Kalyx triaD 02-11-2011 03:44 PM

That is a big gun.

Shadow 02-11-2011 07:12 PM

Well technically Shockwave is a big gun.

XCaliber 02-11-2011 10:45 PM

Thought he was supposed to be more a huge laser canon that's a huge upgrade from what he was a Cybertron beign a mere telescope lol.

Shadow 02-12-2011 01:46 AM

Nope...he's a big fucking gun just like Megatron is a small gun with a huge kick.

Requiem 02-12-2011 03:14 AM

2nd movie was a piece of trash, but the 1st was fun, and this one looks like it has potential to be fun.

Transformers 2 was one of the worst movies i had ever seen. Why is anyone looking forward to this?

Shadow 02-22-2011 05:47 PM

Because FUCK YOU THAT'S WHY!

BigDaddyCool 02-22-2011 05:52 PM

:'(

Fignuts 02-23-2011 06:30 AM

I figure they know 2 was poorly received, and they are making a point to improve on the sequel.

Kalyx triaD 02-23-2011 06:45 AM

Not to mention the factors from last time didn't harm the production this time. Not that people ever gave a shit about why it went down that way.

Rather not here criticism from ducks who wrote off the series anyway. You hate Bayformers, that's fine, but why are you here? This I ask to anyone who have nothing but hate for the movie series. Get a life.

BigDaddyCool 02-23-2011 09:49 AM

Nice knee jerk fan boy reaction Kalyx.

Also I'm here because I know I'm going to see it because it will exist and my inner fan boy won't let me not watch it.

Then the jokes on you. You'll never catch me sucked into something I diss on a regular then watch it 'just cause'. Never understood that. Bunch of dudes in the VG forum just like that too. "I'll bad mouth it for a while to be hip and critical then buckle and buy the game, I'll even invite the guy I riffed on for liking the same game to be ironic."

No bitch, I'm playing with actual fans, see ya later. Huzzah!

BigDaddyCool 02-23-2011 03:21 PM

Kalyx, the reason you never do that is because you do mental gymnastics to tell yourself it is ok, and everyone who talks bad about it isn't true fan.

*Also I didn't spend money on seeing it, so deal with it, noob.

Kalyx triaD 02-23-2011 03:53 PM

Oh you're a fan, I remember your Starscream avy.

BigDaddyCool 02-23-2011 03:56 PM

I never said I wasn't a fan on Transformers the cartoon.

Kalyx triaD 02-23-2011 04:01 PM

lol Yes you did. Like a year ago via PM (for some reason). You're a liar. A liar and a blue-eyed devil.

BigDaddyCool 02-23-2011 04:06 PM

now you are just being silly. I said I wasn't a huge fan of Transformers Beast Machines a week ago on your wall...wait no that was yesterday.

Kalyx triaD 02-23-2011 04:11 PM

Liar liar pants on fi-ya!

I can't wait for this movie.....was in Chicago last summer when they filmed some of it and have some pics if you want to see them let me know, but the stunts looked amazing that they had set up all down Michigan Avenue.

Agreed.

Which means he's perfect for Bayformers.

XCaliber 02-28-2011 11:50 PM

Get this the new Decepticon introduced in this movie which is supposed to be a Ferrari is gonna be called... wait for it... DREADBOX! :|

Looks like the aftermath of a disaster during a car show.

Jeritron 03-05-2011 12:21 AM

I was there as well. It's quite the large disaster, if so. I believe it's a huge battle based on the amount of debris and the size of the set.

SPOILER: show

There was a SWAT team too, for what that's worth.

Damian Rey 03-05-2011 01:04 AM

Loved the first one. Never followed the series, so I went in with zero expectations, and enjoyed it immensely.

Disliked the second for a plethora of reasons, the two big ones being the action sequences were too abundant and the story just zipped on through with little time to catch up.

I don't think that Bay can make the 3rd one any worse than its predecessor. So, I expect an at least on par threequel, but I'm hoping for something like the first one. Visually, it looks amazing per usual.

parkmania 04-01-2011 03:46 PM

It must be “add some illustrious vocal credits to your summer blockbuster" week. Just a day after Warner Bros. announced that Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush would be providing the voice of Tomar-Re in Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern movie, Paramount let it be known that the iconic Leonard Nimoy would handle the vocal chores for the robot Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Sentinel Prime is the “ancestor” of Transformers “good guy” autobot Optimus Prime. In Dark of the Moon the wreckage of Sentinel Prime is found on the moon by the Apollo 11 Astronauts and brought to Earth where he adopts the vehicle disguise of a Rosenbauer fire truck.

Nimoy, who is most famous for his role as Mr. Spock in Star Trek, is no stranger to the Transformers universe. In 1986 he provided the voice of Galvatron in Transformers: The Movie.

Kalyx triaD 04-01-2011 04:35 PM

The quotations add an air of ridicule to the Transformers story. Not sure I dig it.

Good to see Nimoy back in the franchise.

Yeah, lets have more spectacle and effects with a shit story.

Kalyx triaD 06-21-2011 09:38 AM

Aaaaaaand as it turns out Spielberg ordered Megan Fox's firing. He didn't like how Fox described Bay in interviews and he had put off production just as they were starting (we even had pics of her on set).

XCaliber 06-21-2011 06:41 PM

Picked up the soundtrack for this the other day and it's decent enough not a lot of tracks on it though.

Kalyx triaD 06-22-2011 12:57 AM

They did do a TF theme remix this time. :(

Kalyx triaD 06-29-2011 11:03 PM

I'll see it this weekend.

RP 06-29-2011 11:28 PM

I didn't realize megan fox wasn't in this. That means I don't have to look at her horrible plastic surgery. I might check it out friday.

cardsharkrob 06-30-2011 12:14 AM

Well I just went and saw this today. I have to say in my opinion, I think it was better than the first 2 movies combined. There was a lot more action, effects but the thing that really captured it for me was you could actually see the war and struggle on everyone's faces.

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 09:39 AM

Ok, here is your "expert" review of Transformers 3. Contains spoilers, so don't read it if you want to see the movie yourself. You've been warned.

First off, I had to see it in 3D. Wasn't happy about it, but I kept the glasses to not make it feel like a total waste. Anyways, as cardsharkrob said, this movie was better than the other 2 easily. Although the black guy who was sitting next to me thought 2 was better. More on that in a bit.

This movie focuses more on the actual Autobots rather than on some love story or random other shit, which is a good thing. We learn more about the Autobots and Decepticons as a race and we also learn that
SPOILER: show
the whole space program was a cover up.
Megan Fox not being in this doesn't really even make much difference. The girl who replaced her does a decent job as Sam's new woman. His parents have only a small role this time, and agent Simmons also does a good job at being him, although he has a badass sidekick this time named
SPOILER: show
Dutch who is this badass German guy who pretty much knows how to do all kinds of shit.

So the whole movie pretty much revolves around the fact that during Cybertron's final days, the decepticons
SPOILER: show
struck a deal with Sentinel Prime to rebuild Cybertron on Earth.
So after the Autobots find
SPOILER: show
Sentinel Prime and 5 of the pillars on the moon, they return to Earth
and that's of course when all hell breaks lose.

SPOILER: show
After Sam figures it out that Sentinel was working for the Decepticons, he hurries back to tell Optimus, but Sentinel has already stolen the pillars, as well as killed Ironhide. :( Optimus confronts Sentinel, but he lets him go and the Autobots are told to leave Earth as the Decepticons set up their base in Chicago. They destroy tons of buildings, kills tons of people, and bring in all kinds of support from the moon.
Sam, along with Epps and a few of his fellow retired squad mates, one of which is FUCKING COLE TRAIN FROM GEARS OF WAR, all head to
SPOILER: show
Chicago to stop Sentinel and destroy the pillars and rescue Carly, who was kidnapped by her boss who you find out earlier had been working with the Decepticons all along. So as Epps and his team near Chicago, they are attacked by decepticons fighter jets and then saved by the Autobots, whom they thought were blown up during their exit of Earth. Cue the inevitable, "we'll kill the Decepticons, you go destroy that pillar, and we'll all meet back here." Bumblebee jumps in the downed fighter with Sam and the rescue Carly, and Bumblebee kills Laserbeak in the process. The fighter crashes, and the humans run to an empty building to take out the pillar with their "only" rocket. The building gets shot out from the middle, and the building collapses with everyone in it. One guy falls out of the window and Shockwave notices it so he unleashes this big worm mother fucker on the building. Optimus shows up in time to kill it. Cue Lennox and his team wing suiting into Chicago. Sam kills Starscream with some tech that Brains gave him earlier. Bumblebee, Brains, Ratchet, Sideswipe, and some other Autobot (red car) are being detained by Decepticons, while the wreckers get Optimus down from some wires he got caught in, and Wheelie and this other small Autobot work on destroying a Decepticon dropship from the inside after they snuck onto a Decepticon fighter. Brains gets executed by Soundwave I believe and then as they are about to execute Bumblebee, the dropships starts dropping fighters everywhere and then crashes into the river and the Autobots kill their captors. Bumblebee kills Soundwave and then the final battle starts. The spec ops guys set up a plan and take out a bunch of Decepticons, and Shockwave with snipers, explosives, and wingsuit tactics. They manage to stop Cybertron from coming to Earth and they destroy the main pillar. Carly finds Megatron and convinces him that he'll always be Sentinel Prime's bitch on Earth. Sentinel is about to kill Optimus, but Megatron shows up and shoots Sentinel Prime. A one armed Optimus kills Megatron and then executes Sentinel Prime with Megatron's shotgun.

That's pretty much the end after that. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Guy next to me said he wanted his money because the twins weren't in it. Couldn't help but laugh, especially since all Mudflapps and Skids were was comic relief.

Hanso Amore 06-30-2011 10:06 AM

Hmm, I think ill go see it at a cheap theater or a drive in, sounds not horrible, but not worth the big bucks of dragging my wife along.

So in short, this is nothing more than mindless fun. Pete Travers from Rolling Stone pretty much crucified it. Saying it was worse than Green Lantern. Hell, even Ebert hated it. I might go see this sometime next week.

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 11:06 AM

Ebert is a dumbass anymore. I can't stand movie critics. They get paid too much just to do something I could do better.

cardsharkrob 06-30-2011 02:00 PM

I agree Ermaximus. Lots of critics nowadays are just over priced morons. Some of the reviews they put out, I don' really get. I will agree, Green Latern could of been A LOT better.

Oh also I am glad the twins weren't in this movie. They just annoyed the hell out of me in number 2. I think the very small decepticon who then turns good is a lot funnier. Sorry don't know his name

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 03:08 PM

Wheelie, the RC car. I never did catch the other little guys name. Or the name of the red sports car.

cardsharkrob 06-30-2011 03:11 PM

The red sports car is Dino

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 03:13 PM

It thought Dino was originally a Dinobot? Eh fuck logic in this franchise.

PorkSoda 06-30-2011 03:45 PM

Does Shia Labeouf go "Nononono" in this movie? If so, I'm sold. If not, I don't wanna see it.

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 04:38 PM

I don't think so. Maybe once, but I can't remember. Simmons gets thrown out of a car though.

cardsharkrob 06-30-2011 04:53 PM

I do not rememeber if he does or not. I do though think its kind of funny that Simmons assistant Dutch is the same guy who played Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball and also he was in Firefly

Ermaximus 06-30-2011 04:55 PM

Anyway this movie fucking epic. Full thoughts later.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-04-2011 06:23 AM

I watched the film last night, and was reminded how bad it was and why I never bothered to see the second film. Doubt I'll see this one either.

Gawd bless Megan Fox, though. She can't act to save her life, but she is smokin' hot in the first film. (I know she isn't in the new one, just saying)

Schlomey 07-04-2011 09:52 AM

quick review:

55 minutes of nothing
30 minutes of bad editing
30 minute battle at the end that didn't top the battles in 1 and 2.

end movie.

SUCK.

Crimson 07-04-2011 02:49 PM

I was bored out of my mind with the first one even though I loved the cartoons.

Rented the second one on dvd and couldnt even finish watching it.

I wont bother with this one, but it doesnt matter because apparently it's making tons of money still . Why can't people like good movies?

What is considered a "good movie?" Swear to God if you say something like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, I will laugh.

Crimson 07-05-2011 12:06 PM

Obviously everyone's opinion is different, i was being a bit sarcastic. But movies I like include ;Inglorious Basterds, Frailty, Superbad, and I'll even watch THE CONDEMNED with Stonecold again before any of the first two Transformers. Not the third though cuz I hear it's decent.

Kalyx triaD 07-05-2011 01:21 PM

I still say the main reason I hate the Bayformers is that during the "hand-to-hand" fights, you can't tell which bot is which until they show a face.

Actually, unless you see their face, it's pretty much the same the whole way through the movie.

Crimson 07-05-2011 05:01 PM

Yea that's actually one of the things for me..in the first one I was looking foward to seeing character build up with my lovable robots and looking forward to the tension between Starscream and Megatron like in the cartoons.

Instead I couldn't tell which robot was which , was he good or bad? It didn't make me care for anything at all..so it made it realllyy boringgg

I'm not saying it shouldn't have been made, I'm just mean, imo, the movie sucked. It failed to make me care about the robots, the humans, the fate of planet earth. That's a problem whether you want to admit it or not. Also the way they beat you over the head with product placement in this movie, is horrible. Especially the scene where the mom is drinking a bud light. I mean, it was so blatant, they may as well of had a commercial break for Bud Light. Id have to watch it again, but the mother might have broken the fourth wall, by looking in to the camera and turning the can so we could see it was Bud Light. Come on. And some of the characters were over the top horrible. I did like that McDreamy was in the movie though.

Shaggy 07-05-2011 07:50 PM

I thought the end was nice...but wasnt worth sitting through the hour and half or boredom leading up to something.

I probably wont see it again till it his DVD and I can get it for cheap.

Kalyx triaD 07-06-2011 01:04 AM

Yeah I saw this twice, once in IMAX 3D and once normally. I loved the movie, easily best of the three and pretty good Bay movie that didn't feel like a Bay movie.

- 3D was nice (especially during the 'Birdmen' sequence), but I'm not converted to the 3D craze. It's pricey, a novelty that shouldn't be pushed like it is. Won't need to see 3D films ever again. It's like people who bitch over the difference between 720 and 1080 visuals in games. Fuck off. Regular theater experience for me.

- Liked the conspiracy themes. Overall liked that humans were more intertwined with the TF story than the last movies.

- Megatron seemed... different. Nursing Deceptibabies, sharing power with Sentinel, and being literally lazy during certain scenes. But no dialogue or anything explaining this shift in attitude.

- Speaking of him, a friend noted that Carly's 'motivational speech' seemed like something fitting for Starscream to do. Also, Carly has been more important to the story than the last chick.

- Shockwave was epic.

- Not sure about Soundwave being a Mercedes. Liked the neon speaker things, though. Points for Frank Welker dropping the Dr. Claw laugh.

- Glad I went dark on this two weeks to launch, because I had no idea Sentinel would pull a heel turn. Though with his voice actor's past work with TF, it matched up.

- Ya know what? Bayformer Optimus never takes prisoners. Decepticons have been observed taking more prisoners than Prime. Optimus is hardcore in these movies.

- Human soldiers went to work in this one. Good shit.

Enjoyed the movie,
only wish we could have had more Megatron (Interaction with Shockwave, and not needing "motivation" to go join the final battle)...

Also, i just noticed that Prime and Shockwave fight more on the Burger King commercial, than they do in the actual movie....:wtf:

Yeah, people assume it's from a cut scene. Extended DVD fodder. Starting to think they set this sort of thing up.

I finally saw this. I thought the first half of the movie abruptly jumped around a little too much, and was a bit unorganized. Really enjoyed the second half, when things started cooking.

Really liked shockwave. He was my favorite transformer as a kid, and he was great here.

I probably would be bothered by soundwave being a car, if welker wasn't voicing him. As it is, I just didn't care, because welker is awesome.

Hated that Megatron didn't have much of a role here, and hated more that starscream made no attempt to usurp megatron in his weakened position. MT was just a total chump in this movie.

I still think there was too much "human" stuff in the movie. It could have been cut down considerably to make room for more transformers stuff.

Hopefully if rumors of another trilogy bare any truth, it will take place on cybertron, far far away from John Malkovich.

I hope the next set adds the 86 line of characters, I would even enjoy Rodimus as the new leader.

Captain of Fun 09-10-2011 02:20 AM

Was Dino one of those characters they had to rename because they didn't have the liscense anymore?

I remember that in a cartoon a while back Shockwave was Shockblast, and Ravage was called something completely different.

I just don't ever remember anybody named dino.

Speaking of which I am sad the Dinobots didn't make it in.

Kalyx triaD 09-10-2011 02:22 AM

Dino's an original, I think, though his vehicle was used before.

Yeah no Dinobots, victims of 'tone' I guess.

Captain of Fun 09-10-2011 02:28 AM

If they were willing to put those ridiculous twins in the movie, the RC Cars, and Shia Lebouf's ridiculousness, I doubt the Dinobots would have upset their precious "tone".

Maybe next time.

Kalyx triaD 09-10-2011 01:07 PM

They had a tone, and the D-Bots would have raised too many questions. Even for this series.

Captain of Fun 09-10-2011 10:14 PM

Apparently Dino was Mirage and Q was Wheeljack.

Baffling.

Ha.

I have just concluded a deal with Paramount to do two movies, but it won't be two Transformers.

I will first do 'Pain & Gain' with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 29, 2014.
