RIP Macho Man, one of the best wrestlers of ALL TIME.

I think Savage was more mainstream than people assume. Lil Wayne has referenced him a couple of times as have a bunch of other rappers. Plus dude's Slim Jim commercials alone are HOF worthy. I think because he wasn't as much of a media whore/hanger on as Hogan and Flair people might not give him as much props.

What sucks too is that it was a car accident. No drug overdose. No steroid abuse. No DUI. A fucking car accident. After getting over the way Liz passed and finding love again, this is how he goes out.

Poor guy. One of the true greats ever in the business, and gone far too young. RIP.

I think anyone that grew up in the 80's and was a wrestling fan couldn't help but love The Macho Man. The guy was a true talent and a man that has provided any fan of wrestling with hours upon hours of entertainment throughout his life. When I heard he was in his late fifties I thought to myself "he lived a long life for a wrestler." And I hate that that was my first thought. 58 is way too young for anyone to go. I'm a true believer in true love and in the afterlife, from everything I've read Randy Savage and Elizabeth had one of those tragically twisted romances but it sounded like they always cared for one another. I'm comforted by the fact that somewhere they are reunited once again.

Every time one of these wrestlers die a little pice of my childhood goes with them, and that's okay. There will always be the memories and I have my fair share of Randy Savage matches in my DVD collection that I can watch and think fondly upon.

I'm sure some of you are grieved by the fact that he never had his day in the sun entering the WWE Hall of Fame. Take heart with the idea that no one that ever saw Randy Savage wrestler had any doubt that he is one of the greatest of all time.

This is all just starting to come together for me in one giant depressing hammer. Just realizing how much I interacted with Jeritron here, and now realizing how big a part of my childhood Randy Savage was. I was never really a Hogan fan. I was Macho Man and Warrior all the way.

Going to go dig out my Macho Man LJN "action figure". Thing provided me with countless hours of entertainment.

ESPN's Around the Horn show is having a semi-Macho Man tribute or at least putting a lot of his catchphrase references in today's show.

They even have a link on the main page about the accident and death.

Possibly, but I think it's more likely that Santino will do a "Snapa into a Skinny James".

Really hoping they do a graphic tonight, and either at RAW or the PPV do a ten bell salute. Savage is one of the guys who absolutely deserve that kind of attention, whether he was with the company or not.

I'm still in shock and still in a bit of denial about this. I wish it wouldnt have happened.

I found out earlier today via Facebook. I was at work. My brother calls me on the phone. I answer and the first thing he says is "You okay?" I say yeah. he goes "You sure?" "I say yeah. He's like "positive" I'm like yeah and he;s like "Randy savage just died." i was like I KNOWWW! He's like "Ooooh yeaaaah!" He knows how big of a wrestling fan and how big of a Savage fan I was.

Hope that next year's HOF includes both Randy and Angelo Poffo.

I read this at work, on almost EVERY news site there is. I am devastated and I wish his wife a speedy recovery.

What really sucks about this more than anything, as some have noted, is that he didn't die of natural causes while sleeping, or after a long stay at a hospital, etc...

...a heart attack while driving that results in a head-on collision with a tree...

...it's horrible.

I heard about this earlier today, while running my errands. I had to stop and just go home, I was so shocked.

Macho Man, one of the reasons I stayed watching wrestling. Such a character, the voice, his matches, how could you NOT follow this guy!? He was the definition of "Larger than life" and it's sad to not have him around, but at least we will always have the memories.
