Hope Ubisoft doesn't listen to the mewling fanboys and make it like the old Splinter Cells. By the time Double Agent came around, I was a bit tired of the "traditional" SP gameplay. Conviction was a breath of fresh air, and a blast to play. Must have gone through the Deniable Ops stuff hundreds of times by now.

Nintendo has a Wii U presentation today on their Facebook page. I doubt we'll get anything huge out of it but, still.

The small video the showed revealed the new design of the Wii U pad, which they call the Wii U Gamepad. They showed the "hardcore" alternative to it which is a 360 controller with the right stick and face buttons switched around.

* Basically a new controller was announced called the Wii U Pro and its similar to the Xbox 360 controller and Classic Pro controller.
* The tablet controller has been redesigned to offer more comfort when holding especially the back grips
* Multiple colors promised at launch (at least White and Black confirmed).
* Miis now act very similar to the friends list on Xbox Live where you can talk and see what others are doing
* Miis also will appear in a lot more games now but players have the option to disable them for certain games or when they feel like it.
* Tablet can be used to have messages appear either as text or hand drawn like the DS/3DS message chatting
* Heavy emphasis on "social media" and interaction to go along with a huge rehaul of the online system as part of the huge emphasis on the new Nintendo Network

Pro controller lets me know the tablet won't be tacked on to too many games. Very nice.

Yeah makes it feel like Nintendo is continuing the same thinking with the Classic Controller in giving more options for developers when they make the games like with the Wii having the Wii mote, Classic controller, and Gamecube.

When they said that we could see the Miis of everyone in our region under the tile that represents the game they are playing and we saw the speech bubbles popping up with doodles in them, my first thought was that all we'll see is drawings of penises popping up every 5 seconds.

I'm not sure about the Pro controller having the face buttons where they are. I can imagin it being a little awkward. Then again, people say that about pretty much every Nintendo controller until they actually use it.

Has anyone mentioned the NFC or whatever reader on the Wii U pad? You put certain things on it and it can read or write info. They mentioned action figures.

I like that it's shaped like the 360 controller for comfort, but I'm not sure about the placement of the right analog stick. Seems weird.

That's my only concern with it too.

The Pro controller basically being the tablet without the screen fills me with hope that it will get proper support unlike the classic controller. So many games with tacked on motion controls just didn't use the classic controller/Gamecube controller even though it would have been better.

Damn I hope they have some surprises.

I'm hoping for some but I'm not holding my breath. The only things that could excite me from MS, and have even a small chance of happening, is a new console and/or a trailer for GTA V. Anything else I'd like to see from them is pure wishlist territory. New Banjo-Kazooie platformer etc.

My real excitement if for Nintendos show tomorrow.

That and seeing how many PS2's were sold last year. GO SONY!

The gametrailers feed is live which will bounce around all the conferences as well as other content inbetween. I've just stuck to this for the past couple of years, it makes it a lot easier to live with and there wasn't even any network issues last year.
