Do you think there's any importance to the way the debris shoots up from the explosion in the trailer? When I first saw the trailer it looked to me like there was that big fireball and then a bunch of conscious objects flying away from the explosion. It reminded me a little of the Goblin in the 1st Spiderman movie.

Kane Knight 07-26-2007 03:26 PM

I idn't particularly find them to be anything more than debris, but we'll see.

Kane Knight 07-27-2007 12:21 PM

LOL. On the Ethan Haas blog, someone was confirming this was shot in a mall near him based on the presence of military uniforms.

Kane Knight 07-27-2007 06:19 PM

New pic. Looks like the shot was taken in a mirror. 12:04 AM, so early on.

What Would Kevin Do? 07-27-2007 07:49 PM

You know what confuses me about the pictures?

At 12:04, everything is normal.

At 1:24, the military is there.

Like our military would respond that quickly....

Kane Knight 07-27-2007 09:45 PM

Are you kidding? According to Truthers, you can intercept a plane in an hour!

No, but it's a movie, so I expect some stretching of reality.

Mr Regal 07-29-2007 05:37 PM

slusho

Kane Knight 08-02-2007 09:09 AM

So Ethan HAas now plugs a RPG called AlphaOmega, though the site seems odd to me.

Mr Regal 08-02-2007 11:40 PM

S L U S H O

Kane Knight 08-03-2007 09:04 AM

What are you trying to tell us, Mister Regal?

Mr Regal 08-03-2007 11:24 AM

http://www.slusho.jp/

Kane Knight 08-03-2007 12:00 PM

So is there anything new there, or are you just telling us what we already knew in a cryptic way, and repeating it for some unbeknownst and possibly stupid reason?

Mr Regal 08-03-2007 12:09 PM

Yeah that!

Kane Knight 08-03-2007 12:13 PM

So...About AlphaOmega. Looks hot. Ethan Haas was right.

Adder 08-03-2007 06:03 PM

Loks like a 3 fingered (claw) hand that slapped the head off of the Statue of Liberty.

In the trailer someone said it's alive.

Looks kinda cool I guess, but they aren't really grabbing me enough with their cryptic blogs. Like I don't care enough to try to understand them. Poor marketing, imo

A lot of different things have been heard i nthe stead of "It's alive."

Also, the blogs aren't For Cloverfield. Unless this Alpha Omega Game is furthering the deception.

A lot of people are pissed tyhat EWR and so on are plugging a RPG.

Champion of Europa 08-05-2007 01:27 PM

Yeah, Ethan Haas has nothing to do with Cloverfield/Slusho/Monstrous/Overnight

The connection was dubious to begin with, but it's definitely not the case now.

Pissed off a lot of film nerds, though. :y:

Innovator 08-05-2007 08:45 PM

Alpha Omega looks sweet though

Kane Knight 08-05-2007 09:49 PM

It does. I wish there was more info, though.

Hanso Amore 08-06-2007 10:49 AM

I get the feeling that while all signs point to a monster attack on the city, somehow we get fucked into a movie where we never actually see the monster in full effect as the camera will be running and have bad views, and we will never learn any back story, or anything after the attack. Just a movie in the here and now. You know what I mean? That would be a major let down.

Imagine it ending up being " whats what?! OMG run! What was it?" the end.

Kane Knight 08-06-2007 10:58 AM

I seriously doubt that, but if that happened....

I doubt it, but I could see it. How many people saw Primeval thinking they were going to see a serial killer who killed 300+ people, then left when they saw a fucking Croc.

How many people saw the Village thinking they were going to see a scary movie with a kick ass twist, and got a piece of shit that I walked out on.

This movie seems to be a cant miss hit with the amount of Viral ARG buzz it has. people are foaming at the mouth hoping for more. How often doesn't hollywood let us down?

I know. I'm just saying I doubt it. Definitely possible.

BTW, LOL at these guys on the Ethan Haas Was Wrong blog...

RoXer 11-01-2007 03:51 AM

Any news on this yet?

Boondock Saint 11-01-2007 06:46 AM

Apparently a new trailer revealing the actual title will be attached to Beowulf.

94 SVT Cobra 11-01-2007 08:25 PM

if you watch the trailer close enough you see the monster for a split second, that explosion that happens....is actually a creature look close and for a SECOND you can see the face.

Devin over at CHUD has seen the trailer for the upcoming JJ Abrams-produced monster movie code-named Cloverfield/1-18-08. The trailer which runs 2 minutes and 16 seconds will debut in front of Beowulf and will feature the final title for the movie (we reported this earlier in the week). So what is the title?

Cloverfield

...

CHUD also has a description of the trailer, which doesn’t feature much information (if I was you, I’d wait to see it on the big screen, as it seems like more like a trailer you want t experience) but it does confirm that the movie features a big monster (”We see the big monster briefly passing between two buildings. I couldn’t make it out at all, but it appeared to be HUGE.”) and smaller creatures, and that the video tape is eventually found in Central Park (as we reported during the last days of production).

Xerzes 11-04-2007 11:04 PM

Make us wait six months for a name, and it's..what we already thought it was. Yay?

Blitz 11-04-2007 11:19 PM

Cloverfield could just be a placeholder until the trailer officially hits.

The Naitch 11-05-2007 12:40 AM

half lion half dragon

a sea monster

The Naitch 11-05-2007 12:43 AM

Am I the only one who's actually figured this out? J.J. Abrams got the idea for the movie after leaving a Godzilla toy store, the sound of the monsters 'roar' has even been heard in a previous movie (And not in a Godzilla flick) more than once. The monster will be a type of mutated whale, seeing as the 'roar' is a Blue Whale's call modified.

The Naitch 11-05-2007 12:44 AM

FREAKZILLA

The Naitch 11-05-2007 12:45 AM
