Yeah many claim if David Von Erich hadnt passed away that he would have been one of the biggest legends in the business.

I see it as what Forever Hardcore was to the Rise and Fall of ECW. A companion DVD that goes a little/a lot more in depth with non-contracted people and other sides of stories that WWE might not want to be let out.

Some DVD news

Silvervision has listed a 2006 WWE PPV box set. So it will likely come out soon.

JR mentioned on his blogs that hes been a big advocate of WWE box sets, and hes been pushing for DVD sets on the Clash of The Champions and all of the Raws from 1999!

I also read on a website that there is plans for a Ricky Steamboat DVD in the future.

Xero 05-31-2007 10:32 PM

Nice. The Clash DVD set would be awesome. Don't really see the point of the RAWs unless they did it by season.

I've been thinking that it would be cool if the WWE released the Attitude era by PPVs. Say they start with the Royal Rumble 1998. You'd get the Royal Rumble and every RAW before it to the last PPV. Then you'd get in the next set every RAW up to the Feb PPV including that PPV etc. Sell them in 2-3 DVD sets for $30 or so a piece. It's a pretty good trade-off of full sets of RAW vs. the entire run of WWE TV.

Yup I meant meant each season since 1999 for the RAW sets. And your idea on PPVs is a great idea. WWE kinda did that with the WM3 CE where they had a couple bonus matches and some interviews and segments from Boston Garden, Superstars, etc.

Yeah, I don't see it either. Could have been a poll somewhere.

Just rechecked the news and it wasn't posted by either of the three main reporters, so it could be fabricated. If it was, I apologize...

(That's more than Matt Boone has ever done...)

I have heard that thats the rest of the titles that will come out thru the end of 08 which all of them do it will rock!

mrslackalack 07-18-2007 10:21 PM

Several sites have reported this but I can't find the wwe link anywhere.

chrisat928 07-18-2007 10:27 PM

The Starrcade set should be interesting. See WCWs biggest event go from good to better to absolute crap.

Didn't David Arquette(sp?) win the title at a Starrcade?

And why did it have two Rs?

Loose Cannon 07-18-2007 10:51 PM

god dammit, why is that Austin one not a bio. How do they not have an Austin career bio yet?

I seriously can't believe Savage is on there though.

And I don't know about Superfly. He was great early on, but faded quickly. He had like 3 good years and then nothing.

mrslackalack 07-18-2007 11:32 PM

The Best of Raw: 15th Anniversary Edition- I hope the Bret-123 Kid Title match from RAW in 94 is on here

The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin Its supposed to come out Aug 7th but no info has come out for it yet. I wonder if they have delayed it because they put a Benoit/Austin match on there

Andre The Giant A dvd for nostaglia

Batista Unleashed Wont buy unless the HHH trilogy is on here

The British Bulldog I hope theres a great portion of British Bulldogs matches
The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment Match list was already released for it earlier this year but it will be altered because it had 2 Benoit matches on it

Complete Hell (Hell in a Cell match compilation) Should be a nice set but I have already every great HIAC match except for the HHH/HBK for Bad Blood 04

SummerSlam: The Complete Anthology (20 Disc Box Set) awesome

Triple H: Should be a good set

The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect I cant wait for this I hope its a 3 disc

Macho Madness: The Randy Savage Story I hope this turns out great and not a bashing of him like Warriors DVD.

Edge: The Rated R Superstar prolly wont buy

"Superfly:" The Jimmy Snuka Story I hope to see some of Snuka in his Mid-Atlantic days.

The Evolution of The Hardys (biography plus matches) prolly wont buy as I have the first Hardy DVD

Mayhem Outside the Ring (Compilation of the best backstage moments in history) Hope this spans all the companies that WWE owns and not just WWE

Best of Starrcade Really most of the keynote and best Starrcade matches are on DVD already, but there are some still out there that should still be on this DVD.

Owen Hart OH YEAH! I cant wait for this! I hope for some Stampede matches and his best WWF matches

The Ricky Steamboat Story Needs to be a 3 Disc

Sting I hope it would be a deal where Sting got inducted to the WWE HOF and then participated in a DVD deal. One of the best ever for WCW

Shane McMahon Shanes had some decent matches but I dunno if he deserves a DVD yet.

mrslackalack 07-20-2007 10:20 PM

The World Class DVD comes out Aug 7th, and while no match info has come out for it yet I have been able to find the following info from JRs Blog and Walmart.com. In JRs Blog he mentioned many WCCW stars were interviewed for the DVD including Kevin Von Erich, Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts, Jimmy Garvin, and Gary Hart. The WWE description of the DVD given to Wal-Mart says.....

In the 80s, wrestling events in Texas were like rock concerts. Fans flocked to arenas to experience the excitement of WCCW. But just as quickly as it rose to popularity, World Class Championship Wrestling burnt out through a series of traumatic losses. Two-disc set includes amazing matches never before released on DVD and exclusive interviews with Kevin Von Erich, Ric Flair, the Freebirds and more.

Stone Cold Steve Austins Legacy 3 Disc set done in the style of the Hogan Anthology last year that comes out Aug 7th as well has no info on it yet. There has been rumors that its been postponed due to Best Buy, Amazon, and Circuit City removing it off of their page for preorder but many other sites including Wal-Mart and FYE still have it coming out Aug 7th. If it is postponed the only reason I can think of is it had a Austin/Benoit Match on there as Austin liked his match with Benoit on Smackdown in Canada in 2001.

mrslackalack 07-21-2007 10:07 PM

I have read that WWE is debating on ever using Chris Benoit footage on DVDs again. The Summerslam Anthology is supposed to come out as early as Dec. and thats one of the decisions WWE has to make.

Here is the Summerslams Benoit was on

2000: Benoit beat Jericho in a 2 out of 3 falls match
2002: Benoit lost to RVD in a I-C title match
2003: Benoit lost to Eddie in a fatal 4 way U.S. title match that also included Rhyno and Tajiri
2004: Benoit lost to Randy Orton in the Main Event for the World Heavyweight Title
2005: Benoit beat Orlando Jordan in 25 seconds to win the U.S. Title

KingofOldSchool 07-21-2007 10:10 PM

Yeah all but one of those matches were title matches so there is absolutely no reason to edit those matches out.

And besides the only ones who buy those boxsets are the hardcore fans like me who don't really give a shit.

mrslackalack 07-27-2007 10:59 PM

The Austin 3 disc set supposed to come out Aug 7th has been delayed till Feb.

The reason is that the DVD is being done like Hogan Anthology (all matches with comments in between the matches by Austin and others) The DVD just happened to have Austin vs Benoit in Edmontion in 2001 on there. Since it had a match with Benoit on there and featured comments from Benoit WWE is taking the match off the set and adding another match thus the delay till Feb as they have to reput everything on the DVD.

Loose Cannon 07-27-2007 11:45 PM

wtf? Feb? that sucks

mrslackalack 07-28-2007 10:51 PM

Yeah I know, JR comfirmed it on his blog as well.

KingofOldSchool 07-29-2007 05:39 PM

L-A-M-E

mrslackalack 07-29-2007 10:01 PM

Well the WO has reported its been pushed back to Nov now. They claim they do not know the reason but I see it being Benoit

KingofOldSchool 08-06-2007 11:59 AM

source: PWInsider.com

-- WWE's World Class Championship Wrestling DVD was originally scheduled to be released tomorrow. It is not being released because the DVD has been quietly postponed until December due to concern about releasing a DVD that would discuss the deaths of so many performers in light of the current political climate in professional wrestling.

Loose Cannon 08-06-2007 12:01 PM

yea, just read that a second ago on Amazon. wtf? I was planning on getting that tomorrow.

KingofOldSchool 08-06-2007 12:04 PM

Yeah me too. :o

mrslackalack 08-06-2007 10:01 PM
