Yeah, I had it on espn2 for the first quarter and then they switched it to all those wierd pointless angles. I figured it out though.

DrA 09-05-2006 02:39 AM

I know some people that know some people that know some people, and if I play my cards right I might go to the Texas/Ohio State game.

DrA 09-05-2006 02:42 AM

I'm also 99% sure that I'm going to the Texas/Oklahoma game as well.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PREDICTION HERE!!!!

Miami despite the loss to FSU will be playing in the national title game. Against Purdue

RP 09-05-2006 04:01 AM

Miami's defense is sick.

A friend of mine from Cincinnati went home for the game last year with the expectation of buying a scalped ticket for around $300, but at the game some coordinators wife or something offered him her extra ticket for free because she isn't allowed to scalp it or something, so he ended up getting sweet tickets for nothing.

Just some motivation for ya.

And if I had $2300 I would be going.

BCWWF 09-05-2006 07:38 PM

ASL DrA?

Supreme Olajuwon 09-05-2006 07:54 PM

No worries DrA, you can go hang out at Texas' basketball arena that OSU rented out for the day

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-05-2006 11:32 PM

Gonna be a fucking unreal game, hopefully Mr. Ginn ditches the Punters facemask though. Like seriously the most retarded thing I've ever seen.

Joey Slugs 09-06-2006 12:05 PM

The thing that pisses me off most about the new ratings is that ND has more first place votes than Texas & USC but both are ranked higher.

The ONLY reason Texas moved up is because they want better ratings for Saturday's game. Ohio State/Texas is a hot game and all, but #1/#2 is hotter.

RoXer 09-06-2006 03:43 PM

Nah, #4 sounds about right.

BCWWF 09-06-2006 10:05 PM

You do realize that the coaches and the journalists in the polls do not give a shit if ESPN has good ratings, right?

Joey Slugs 09-07-2006 12:30 PM

And you are telling me that ESPN does NOT influence sports?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-07-2006 12:39 PM

Where is anyone saying that? I don't think anyone is, but if we could just ignore the ND hype machine for a minute, they don't deserve to be #2 after their showing last weekend.

Not like early season rankings really matter too much anyway, aslong as you start out in the top 5 you are all set. Win out and you are the National Championship game.

Gonzo 09-07-2006 02:48 PM

#4 is good, and ND is my team.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-07-2006 06:55 PM

Notre Dame is a good team and all but USC dropped 50 on a decent Arkansas team on the road. As for Texas, if they beat OSU then they deserve the ranking and if lose then they'll drop so what's the big deal?

BCWWF 09-09-2006 05:50 PM

We kicked the shit out of Ole Miss today. Assuming that Nebraska is as overrated as I believe them to be, we are going to have a legitimate chance at the Big 12 North.

RoXer 09-09-2006 05:58 PM

Washington was lookiong good for a half there against Oklahoma.

I'm oging to go watch Arizona get trounced by LSU now. I know theyre not going to win, I just don't want them to getembarresed.

BCWWF 09-09-2006 06:39 PM

Yeah I thought Washington might have a chance, but what it came down to was their QB just isn't that good. Things started breaking down after that was established.

BCWWF 09-09-2006 06:41 PM

By the way, this Penn State and Notre Dame game has been mad boring so far. The first two quarters basically had no offense at all, and then Notre Dame took over. I was hoping for more.

I think Texas has a case of the 'Laurinattis' tonight.

DrA 09-09-2006 11:00 PM

This has been a huge letdown; it has the feel of a Cleveland Browns/Baltimore Ravens game.

BCWWF 09-10-2006 02:32 AM

Ohio State was the better team, and Texas not having those cornerbacks really killed them. Not sure how effective they could have been, but the Ohio State recievers were amazing.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Texas Stadium? It fits a lot of people, but it just has such a weird look. One side has a giant upper deck, the other is small, the stands on the end are small, I don't know. It doesn't have the same feel as a regular Big 12 stadium, it just looks like the Philadelphia Eagles field done wrong. I dunno, they should just put that giant upper deck on both sides, it's not like they would struggle to find fans.

CNM 09-10-2006 04:16 AM

Wow, CU might have the worst offense in the country

Rally sons of Notre Dame:
Sing her glory and sound her fame,
Raise her Gold and Blue
And cheer with voices true:
Rah, rah, for Notre Dame
We will fight in ev-ry game,
Strong of heart and true to her name
We will ne'er forget her
And will cheer her ever
Loyal to Notre Dame

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory.

Was the 2nd half good enough for you?

BCWWF 09-10-2006 12:08 PM

It was just as boring, because Penn State didn't show up. I'll give credit to Notre Dame, because they really killed Penn State, but this also isn't the same Penn State team as last year. Not nearly as good. As for Notre Dame, I have changed my opinion of them slightly, and I could see them finishing in the national title game. Brady Quinn did look a bit rough at times last night, but so did Matt Lienart last year. I think they will win around 10-11 games.

I'm not saying either one would work necessarily, but single coverage on Gonzalez would definintely be the lesser of two evils.

Don't be so sure about that. Gonzalez has much better hands and is more disciplined as a route runner than Ginn. Apparently Gonzalez also beat Ginn in a 40 yd race earlier this year. Ginn is explosive when he gets the ball, but for what it's worth Anthony "White Lightning" Gonzalez is the better receiver right now.

OK, I will try to make this simple. How would West Virginia finish if it's schedule was this: Louisiana-Lafayette Arizona @ Auburn Tulane Mississippi State @ Florida Kentucky Fresno State @ Tennessee Alabama Mississippi @ Arkansas My prediction: 9-3 Now what about if West Virginia faced this schedule: Marshall Eastern Washington Maryland at East Carolina at Mississippi State Syracuse at Connecticut at Louisville Cincinnati at Pittsburgh South Florida Rutgers My prediction: 12-0 ----------------- So, if West Virginia goes 12-0, they will inevitably end up in the BCS top-5, probably quite easily. BUT, if the exact same team played a different schedule and went 9-3, it wouldn't be in a BCS bowl. So basically what I am saying is that the rankings are not always accurate. If even an average team, say for example TCU went 12-0 in the Mountain West, they would most likely get a BCS bid. BUT, if that same TCU team went 9-3 in the SEC, it would not get a BCS bid because it was not undefeated. West Virginia is a great team, but not No. 5 in the nation, I am sorry Stima, but it's true. The one ranked team on the schedule lost it's Heisman candidate running back, the rest is cupcakes.

RoXer 09-17-2006 12:18 AM

I am going to ask this question again:

Is it normal for a kicker to kick 75 yd FGs during warm-ups? Because Nick Folk BLASTED one from the other 35. Last week, it was the other 40.

Dudes going to be hitting them from the goal line eventually.

Have you even watched WVU play? How do you know they wouldn't have a better record than 9-3 in the SEC?

Louisiana-Lafayette W
Arizona W
@ Auburn Toss up, probably a L
Tulane W
Mississippi State W
@ Florida Toss up, I'd say a W but could either way
Kentucky W
Fresno State W
@ Tennessee W
Alabama W
Mississippi W
@ Arkansas W

I guess the Tennesse game could be a toss up as well, I'd see them winning that. Or atleast all 3 of those games being very close with the ability to go either way, just because WVU is in a weaker conference doesn't mean they are a weaker team. Ask Georgia (2005 SEC Champions)

RoXer 09-17-2006 01:49 PM

(2) NOTRE DAME 5.5 • (11) Michigan Correct Mich 47, ND 21

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2006 05:22 PM

I understand that the SEC is tougher and it is harder to play better teams week after week, but this is the way college football has worked forever. Miami was never punished for dominating a pretty average Big East (before the changes) same goes for FSU dominating the ACC for all those years (before the changes) so I don't see what is any different with WVU now.

BCWWF 09-17-2006 09:53 PM

I wouldn't say they are being punished. I also wouldn't say that they are getting the short end of the stick. If they can completely dominate their schedule and not lose a game, maybe they will warrant a national championship spot. That is what happened in the past, I mean look at USC, the Pac-10 isn't all that great but they kicked the shit out of most opponents, so it was clear why they were getting the votes.

My reasoning for bringing up the LSU schedule is because I just don't think that WVU would win that many games. If they can't win games in a different conference, obviously they aren't national championship caliber. Of course that is completely my opinion, and it is still early in the season. My opinion is just that if every team was on the same playing field, meaning the rankings were not based on if LSU losing to Auburn type games, WVU wouldn't be as high as they are.

To clarify that, I mean LSU loses to Auburn, but does that mean that LSU is worse than they were last week? Texas could still be the No. 2 team in the nation, but they lost to Ohio State and are now ninth or something. That's just what I mean when I say the rankings are based too much on wins than objectivity.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2006 10:41 PM

None that stuff has to do with WVU being a top 5 team in the nation, which I think they are. Maybe a top 10 I guess, since the majority of them could be interchangable after the top 2 or 3.

Its pretty much gonna come down to Ohio State, Auburn or USC playing in the
National Championship anyway. I thought ND had a shot (I feel like a joke for sipping on that hype machine coolaid now) but obviously that is no longer the case. Although if they do end up running the table from here on out, Norte Dame is the only team that could get enough love to be a 1 loss team (with that loss being a blow out) to get a National Title shot. They won't though, USC is going to win by atleast 3 touchdowns.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-17-2006 11:19 PM

I'm pretty confident that Louisville can beat WVU this year. The game is at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium so who knows.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2006 11:22 PM

lol Papa John's Cardinal Stadium

Well I think Louisville is a top 10 team so they got a shot to beat WVU. Too bad they got some big injuries right now, otherwise they would have romped the U by even more. I missed most of that game though, so did Louisville dominate as much the score looked or did Miami just play an awful game or something?

BCWWF 09-18-2006 12:53 AM

Lol yeah that is the worst name I've heard. I was more on the Louisville bandwagon than the WVU, but the loss of the running back makes it harder. I still don't think either team is top-5 in the whole nation though.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-18-2006 01:10 AM

OU got majorly robbed. I don't see how they reviewed it and STILL got it wrong. Both the pass intro and the onside kick call. That pass intro that they picked up against Auburn I though was crap too. They said that it was the right call because the pass was uncatchable after the guy tipped the ball. So, basically, on a hail mary, a team could tackle all the receivers in the end zone, but as long as one of their players can tip the ball, it's no penalty? Lol, riiiiight.

Judging by schedules, it really looks like Ohio St./Michigan could be another #1 vs. #2 game at the end of the year. Auburn and Florida both have their murderous SEC schedules, USC actually has to go through a decent Pac10 this year and if Michigan and WVU both win out until then, Michigan will probably jump them in the rankings. I wonder how many times there have been two 1 vs 2 games in the same season.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-19-2006 01:13 PM

lol wow Oklahoma probably the worst officating job ever

I don't know if Michigan is going to win out until their game againest Ohio State, just going off of past track records they have been known to slip up and lose to a team they shouldn't lose too.

The Outlaw 09-19-2006 02:34 PM

They've actually been talking about suspending the game.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-19-2006 03:44 PM

Yeah I heard that but it isn't going to happen, if you got ESPNU check out the Bob Stopps press conference, I've never really been an Oklahoma fan but that dude is the man.

The Outlaw 09-21-2006 02:29 PM

Yeah Stoops is cool folk.

BCWWF 09-21-2006 06:16 PM

The reason that I don't give a shit is because Oklahoma isn't going to be a BCS team regardless. They looked very average against Washington and would have barely beat Oregon. So if Oklahoma finishes 9-3 and outside of the BCS, and a team like Iowa State or Missouri finishes 10-2, of course the Cotton Bowl or Holiday Bowl is going to take Oklahoma anyway.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-21-2006 09:03 PM

just had to get the Missouri plug in

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-21-2006 09:16 PM

lol

BCWWF 09-21-2006 09:57 PM

It is a perfectly legitimate point, and Missour and Oklahomai could both very easily go 9-3 this year.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-21-2006 10:57 PM

What if Oklahoma beats Texas this year? "Barely" beating a team like Oregon isn't that bad really, pretty sure they are like #15 or something the nation.

BCWWF 09-22-2006 02:27 AM

That is true, but I am looking more at the Washington game. The fact that Washington looked like the better team for a whole half in Norman, and then Oklahoma wasn't all that much better in the next game.

Oklahoma could beat Texas again this year, and that would change everything, but I don't think they will. Anyway, even if Oklahoma did go like 10-2, isn't the BCS based on the polls, so the voters wouldn't be skewed like the computer program?

Supreme Olajuwon 09-23-2006 01:10 PM

You know......... If the Texans wind up with the first pick this year, then all of a sudden not taking Reggie Bush might've been the smartest move ever. Adrian Peterson is absolutely ridiculous in every sense of the word so if they got him and Mario Williams then they might just be geniuses after all.

RoXer 09-23-2006 02:21 PM

I will be on national television TONIGGHHTTTT

Check your local listings.

ABC. 5 p.m.

I'll be probably on the 40 yd line on the right side of the field if you look at it from the tv. I'll probably be about 2-3 rows up. I'll be the one in the red shirt.

BCWWF 09-23-2006 05:12 PM

4-0!

Anybody see the Colorado game? Up 13-0 at Georgia in the fourth, then end up losing 14-13. Too bad they are about to go 0-5. Also, sucks that Wisconson lost, that is usually one of my favorite games, I wish it could have been on at a better time.

BCWWF 09-23-2006 05:13 PM

Also, No. 4 West Virginia 7 - 7 East Carolina in the second quarter.

Arkansas posted this as a demo of what the shirt would look like. The two 00's are where the score goes.
