jericho in Edmonton (because he's the hometown hero)

But as far as everywhere else in Canada is concerned, Jericho is WAY more over. Just look at the crowd? the Y2J chants out number the BENOIT chants

They were both getting some decent pops.

And the fans were even chanting "Let's go Chris" for awhile.

Team Sheep 01-19-2005 02:30 PM

I don't see all the fuss about being chokeslammed through a bunch of tables like that. It wasn't exactly high, and I bet it was a pretty soft landing. I bet half the guys in the arena could have done that... :-\
