I've enjoyed thus season more than the last. Not because it's good. But because the characters are already established and now we get to see them progress. Or in Luther's case, just continue to prove he's a dumb nieve daddy's boy.

Seanny One Ball 08-04-2020 04:13 PM

None of them progress at all...

Literally none of them.

Damian Rey 2.0 08-05-2020 01:00 AM

Shut up Seanny and lemme enjoy my shows

Damian Rey 2.0 08-05-2020 02:39 AM

Finished the season. Seanny is right. The characters don't grow. What I should've said is I like that the characters are established so I can focus less on getting to know them and more about the plight at hand.

The direction of season 3 is obvious. But I look forwardto seeing what they do with it, and I hope they ditch the doomsday scenario.

Frank Drebin 08-05-2020 01:28 PM

3 eps to go and its......like......the exact same thing except no Hazel or Cha-Cha.

Seanny One Ball 08-05-2020 01:42 PM

Yep, it's The Hangover 2.

Frank Drebin 08-05-2020 10:09 PM

Hazel and Cha-Cha were in The Hangover??

Frank Drebin 08-05-2020 10:11 PM

Haven't finished but my prediction so far is (I reserve the right to change based on how this season ends) is that no matter where they go they always have to deal with an apocalypse that they create. The final season, should it make it that far, will be them trying to kill their younger selves.

Damian Rey 2.0 08-06-2020 01:34 AM

I'm hoping not. And that season 3 changes it up.

Seanny One Ball 08-07-2020 06:16 AM

I think the eternal apocalypse scenario has legs as a background setting but I think they have to explore Sir Reginald a lot more in any further season/s or people are going to get annoyed.

Maybe Sir Reginald is doing all of this to guarantee the Earth is doomed rather than saved?

rez 08-08-2020 03:37 AM

not to get into it but it was good, imho..

stay tuned (which is a great movie)

They dropped a pretty big bombshell about sir Reginald so we'll see where that leads. I can't get behone the constant doomsday storyline in every season. It was already wearing thin in this season.

The Lila swerve was also meh. No build up to. No hinting at more. Nada. Just randomly "oh btw she's special".

Seanny One Ball 08-08-2020 06:08 AM

She was a crap character anyway

Damian Rey 2.0 08-08-2020 06:50 AM

She really was. Problem is she now exists in this universe and will probably be a focal point of the next season.

rez 08-08-2020 06:55 AM

She's a Peter Petrelli but our eye candy.

rez 08-08-2020 07:25 AM

I have a boner for the actress that plays Lila.

Damian Rey 2.0 08-08-2020 01:33 PM

Me too. If they did nude scenes in this show and she had one I'd be more forgiving of the randomness of her inclusion.

Seanny One Ball 08-08-2020 04:08 PM

You just explained why Vikings is a better show than Game Of Thrones without even mentioning either of them.

Frank Drebin 08-08-2020 04:14 PM

Sophie Turner never got naked to mask her terrible acting.

Frank Drebin 08-08-2020 04:16 PM

Lila sucked but the actress didn't have a lot to work with. No depth or originality to her. All she had to do was act a bit smarmy. She had no range but there were no ways she could have displayed any if she's got it in her.

Frank Drebin 08-08-2020 04:21 PM

Done with season 2. Going to hang my hat on The Boys in terms of darker super hero shows. That seems more promising.

This show is still fun but the lack of progress of the narrative or characters this season was a real let down. You could feasibly skip season 2, pick up with 3 and not known you'd missed anything. That's saying something.

She has Jonas money. She has no need to inflict her mediocrity on the screen any longer.

Seanny One Ball 08-08-2020 05:18 PM

Chekhov's tits

rez 08-08-2020 09:56 PM

Umbrella Academy is following the downward spiral of Heroes. Change my mind.

rez 08-08-2020 10:01 PM

Vanye gonna gain Lila's ability.

One of the cast are gonna die and Klaus will resurrect them somehow.

Lila will become an UA member.

The whole Sparrow Academy thing won't last but one or two episodes and be forgotten aboot.

rez 08-08-2020 10:09 PM

Shit, how can I forget.

One of the team members (probably Luthar) will lose their power and regain it at the most select time (epic battle).

Seanny One Ball 08-08-2020 10:35 PM

If you told me Luther was weaker than the average man I'd see it more than him being super strong.

Lock Jaw 08-09-2020 01:50 AM

6 episodes in.... maybe I finish tomorrow, maybe not.

Haven't read any S2 comments in this thread.

Frank Drebin 08-09-2020 01:05 PM

Keep checking the thread for a lock jaw review.....

Dying inside

Lock Jaw 08-10-2020 01:14 AM

Just finished it.... overall not as good as the first season. Not as much character/world-building I think.... needed better heels too.... The Swedes did nothing for me, and Lila/Handler story was nowhere near as interesting as Hazel/Cha-Cha doing their thing.

Excited to see where it goes from here, though.... the mystery of Reginald Hargreeves is the most interesting part of this show now

Lock Jaw 08-10-2020 01:20 AM

Reading other comments.... agree about none of the characters really growing.... Klaus even regressed a bit.... (He's still fantastic though)

Destor 08-10-2020 10:54 PM

show remains good despite having Ellen Page in it. no way that luck can hold.

Damian Rey 2.0 08-10-2020 11:39 PM

I hope she's not a focal point in season 3. Klaus and 5 are far more interesting to watch.

If she was in a dance number you'd suddenly love her.

Lock Jaw 08-11-2020 03:36 PM

She was in a dance montage

Seanny One Ball 08-11-2020 04:21 PM

Ellen Page is a great actress, she's just fundamentally unappealing now that she has settled into a sort of "grunge" style of acting that got old real quick.

Seanny One Ball 08-11-2020 04:21 PM

I won't forget "Hard Candy" or "Super" any time soon.

Frank Drebin 08-11-2020 05:12 PM

Loved Ellen Page in Warrior Nun.......

Seanny One Ball 08-11-2020 05:27 PM

Nude Nuns With Big Guns

Seanny One Ball 08-11-2020 05:29 PM

She should become a wrestler, restart DX and call herself Ellen Degenerate
