I was just reading a book and saw the name, so sorry this is off topic but what ever happened to Paul Ince?

David Wright also now that I think about it, I used to have a trading card of his that proclaimed him the pride of England or something :wtf:

Loose Cannon 09-08-2004 05:33 PM

USA/ Panama tonight for any American that cares.

They beat El Salvador on Monday and are in 1st in there group.

Paul Ince is still playing, for us  Although this more than likely is his last season.

I don't remember any David Wright :o

LOL @ the England players refusing to give interviews after the game because of the press treatment over the last few days. What a bunch of pathetic crybabys.

Rob 09-08-2004 06:21 PM

Charlie Nicholas and Gordon McQueen = Two fu</>cking doss cunts.

yianni 09-08-2004 06:29 PM

Fucking so frustrated, I've just gotten home from the South Melbourne Hellas social club where they showed Greece vs Turkey early this morning (kick-off was 4:45am Melbourne time and now it's 7:17am). 0-0 draw in the end. We had a few very good chances, one cleared off the line, a goal disallowed because of a 'push' on the Turkish keeper , and a couple of headers go just wide. Turkey had very few chances but of the few they had they went dangerously close to scoring :nono:. It was just so fucking frustrating to watch, Greece were very ordinary in terms of hitting team mates with passes, general laziness etc. Very different to the last time I saw them in the Euro final. Argh very frustrated, we should have come away with a win against the Scum but at least we have a point. :o

brb checking up other scores from this morning.

Rob 09-08-2004 06:42 PM

That Robbie Savage red card was absolute bullsh</>it.

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 06:43 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">Robbie Savage didnt deserve to go off...which just makes it even more funny  have that you little cunt

awww complaining that Hughes could've broken his leg :'( poor Robbie :wavesad:

On an England note, Beckham's set pieces were poor today :|</font>

Rob 09-08-2004 06:45 PM

Healy's was just as bad

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 06:58 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">and yeah, the England players need to grow up. Not talking to the media because of the way they've been treated? Atleast they didnt threaten to strike this time.</font>

The Mackem 09-08-2004 07:05 PM

haha Savage cried?

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 07:13 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">nah, although that would've been funny.

He was wrongly sent off after a clash with one of the Northern Irish players but y'know. Then he complained about it in his interview after the match.</font>

Mr. Monday Morning 09-08-2004 07:14 PM

He looked like he was going to when he was talking about missing the England game :o

Can't believe that's his 1st ever red card :|

Rob 09-08-2004 07:15 PM

Come on now. He got screwed so he has every right to complain. If that was Frank Lampard then you lot would be throwing fits.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-08-2004 07:16 PM

Frank Lampard isn't a whiny little bitch who nobody likes though

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 07:20 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">Yeah exactly.

Robbie Savage is one of those players that just pisses everyone off and all the Birmingham fans say "you'd like him if he was on your team" and "he's a good player, you just dont like him because of his reputation."

If Robbie Savage was on my team id be embarrased by him and as for good player, he's average.

And I also can't believe that was his first red card.</font>

Mr. Monday Morning 09-08-2004 07:25 PM

It's not about him being an irritant because of him actually being a goodish player, it's about him going out of his way to wind up opposition fans and players alike.

His poodle hair doesn't help either.

The Mackem 09-08-2004 07:25 PM

No I mean was he actually crying?

The Mackem 09-08-2004 07:26 PM

Jeff Whitley scored

Mr. Monday Morning 09-08-2004 07:26 PM

Let's make this the UEFA World Cup Qualifiers/Robbie Savage Disappreciation Thread :shifty:

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 07:27 PM

Is this game on ESPN? Nothing showed up when I looked up soccer on TV this week :'( This could definately be a conflict with the Twins if it is on somewhere

Ogen 09-08-2004 07:51 PM

The Savage and Healy red cards were both jokes and Robbie Savage is a player that everyone bar the top 5 would love to have on their team he's fucking brilliant to have.

Rob Ban Fan 09-08-2004 07:57 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">He's not brilliant. Theres tons of better midfielders than him around. He's an average premiership player. He'll put in a few okay set piece deliveries other than that the only notable thing about him is the fact he's a wind up merchant.

If he didn't spend all his time winding everybody up no one would care about him. "Robbie who?"</font>

Yeah, you might not get it. It's on some channel called Fox Sports World.

Danny Electric 09-08-2004 09:13 PM

Savage is a decent player, he's been great for Blues. He puts himself about that winds up the opposition and just gets them frustrated. The ref in the Wales game was a joke, I feel sorry for the Italian league.

Loose Cannon 09-08-2004 11:06 PM

0-0 USA/Panama at the half. Pretty sucky game.

BCWWF 09-08-2004 11:32 PM

FSW is the sweetest channel, but its so hard to get, and of course I don't get it at college.

I've said it many times before, so one more time wont do any harm.

Beckham should not shoot from free kicks and he should not take penalties either. He is shit at both. We would score alot more free kicks if Beck's rolled the ball for Lampard, Gerrard or Rooney to smash, not only becuase htey have better shots but also because if Beckham knocks the ball to the side then the wall is out of position and useless.

He would walk into the Pompey team.

I have to agree with Ogen, I'd probably put him in the midfield other than Man U, Arsenal. Chelsea and Newcastle. He'd make the Liverpool midfield in my opinion.

Team Sheep 09-09-2004 01:31 PM

Okay, I was at the Wales game last night, and it was the worst Wales performance I've ever seen. They had no width, they were slow, it didn't flow, and it was just a down right terrible game to watch from a Welshman's point of view. The ref was shocking and our defense was a joke. And then, to top it all off, some cunt has a go at me in Burger King for apparently jumping the que :wtf: Well, we've gotta pull off a sneaky away win at Old Trafford now :shifty:

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">He wouldn't walk into the Pompey team and theres no way he'd get anywhere near the Liverpool team.

Nigel Quashie and Richard Hughes give just as much "passion" if thats what you want to call it as Robbie Savage does and don't have to resort to winding other players up or deliberatly elbowing people. Id much rather have Eyal Berkovic threading a through ball for Yakubu, than Savage's "flair". And Amdy Faye is 10x better at tackling and winning the ball than Savage.

Maybe id have him on the bench though...actually nah, the England U21 captain pips him to that post.

Walk straight into the reserve team maybe. Although he'd be a pretty bad influence on all the youngsters.

:p</font>

Rob 09-09-2004 07:17 PM

You know how much I love Quashie. I have barely seen anyone give more passion in a Scotland shirt in the last 10 years. I would still have Savage ahead of Quashie, Hughes, Faye (who actually wasn't good enough to replace Savage at Birmingham), and Berkovic. And speaking of that crybaby Jew, I think you just named the player who does more crying in one week than anyone in the league does in their careers. I only wish John Hartson kicked his head right of his shoulders.

Mr. Monday Morning 09-10-2004 05:59 AM

Even Kevin Muscat wasn't as bad as Savage.

yianni 09-10-2004 07:47 AM

Muscat's great :D

Okay now you are taking the piss.

Danny Electric 09-10-2004 01:08 PM

Seems like people are taking a personal vie against Savage and not a footballing view. Every game he plays he gives 100 per cent, he never gives up. He always runs back to help out the defence and also helps out attcking too. He's not the greatest of footballers but if teams like Wolves had someone like him in there side then they would have stayed up last season.
Actually no, they had Alex Rae so I'm wrong there.
Savage proved that he is a better play than Faye and he has more commietment. I think the fact that Savage cryed when he left the pitch shows how much he cared about missing the biggest game for his country and the fact that he thought he let his fellow team mates down.

Rob Ban Fan 09-10-2004 05:45 PM

<font face=verdana size=3 color="#ff6600">When did Savage show he is better than Faye? :|

When Amdy Faye is on form he is brilliant, he was better than Vieira last year at Highbury and bossed the midfield.

Im not denying he didnt deserve to get sent off but it makes up for every other time he has deserved to go but not been sent off and there are plenty of times.

Berkovic may be a crybaby, but unlike Savage he isnt an average, dirty, crybaby.

"Every game he plays he gives 100 per cent, he never gives up. He always runs back to help out the defence and also helps out attcking too. He's not the greatest of footballers "

You just described Nigel Quashie there. Only difference is Nigel Quashie isn a dirty crybaby.

Maybe im wrong but everytime ive seen him play, in person or on TV he has never done anything special. Elbowed a few people, kicked a few others, a few late challenges followed by a bit of crying to the referee once anyone did it back to him. Nothing great. Muzzy Izzet is the best central midfielder Birmingham have.</font>
