Jeff Cobb is pretty bland

Evil Vito 02-12-2020 10:14 PM

AEW’s definitely hitting their stride again, back to back really good episodes

Triple A 02-12-2020 10:20 PM

Stacked show next week:

– Steel Cage Match: Cody vs. Wardlow

– Jon Moxley vs. Jeff Cobb

– AEW World Tag Team Championship: Kenny Omega & Hangman Page (c) vs. The Lucha Brothers

– Tag Team Battle Royal for Tag Team Title Shot: The Young Bucks vs. The Dark Order vs. Best Friends vs. TH2 vs. The Butcher & The Blade vs. Private Party vs. Jurassic Express vs. Santana & Ortiz

Loved Dustin calling out Hager on collecting a paycheck lol.

Britt Baker is really finding her stride. Her ring work is still whatever but as a heel, she's so much better and entertaining. The chubby Whataburger faces line killed me.

I like that they brought out Cobb at the very end. I'm guessing he's gotta lose next week, tho.

WWE striking out when it came to picking who from the Shield was going to be their future mega star is easily the biggest non-PR blunder they've made in years.

Reigns has yet to be the next Cena WWE had hoped by now due to their terrible booking while Rollins suffered a huge drop in appeal due to terrible booking and his social media antics. Meanwhile since leaving WWE, Moxley has been proving why they should have better invested in him as a top star.

In fairness, I'm pretty sure a ton of people said that Mox was the more charismatic, better seller, etc., at least until Rollins got his push, and even then it was more or less a toss up in that a lot of folks still though Rollins was good but Mox was better/more natural, and that Reigns was the obvious odd man out.

Love that they build week to week instead of monthly and/or annual event and "seasons". So much freshness and purpose to everything they do.

Yeah if I remember, the general feeling was Moxley was the more complete package, Rollins was the better in-ring wrestler, and Reigns was the wild card but had the ideal look Vince wanted.

Also think the general feeling was in terms of big pushes or focus, it would have gone something like Moxley/Ambrose first, then Reigns, and then Rollins last but not until years later like Jeff Hardy. Think Triple H was the one who pushed for Rollins to get fast tracked to big stardom at the expense of Ambrose in the end.

All the more reason why the folks in charge, and who are likely to take over upon Vince's death/retirement, are fucking morons, and thus, WWE is ultimately fucked long term.

Longhorns sign being in Texas.

To be honest, it's why I enjoyed the Shield. They came in before NXT was known, so even though Rollins was NXT Champion, WWE never brought that up.

Ambrose felt like the leader at first, he was the one who was the solo champ. Then it switched to where Reigns started getting booked as the leader in that he was having the big moments like being sole survivor and killing it in the Royal Rumble.

Then they teased Rollins being pissed at both Ambrose and Reigns and threatening to leave the Shield of they didn't get on the same page, and he was portrayed as the leader holding it all together and shining in the feud with Evolution.

They even dropped subtle hints that Ambrose was going to turn, which made Rollins turning that much better.

Rollins then had a great heel run, but this is where WWE screwed up both Reigns and Ambrose with illogical booking and forcing what both into weird versions of their characters.

But the Shield was enjoyable because all 3 felt like the star/leader at different times, it was after that they got it wrong with Reigns and Ambrose.

Goodbye Riho 42 Kilos. The rightful champ has been crowned. Now the division can really begin.

I wonder why AEW hasn't tried to sign Kaitlyn. They need more depth, and Kaitlyn is a far better matchup than 95lbers.

My thought... first time I watched wrestling with my roommates one a gay guy and the other an uninterested girl. The both really enjoyed the show. I think I made a wrestling fan out of my male roommate and the girl said it was a lot better than they thought it would be. They were constantly wowed at the high spots and chain wrestling. And really into how attractive everyone is.

- Opening Tag was just as excellent as you'd expect. AEW tosses out 4 star matches like nothin.
- Battle Royal angle was fantastic. And made the match next week important.
- Santana Promo was incredible. I was very intrigued in the match after this and really pumped to see him do more.
- PAC's promo as well was incredible.
-Riho/Nyla, best AEW womens match yet. That was good stuff.
-MJF/Jungle Boy, so much better than I thought it would be I loved it.
-Dustin/Sammy, same as above. And a HELLUVA promo from Dustin on Jake. Loved it.
-Mox/Santana was probably the most boring match of the night but it started and finished strong. Cobb was great and I hope he stick around. That will be a really cool match next week.
-Absolutely love how they are building matches over a week in advance. It's so important to give us something to look forward to. So much good booking!

Probably my favorite Dynamite yet. I think on their first or second episode I said it was the best Wrestling Show on TV ever ... IDK if this weeks takes that title but man it was so good.

Jordan 02-13-2020 09:49 AM

I want to say that there was a stand out moment on Dynamite but it's so hard because literally every segment served a purpose for a story and they were all excellently executed. But with that said. I fucking loved Dustin/Sammy and Dustin's promo after to Jake. It was amazing to hear his voice. Nobody talks like Dustin Rhodes, he's fucking amazing. The other stand out to me was MJF/Jungle Boy... that was fucking great wrestling all around. Solid booking with the heel finish that keeps Jungle Boy strong and gives MJF some momentum going into Revolution.

I was pleasantly surprised with the woman’s title match.

Just scored my tickets for DoN. STOKED.

I can, I'm a mark for sit down interviews, and the sit down with JR and Santana was top notch. On a fun episode, that interview stood out as different than everything else.

Moxley is not a bigger star than Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins, lol. Come on now.

You know it's true because if AEW could sign either they would get FAR bigger contracts than Moxley.
