Anyone see OJ Mayo cram on that dude a few nights ago in one of the summer league games? It was on ESPN top plays yesterday I think, shit was ridiculous.

Jura 07-13-2008 11:56 PM

lol I was watching the stream for that and then I was like nah the quality and lighting is crappy and I can't tell who is who so I stopped watching. Then later on I hear about OJ doing a dunk on some guy.

Better quality than I've been seeing - It's Hilton Armstrong who gets crammed on which makes it even better since that dude is a pretty good shot blocker from what I hear.

Anyone hear that Marbury got his Starbury Inc. logo tattoo'd on his head? I saw a picture of it online somewhere, don't feel like finding it again but its true lol

RP 07-16-2008 03:39 AM

I read Mayo got ripped and slammed on by a D-League player. Also read that Anthony Randolph is tearing it up.

SammyG 07-16-2008 04:42 AM

Camby to the Clippers..

Skippord 07-16-2008 05:36 PM

Good choice there Nuggets :|

SammyG 07-16-2008 05:54 PM

Wow, Posey to the Hornets, 4 years 25 million..

Ninti the Mad 07-16-2008 05:56 PM

I am glad the Nugs got rid of Camby.

He sucks. I dont care if he makes the all defensive team. He is still a piece of shit.

SammyG 07-16-2008 06:14 PM

lol @ every team in the West except for the Lakers, Blazers, Hornets.

RP 07-16-2008 06:31 PM

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THIS MARCUS CAMBY DEAL POSSIBLY WORKS? They traded him for a 2nd round draft pick. How is that possible? How does that get approved? Is Camby no under contract? Dont they have to match salarys? WTF is going on here. The NBA is so damn currupt.

Jazz are gonna be solid as usual, and do nothing in the playoffs. again.

turiaf finally to GS, i wonder how samuelG feels about this. he will be a back up center and hopefully play some good defense.

Why would they have to match salaries when the Clippers are way under cap because of Brand leaving?

Crimson 07-18-2008 11:49 PM

Yea, Denver apparently saves tons of money by letting Camby go. Corrupt lol

lol what? There are certain things they need to do sometimes to make the salaries "work" but they don't have to match. How would they ever make a trade if contracts had to match?

SammyG 07-19-2008 02:51 PM

Yeah, Ronny to GS... Good for him. He's a good guy. We got Odom, Gasol, Bynum.. he wouldn't get much playing time, plus 17 million for 4 years for him is wayyyyy too much. Wish him the best. G.S. needs big men anyway.

Bynum FINALLY cleared to begin basketball activities... About fucking time. Been waiting for that for like 6 months.

I wish we could pick him up without giving up Odom and without receiving Kenny Thomas.

Celtics bringing back Eddie House and Tony Allen. Surprised by the Tony Allen move but maybe they think he won't be afraid to jump next year on his repaired knee? Pretty sure the only real dunk he had all year came in the closing seconds of the NBA finals so I dunno.

SammyG 07-23-2008 01:59 PM

Wow, Childress, you are an idiot. Have fun playing in Greece, with Olympiakos. Fucking hooligans, terrible basketball. Terrible environment to play in.

Jura 07-23-2008 03:00 PM

Why is it terrible?

SammyG 07-23-2008 07:37 PM

Because every game there is ruined by flares, stupid fans rushing onto the court, violence in the stands, throwing coins onto the floor. It's terrible, I've lived there, trust me.

Basketball hooligans.

Actually he's brilliant. He's getting paid 3 times more then he coulda possibly made in the NBA. He's also gunna be a superstar over there. And he has the option to opt out of his contract after every year and come back as a unrestricted free agent. So if he tears it up over there, which he probably will, he'll come back and get a monster contract in the NBA. But besides that, he's getting paid alot of money to play overseas. Its a pretty brilliant move by him.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-23-2008 10:34 PM

He is getting a lot more money, I still wouldn't want to do it though. I mean he was gonna make millions here in the States anyway, I think I could manage off of 7 million/year instead of 10 million/year or whatever the difference ended up being. Personal choice though I guess.

RP 07-23-2008 10:40 PM

What i read was that the only team that could pay him money was Atlanta and that because the free agencie money has dried up with pretty much all the teams, he was pretty much gunna have to accept whatever contract Atlanta offered. I think its a brilliant move because everyteam is look at overseas players and if he goes and tears it up for a year, he makes 10 mill guaranteed ( all the money is guaranteed ) and he can opt out and become a unrestricted free agent where someone in the NBA might pay him a ton of money.

RP 07-23-2008 10:40 PM

I dont think he's that good, but who knows. He played in SF central aka Atlanta Hawks.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-23-2008 11:29 PM

I dunno he averaged almost 12 points per game off the bench for the Hawks, that's pretty decent. He could have went out and looked for other contracts but Atlanta had the right to match any deal so maybe he just really did not want that to happen so he went and got a pay raise without having to worry about the Hawks matching. I dunno I wouldn't want to leave the NBA to go play in a foreign country but that's just me

SammyG 07-25-2008 08:03 PM

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The NBA has filed for trademark rights to six nicknames for the league's new Oklahoma City franchise: Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind.

An attorney for the league made the filing Monday with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Marshal is usually spelled with one l. It's not clear why the league used a variant spelling.

The filing is listed on the patent office's Web site.

The NBA and the team have refused to discuss possible new names for the team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics ahead of an official announcement, which has not yet been scheduled.

WTF is up with those names.

They suck. The one that sucks the least is Barons but still. Kinda lame.

Artest responds " I'm ghetto. I'm never gonna change my style"

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-01-2008 04:29 AM

He had an interview earlier on ESPN saying he talked to Yao and everything is cool now. Wow the interview though, Ron Artest is seriously retarded, like not even joking. Has a mental handicap or something, probably something similar to the Clox guy that posts here.

Jannero Pargo is going to Europe..

Quote:

Hornets guard Jannero Pargo signs one-year deal with Dynamo Moscow

NEW YORK — New Orleans Hornets guard Jannero Pargo is the latest player to turn his back on the NBA for Europe.
Pargo signed a one-year deal with Dynamo Moscow of the Russian League, agent Mark Bartelstein told The Associated Press in a phone interview Friday.
The one-year deal is worth nearly US$4 million and is about twice what Pargo made for the Hornets last season, Bartelstein said. Pargo joins a growing defection of NBA players lured overseas by higher salaries.
"Jannero's probably one of the higher profile players to go over," Bartelstein said.
Josh Childress began the exodus of role players in July when he spurned the Atlanta Hawks and signed a three-year deal with Greek club Olympiakos worth about $20 million after taxes. Earl Boykins, Carlos Arroyo, Nenad Krstic, Carlos Delfino and Jorge Garbajosa have since left the NBA for European teams.
Dynamo also signed Bostjan Nachbar, who averaged 9.8 points for the New Jersey Nets last season.
The six-foot-one, 175-pound Pargo is a six-year NBA veteran out of Arkansas. He averaged 8.1 points and 18 minutes a game as a reserve for the Hornets last season, and was the team's fourth-leading scorer in the playoffs with 10.2 points per game.
New Orleans attempted to re-sign Pargo after he opted out of the final year of his contract in hopes of getting a more lucrative deal. Bartelstein said he had a handful of offers from the NBA, and the short length of the contract means the 28-year-old backup point guard has some future flexibility.
"We had a couple of interesting offers," Bartelstein said. "We just thought it was a great opportunity. He expects to do this for a year, take a deep breath and decide what to do next year. By no means does this mean we're saying goodbye to the NBA."

HORNETS DISPLAY REBIRTH WITH UPDATED LOGOS AND UNIFORMS
New Designs Inspired by New Orleans Culture

August 20, 2008

To proudly showcase the images of New Orleans’ passion, heritage and future, the Hornets unveiled updated logo modifications and new team uniforms today. The new designs were created in collaboration with the Hornets, the NBA and adidas, and are inspired by the emblems, colors and textures that New Orleanians and people around the world associate with the city of New Orleans.

“We are extremely proud to be the New Orleans Hornets, and our new logos and uniforms pay tribute to the past, present and future of this great city,” said Executive Officer of the Board Chad Shinn. “These exciting new designs represent our commitment to championship performance on and off the court as we look ahead to a successful future in New Orleans.”

The Hornets primary logo has been enhanced with the team’s new colors: a vibrant blue, a deeper, more passionate purple and Mardi Gras gold. In addition, the arms on the primary logo have been better proportioned, the ball channels have been made more accurate and “NOLA” now appears across the chest. The wordmark “New Orleans Hornets” includes more stylization linked to the wrought iron of New Orleans architecture.

The “Fleur-de-bee”, which was introduced as a patch on the team’s uniforms last season, will continue this season as the Hornets secondary logo but will be used as a major element of the Hornets brand identity. The “Fleur-de-bee” is based on the fleur-de-lis, or “flower of life”, which is an enduring image of the region’s cultural identity and is recognized worldwide as a symbol of New Orleans’ resiliency and rebirth.

A third logo has also been introduced and depicts the familiar NOLA abbreviation with a basketball and trumpet, capturing the essence of the city, its history of music and the team, and creates one cohesive mark.

The Hornets uniforms maintain consistency with the logo identity, using the same logos, fonts and colors. “New Orleans” will still be featured on the front of the home and away jerseys, making the Hornets one of only two NBA teams to wear their city’s name on the front of both jerseys. The “Fleur-de-bee” is featured on the side of the shorts and on the center back of the neck of the jersey. The NOLA horn is placed on the back of the shorts. The home (white) and road (vibrant blue) uniforms also feature pinstripes, which provide a bit of jazz flair as well as pay tribute to the 20 years the Hornets franchise has been in existence. In addition, the team’s second road uniform has been retired.

The entire launch event was featured on Hornets.com in a live stream. New merchandise featuring the new colors and logos will be available immediately at the Hornets Nest team store as well as online at NBAStore.com.

SammyG 08-20-2008 08:25 PM

What the fuck didn't they change their logos like 2 years ago or some shit?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-21-2008 01:27 AM

There are certain rules in the NBA when you are allowed to change your uniform, add alternates, etc. so I guess NO has waited long enough for that to happen.

I heard they are going back to the pinstripe type design (if it said that in Krispys article my B I didn't read it) Which was the shit back when they used to have it

http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2008/sioncampu...ants/p1_LJ.jpg

Just noticed for the first time ever that the shorts don't have pinstripes though, lol what the hell?

Kris P Lettus 08-21-2008 11:46 AM

The main change is one of the unis will say NOLA with a horn on the front.. Some changes in color too, making them more Mardi Gras colors..
