We can't pick new Free Agents til after show 1 is posted anyway, can we?

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 04:57 PM

Right.

I don't want to ruin any potential surprises. Just PM me if you want a free agent and I'll let you know if he's available.

XL 07-13-2010 06:22 PM

Are we gonna come up with a "fair" way of doing the 2nd round of FA picks?

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 06:28 PM

Are you implying that this way is 'unfair'?

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 06:29 PM

I'm definitely open to suggestions.

XL 07-13-2010 07:06 PM

Well, there were already 6 guys (at least) taken before I even saw the thread. I just figured the US/Uk time difference might leave me at a disadvantage.

XL 07-13-2010 07:07 PM

Howabout the top rated show gets first pick? Or do it NFL style and let the lowest rated show go first to help boost their show?

Well, you mean for season 2? There will be new books by then and they will probably be assigned randomly to whichever fed, wouldn't be fair to get that kind of advantage.

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 07:23 PM

I think I like the lowest rated show idea. Sorry you kinda got shafted, but as I've stated numerous times, this is the inaugural season. There are definitely some bugs to work out. I like to just learn on the fly rather than stall this whole process thinking about every single thing that could sorta screw another company. This will be noted for future seasons, though. :y:

XL 07-13-2010 07:31 PM

It's cool, I got some useful guys.

I actually meant for week 2 rather than season 2. We get to pick again after Show 1 is posted. I'd say let the lowest rated show pick first.

But I guess that depends on how long we leave voting open for!?

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 07:37 PM

Probably from deadline to deadline, and I'll post the previous week's results with the next round of shows. Maybe? Hold on, let me think about that...

XL 07-13-2010 07:45 PM

Or just base it on the reverse order that the original rosters were drafted? I think someone else suggested that a while back.

Evil Vito 07-13-2010 07:55 PM

Yeah, I really don't mind what we do with the free agents. I need to sign like 2 free agents for the purposes of a match in my 2nd show. I'm really not picky about who they are as long as it's two male wrestlers. I'd more than likely just drop them after that week's show or relegate them to job duty, anyway.

BizarroKing 07-13-2010 08:45 PM

Do the rosters/feds get re-picked for season 2? Sorry if this has been asked already.

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 08:54 PM

I was thinking new companies for each season.

XL 07-13-2010 09:04 PM

I think that is the most fair way to do it. Even if it would be interesting to see what others do with the rosters as they are.

Anybody Thrilla 07-13-2010 09:07 PM

Maybe I'll keep the rosters and then just do a draft lottery between seasons.

CSL 07-13-2010 09:09 PM

Yeah, was gonna suggest some kind of continuity, was just too lazy to actually think about it.

Good, that seems fair.

Jeritron 07-14-2010 02:19 AM

As a bonus, bookers should randomly be paired up with another promotion from their league to co-book an invasion angle once the season has ended. Just for shits and gigs.

Swiss Ultimate 07-14-2010 09:31 AM

I think the winning booker should be able to continue his show into season 2. Whattayathink?

XL 07-14-2010 09:51 AM

Ooooooh. That sounds good. But would they keep all off their roster?

Guess you could always get teh new bookers to draft from everyone except whoever is on the winners roster. Then do a short (3 pick) draft lottery?

Swiss Ultimate 07-14-2010 11:20 AM

The winner could be given the right to lock out his top ten, then be placed randomly into the draft for season 2. The top ten would count whatever free agents they really wanted/needed to continue feuds.

Haze 07-14-2010 12:24 PM

Are trades an option between bookers?

Anybody Thrilla 07-14-2010 12:26 PM

They sure are.

Haze 07-14-2010 12:27 PM

I am really interested in seeing how this thing plays out, kind of interested in signing up for Season 2.

Anybody Thrilla 07-14-2010 12:28 PM

I didn't really want to give the winning booker the chance to continue into the next season because I eventually wanted to do a 'BEST OF THE BEST' challenge around season six or so where all of the previous season winners would compete against one another, possibly in a longer season with more twists and turns (injuries, wellness policy violations, etc.)

It could still be done, the only thing that could mess up that plan would be if someone were to win season after season.

Anybody Thrilla 07-14-2010 12:32 PM

Which is completely possible.

That seems like a good plan. Would 25 people sign up? I would think they would, I'm just asking.

Anybody Thrilla 07-14-2010 01:16 PM

25 bookers? What do you mean?

VSG 07-14-2010 01:22 PM

25 bookers from all of the 1st 5 seasons he means.

Anybody Thrilla 07-14-2010 02:15 PM

I think 25 people would sign up over five seasons, yes.

Jeritron 07-14-2010 07:39 PM

What about my idea?
